Sandringham court is an old and tired building in desperate need of renovation.
Rats present in garden area, manager rarely available, advertise activities and chiropody on website, none done by Anchor. Residents family organize bingo and chiropody. Assisted bathroom out of order for 18 months.. regularly
complain to management all to no avail.
Reply from Shirley Toal, Service Delivery Manager at Sandringham Court

Thank you for your review of Sandringham Court. We are sorry to hear of your concerns and appreciate you sharing them.We have a preventative pest control contract in place with visits eight times a year. Following a recent sighting of a rat, a visit was carried out but no evidence of infestation was found. As we are an Extra Care housing location, activities are primarily resident-led, with our Location Manager supporting by promoting and advertising them. Chiropody is not a service provided by Anchor, though residents can arrange external providers and we understand families often help with this too. When away or on annual leave, our Location Manager, places a notice on his office door with contact details for support in his absence. We also note your comments about building improvements and the assisted bathroom, and we will continue to monitor these closely. If you would like to discuss further, he would be happy to arrange a chat at a mutually convenient time.

I have lived at Rev Bill Baker Court for two and a half years and I am very happy here. The staff and particularly The Manager are all very helpful when I need them.

The home is kept immaculately clean and I am proud to bring my family and friends in when they visit. We have outside entertainment

regularly for our enjoyment. The gardens are a pleasure to sit in or walk around.

The kitchen staff keep us well fed catering for all dietary requirements. We even have the occasional barbecue and Mocktails instead of cocktails which all the residents enjoy. We have a weekly church service for those that are interested. We have armchair exercises, knitting
club and weekly board games sessions and coffee mornings.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EXTRA CARE LOCATION!

We moved here nearly 5 years ago and we can honestly say it is the best move we have ever made. The Scheme is really friendly and lots of different activities going on. The location is perfect a 5 minute walk to the beach. Dr's surgery is directly opposite the Scheme. Shops are all in walking distance.
The gardens are beautifully kept and a beautiful patio area which is ideal for our barbecues. The Manager is always on hand to help with any issues or problems. The Manager does Wacky Wednesday where she wears huge bright glasses which makes all the residents smile and Super Hero Friiday when she dresses as a Super Hero. We highly recommend this Scheme.

I have been to the Reverand Bill Baker on a number of occasions, taking my crafting for the residents to see and buy . They are a lovely group of people. The care home is beautifully kept and the care staff are caring and cheerful. The manager is a very lovely lady who cares greatly about the welfare
of her residents and entertains them on Fridays with her super hero costume !

I came into Burnside Court in April 2021 and I have enjoyed living here, I look forward to living here for some time to come.
Everyone is very good to get on with, they are also very professional, friendly and polite too, I have found that since I came to see Burnside Court in 2020.
A number of us
have planted some flowers in garden containers in the front and back gardens, we have a very beautiful display of flowers.
Burnside Court is a very nice place to live, it is very quiet too.
It is a very nice place to retire to, the meals are very good that we have in the dining room at lunchtime.

Recently my wife has assisted a lady in moving into Bill Baker Court in Sutton on sea. From the first contact we have been immensely impressed. The manageress is a total delight, showing compassion, professionalism, kindness and taking us through all processes in a calm unhurried way. The rooms are
beyond what we expected with spacious living areas, light and open outlooks, an en suite wet room and a kitchen space so residents have a degree of individual freedom and flexibility. The entire complex is light and spacious offering meals, activities, games and health support when needed and is run by highly motivated and pleasant staff. The facilities are immaculately clean and in first class condition and the welfare and happiness of the residents is paramount. We spoke to some of the residents who were equally as enthusiastic in their own views. I cannot praise Bill Baker Court highly enough! Well done staff and all involved in this excellent residence. Easiest 5-star review I've ever given!

Awful place, a high turnover of staff which says a lot. Managers come in with ideas of changing from last management to full force uneducated uncaring, all about records and not actual residents. I cursed the day my dad went to live there. No privacy, infringement of their human rights. I'm not saying
this of carers, they work hard. It's management I'd say they are like the Government, do as I say. They don't understand they are dealing with human beings and not all of them fit into their box. I wish I had money to remove my father, he's treated like a leper, has no professional management, awful, awful place to live.
Reply from Paul Hogg, Area Manager at Northampton Place

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that your experience at Northampton Place was not to our (and our partner Slough Borough Councils') usual high standards. Northampton Place (Extra Care) is an independent living location for adults 55+ who benefit from additional services such as social care provision and catering. A number of residents living at Northampton Place have complex health needs, and acceptance and engagement with these services designed to support and empower them are an individual choice. Respecting and working with individuals to accommodate their lifestyle choices and needs whilst supporting them to maintain their tenancies continues to be a high priority for Anchor. We take feedback very seriously, as we endeavour to improve and better the services we provide on a daily basis. I know we're currently in contact with you about your concerns so will continue to stay in touch and take appropriate steps to address any outstanding issues.

Austin Place

We are not a "care home". This building consists of 65 privately owned flats for independent living. It is possible to have Private Care at a charge if required but this is only necessary for a few residents. If you need care then Austin Place is not for you!
Reply from Lauren Felstead, Marketing Executive at Austin Place

Thank you for leaving a review.
We agree that Austin Place is not a care home. Carehome.co.uk, despite what the name suggests, has a range of listings that enables providers like us to have profiles for locations which are able to offer an element of care, and residents like yourself have the opportunity to leave a review that informs potential residents who are interested in living at our locations about what life is like living there. Having a listing means more potential residents are able to find out about our locations, including those where they could have an element of extra support whilst living independently.
Austin Place works as an Independent Living location, with different variations of care or other support provided optionally at a charge, if required by the resident (and catered to the resident's needs).
We hope you enjoy living at Austin Place but please do get in touch with your location's Manager should you have any further queries or concerns.

Corona Virus.
Many thanks to the care workers (especially), chef, kitchen staff, cleaner and manager for their professionalism in supporting the clients within the home.
The carers in my experience are being really extra supportive to my relative, also myself who lives in Wales, and sister, his hands-on
carer who cannot now visit, whilst going through this terrible times.
Their professional support and care of the family unit shine before them even outside these horrendous times.
This is our Thursday continuing clap to all the staff.

Excellent staff, care provided of a ver4y high standard. Good relationships between care staff and relatives. Unfortunately, there is, once again, a change in management, the fourth in 16 months, a regional support manager being in post for the second time. Some continuity would be beneficial to any
future plans for the home. My husband is settled and cared for with a good relationship with the care staff. He is respected and his needs are fully considered and provided for.

The "Care Partnership" offered by Hanover Housing and Durham County Council ExtraCare is to be congratulated on the excellence of accommodation and personal support afforded to all Residents. The building offers modern facilities in the form of private Apartments, excellent communal facilities in the
spacious Dining Room - also used for numerous entertainment/meeting opportunities throughout the week. The extensive and well-maintained gardens offer the opportunity to benefit from the relaxing but secure surroundings. The availability of "24/7" care from the team of Care Support staff can justly be described as exceptional, as there are always members of staff available to help with every aspect of a Resident's comfort well being, these are the little things that make such a difference to the happiness of the Residents. This well-integrated team was very much appreciated by our Dad during his stay at Maple Court and also by the family in the knowledge he was being so well looked after.

Maple Court is an extremely good care home. It is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean at all times and is a happy, caring environment where all of the residents are treated with respect and dignity. The carers are very pleasant and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a happy, friendly
atmosphere at all times. Each person has their own private flat, where they are safe in the knowledge that care and help is immediate to hand if and when needed, day or night. There is a good range of food on offer in the spacious dining room, which also doubles as a meeting room for residents and guests to attend coffee mornings, film shows, musical events and more. Day trips are also on offer. There is a guest suite for relatives use.
My dad was very happy here and we couldn't have wished for a better place for him. Sadly he passed away in January, peacefully.
In an ideal world, everyone would have access to this kind of care. Thank you all very much for everything you did for him.

Staff here went the extra mile for my mum. She was always looked after with dignity and respect. Mum was showered daily and her hair done and always looked immaculate. When she became more dependent and confused with her dementia they supported us and her to find a home with more care. All the staff
were amazing and she felt they were her friends. Mealtimes were beautifully set out and at Christmas, it was like being at home in a big family! Thank you so much to the lovely staff group which has remained consistent since mum moved in. This has been of great benefit.
