I couldn't have asked for a better start to my step dads time at Fernhill House. The staff have been absolutely brilliant in welcoming him and making him feel at home. They also make us (our family) feel at home and welcome, they are such lovely people. In fact, this is the biggest thing that stands
out to me and my family, the team at Fernhill House go above and beyond in making us feel like we belong there too which is such a lovely feeling and it allows us to spend as much quality time with my step dad as we can. My step dad has been so happy in his first couple of weeks there. He really enjoys the time that the staff spend with him, they are always checking in with him and seeing if he is OK or needs anything, sometimes just stopping for a quick check in and chat which he really appreciates. For the times he likes to be quiet, he has the flexibility to go off into several fantastic different spaces (Bistro, Cinema, Lounges) or to his lovely room. It's a wonderful home, Thank you!

My husband moved into Fernhill House last week. We had been dreading him having to leave our home on a permanent basis (as I had reached a point where I was struggling both emotionally and physically to care for him at home). We needn't have worried. On the day of the move The Care Manager came to
pick my husband up from home and we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes by all of the staff. Right from the start it has felt like "Home from Home". The nursing and care staff have taken time out to get to know my husband's likes and dislikes and have treated him with the utmost dignity and kindness. Family is the most important thing to my husband and it was lovely at the weekend when our family came to have afternoon tea with us and then we spent a couple of hours in one of the beautiful lounges with the grandchildren playing board games. It really is a "Home from Home".

When you enter Fernhill House you are reassured by caring staff and happy residents. Regular, varied and fun activities are on offer daily: staff have tried and tested events but constantly look for new ways to keep residents involved. Mum has particularly enjoyed the live music on offer. Moreover the
level of care and genuine interaction with the residents is lovely to watch. Visiting regularly I am always moved by the dedication and kindness by all staff, whether carers, housekeepers, chefs, maintenance or admin. : all are friendly and caring. They all help mum with respect, gentleness and laughter. There is plenty of space for residents to participate in activities or, if they choose, to sit quietly. Mum's wing was recently renovated and it's just beautiful. She loves sitting by the 'fire' in the refurbished lounge. Mum settled in really quickly and whenever I call in I find her content and enjoying herself - it's truly a delightful home.

Fernhill House encompasses all that is good about care for the older generation; we are so very glad that we chose this beautiful place for our relative. The love and devotion shown to them by every single member of the team at Fernhill gives us absolute peace of mind which is crucial. From the moment
you walk through the doors, you're greeted and welcomed like old friends, always offered the most beautifully-presented refreshments and generally treated like you are arriving into the bosom of a family home. There are always activities on offer for the residents to take part in, but the vibe always remains relaxed and serene for those who prefer a gentler pace. All of the residents receive a huge amount of one-to-one time from the entire team, not just the wonderful carers.....the kitchen team, for example, take time to learn what will best tempt residents' tastebuds in order to surprise and delight them. Medical care is exceptional yet discreet, allowing absolute dignity.

Burcot Lodge is a truly wonderful home. My mum has lived there for over a year now and is very happy. I honestly cannot fault this home at all. All the staff in whichever area they work in are so caring and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them in making sure residents and their families
are cared for and supported at all times. There are lots of fun activities too. It's heartbreaking to see a loved one with dementia but The Lodge helps make this hard journey easier with their care and dedication. Thank you so much for all that you do.

My wife has been at the Lodge for some 4 months now. It was a traumatising decision for the family. It's full time care for her but her life he is safe, warm and extremely well cared for. She now refers to and regards the Lodge as her home.
All of the staff are full of smiles and very quick to react
to any requests.
The illness of dementia is so worrying, so sad but the attitude of the Lodge staff lightens our family's load. Thank you

The quality of private and public rooms, catering, activity and the attention to each detail of my mother's care is first class.
Every member of staff is highly professional and very caring, not just the dedicated "care" team, but also housekeeping, catering, maintenance, activity, reception, administration
and management teams. Despite their hectic and challenging schedules, there is always time for a chat. Each person does more than expected to help my mother feel comfortable and secure. My mother is treated as an individual and whilst encouraged to participate in the wide ranging activity schedule, her choices are always respected.
Medical concerns, however small, are picked up, acted upon and shared with me. Any concerns I have are listened to and resolved. I feel reassured that my mother experiences the best possible care provided by excellent management and motivated individuals.
Many thanks to all the wonderful people who contribute to this excellent facility.

Absolutely everyone at Burcot is very friendly, caring, encouraging and understanding. Their passion shining through for helping and looking after the people who live there.
Issues will always arise - it is how people handle them which is key to me. When issues have arisen everyone involved throughout
the whole organisation got straight onto them and resolved - very impressively.
The range of meals is 5 star standard. The range of activities surpasses any other care home I have been involved with over the years, a wonderful mix of entertainment, body movement and for making your brain work - all in an easy going way.
Thank you to everyone at Burcot for looking after Mum.

I can not rate Burcot Lodge highly enough. They made my mums transition into the home as easy as possible. In a difficult first week they kept me completely upto date with how things were going and gave me great emotional support as well as caring for mum wonderfully. Everyone we have come into contact
with has been so helpful, friendly and caring. My daughter came with me last time and as we left said "isn't it a wonderfully peaceful place". The place was bustling and busy but still gave us that calm, warm feeling. On my first visit I was told I would know when I had found the right place for mum - they were right.

We were so relieved to move Mum to the Lodge from another home. The Lodge offers excellence in every way. After a relatively short settling-in period, Mum is as settled and as happy as we could hope for.
Every single member of staff from the reception/admin/marketing team, housekeeping and hospitality,
the maintenance team, the wonderful events team and of course the carers themselves actually really care.
Everyone has time to engage with the residents and their families in a warm and friendly way.
The carers are well trained and respectful. All residents are treated as individuals and their 'quirks' accommodated. Mum is always clean and well turned out which is as she'd want to be. As a family, we are involved in news/decision-making.
Huge efforts go into keeping the days lively and stimulating with excellent activities. All areas of care seem well coordinated. I think underpinning this is first-class management.
We enjoy our visits and leave with complete peace of mind.

Was for post operative respite care.
Apart from limited response to car parking issue and getting TV remote control fixed, everything else was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, as were the facilities. Beautiful grounds encouraged me to get out on little walks to build my
strength back up. Being able to have my trial without catheter here rather then the hospital was a real bonus.

Fernhill House, complete peace of mind.
The kindness shown by the staff towards Mum and the wish to put residents at the heart of their decision-making has been key in the ease in which Mum has moved from home care to full-time residency. Fernhill House has been so positive.
The staff have cared
for Mum with real kindness, from my point of view, the customer relations manager/team really went above and beyond to accommodate us, to which we are very grateful.
The facilities reflect that of a luxurious hotel. We very much appreciate how they were so welcoming to family and friends visiting.
All her medical needs are expertly handled, keeping the family updated with kind and thoughtful words. For anyone wanting a family member to be cared for and treated with kindness and dignity, I can't express how lovely Fernhill is and would be a lovely place to go to.
