Care Homes Owned by Excelcare in Cambridgeshire

I did a lot of research into care homes around Cambridge before placing both my parents here; and I have to say that all of my hopes for the quality of care that they would receive at Primrose Croft Care Home have been fulfilled. Primrose is a remarkable place, full of genuinely caring and well trained staff at all levels, who consistently go the extra mile not only in looking after the personal and medical needs of my parents (one of whom has dementia, the other having leg problems and mobility issues), but in also developing a proper relationship with them both, that is authentic, human... and humane. On admin and managerial levels too, the home is very well run, which makes life much easier for me as the middle-aged child of elderly parents, with my own family to look after! My parents' rooms are excellent, the activities in the social areas imaginative (art and exercise classes, pet therapy, beach trips), and the patio and lawn have been indispensable this summer of course. Bravo

I have been visiting friends who live at St George's Court Care Home for several years, and my experience has always been very positive. The staff are friendly, compassionate, and genuinely caring. The home is always clean and well maintained, but most importantly, my friends have been happy and well cared for throughout their time there. I would happily recommend St George's Court Care Home to anyone looking for a caring and supportive environment.

What a lovely care home, with caring and friendly staff, everyone seems so happy and cheerful. Cleanliness is excellent, it's always a joy to visit my husband and the other residents.

Aliwal Manor Care Home gave love, care and attention to Mum during her stay. The team even managed to get her appetite to return. It's always very encouraging to have a place of safety and love when us carers need time out!

My dad had a lovely experience at Brook House. He loves all the staff, they were very good with my dad. So thank you to you all at Brook House. Love the harper family.

Always pleasant to visit the home after a long distance journey

Fitzwilliam Home in Cottenham is a beautiful home that ensures your loved ones are safe, well looked after and loved. The staff are so lovely and kind, the home is so clean and there are always stimulating activities to keep the residents entertained. The kitchen staff cook such lovely and healthy meals for the residents every day as well as baking the most gorgeous luxurious birthday cakes for the residents making them feel so special on their birthdays! My mother and I are so happy and grateful that my Grandad is living at such a wonderful home.

I have been living at St Georges Court Care home for just over 2 years now and have no trouble and felt at home right away. All the team are very friendly and caring and I feel very much they are an extended family. The management recently arranged for me to travel to Lincoln and attended a Hamza Yassin talk, which was a brilliant day and I was even able to give him a embroidery gift I made him. I have now settled into my room and it feels like home, I have decorated the walls with pictures of birds. It is lovely and colourful. I would recommend choosing st Georges court if you are looking for a care home.

Glennfield is perfect for my mum's needs. She's now lived here for a couple of years which has enabled the lovely team on Poppy to get to know her. In that time, mum's dementia has progressed quite a bit and it is reassuring that the team have built up a relationship with mum so understand her needs really well. The care team, along with the front of house, management and entertainment teams all really care about their jobs and the residents, it's lovely to see. The cleaning, catering and laundry teams also do great work. I would have no hesitation in recommending Glennfield to anyone.

Shirley was recently at a different home but because of circumstances had to move. It was possibly the best thing that could have happened, Shirley seems a totally different persona, which is a special peace of mind. She is so much more relaxed, must be the excellent caring Glennfield carers and staff. It was hard moving into any care home but Glennfield has made it so easy. Thank you so so much.

There are no words powerful enough to describe what Buchan House means to our family after the care they gave my Nannie in the final days of her life. In our darkest moments, shattered by grief, fear, and exhaustion, they carried us with a level of compassion we will never forget. When someone you love is nearing the end, fear is constant, but from the moment she was there, those fears turned into trust. Every single member of staff cared for her in a way that went far beyond professionalism. They saw her as a person, someone precious, someone who mattered deeply. Buchan House didn't just provide care, they gave love, the kind that cannot be taught, only felt. Because of them, her final days were filled with peace, worth and love, and ours with the gift of knowing she was truly cared for when it mattered the most. From the deepest part of me, thank you. Buchan House is more than a care home and more than a job, it is a place filled with the most special-hearted people. THANKYOU!!!

The warmth, empathy and respect shown to both our nan and our family was truly incredible. We will always be grateful to everyone at Buchan House for making such a difficult time a little easier with their care and compassion. Thank you so much! X

I visited on Sunday 24th of May at 10:20 and my mum was awake and active and very alert and we had a great time together, walking in the lovely garden and chatting. I would normally leave at meal times (lunch is at 12:00), but the care team (Claire, Katy , Ishara & Nicky) and the receptionist (Cara) noticed how alert my mum was and arranged for me to stay for lunch and even set up a private dining area. This was fantastic, and such amazing care and service and it was such a rare treat to be able to sit and have a meal with my mum and we had a great time together; even singing along to the songs on the TV. Thank you everyone

What a gem!!

Mum has been a resident since December 2025. The entertainment is excellent, with a varied variety of exciting events, and the fun and joy the residents get is great for them. Birthdays are a special day with in house chef baking fabulous cakes, the meals look delicious. The staff are very accommodating and courteous to us and mum's needs. We are happy to leave mum knowing she will be well cared for when we go home.
