St Fillans Care Home

from Rhona G (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Lovely home, mum was well looked after and had a wonderful time. Activities are on all the time, they focused on mums routine and took account of her likes and dislikes. Mum was not keen to go but once there had a great holiday, and even said she would be happy to go again. The manager is a gem. The
recent fate was lovely as well, they all work so hard to make sure all residents are catered for with hobbies. One big thing was all mums clothes came home no lost items or unknown items appeared this is credit to how they value the people.

Reply from Anumol Thomas, care manager at St Fillans Care Home

Thankyou for the kind words .It was a pleasure to look after mum and we are happy that mum enjoyed her stay at St Fillans. We will be happy have mum back anytime. We will share it with our team who will be very happy to find the words of appreciation

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional care our loved one has received at Ashlyns. From the moment we first visited, we were welcomed with kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion. The staff go above and beyond-not only meeting physical needs, but also offering emotional support and
companionship.

The atmosphere is always clean, comfortable, and homely. There's a real sense of community here, with engaging activities, freshly prepared meals, and a team that truly treats residents like family. Communication with the family is excellent; we are always kept informed and involved.

It gives us peace of mind to know our loved one is in such capable and caring hands. Thank you to everyone at Ashlyns for the dignity, respect, and love you show every day.

My brother has been a resident for a year now at the care home. There is always a good welcome and atmosphere within the home. There are plenty of daily organised activities. Any concerns are picked up and acted on promptly, with good communication. I have found the care staff on my brother's unit to
be exceptional.

Reply from Susan Deol, Home Manager at Abbot Care Home

Dear family member of Abbot care home, Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that your brother has settled in well and that you've felt welcomed each time you visit. Our team works hard to create a positive atmosphere, provide engaging activities, and respond promptly to any concerns, so it's wonderful to know this is recognised. We will make sure to pass on your praise to the care staff on your brother's unit, the team will be thrilled to hear your feedback. Your support means a great deal to us. Best wishes from myself and all the team at Abbot care home.

Abbot Care Home

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Mum spent the last several months of her life at Abbot Care Home, from October 2024 until May 2025 after being placed there for end of life care. I cannot thank the staff enough. My Mum knew she was loved and cared for by the staff, I would visit daily and I saw the relationships built between my
Mum and all the staff (and I mean all the staff) from the carers, nurses, domestics, managers, activities staff.

She was always treated with dignity and respect, she was happy and always had a smile for them, or a little nickname, nothing was too much trouble. Sadly we lost Mum in May this year, but when other charities or company's say they are there for you, but they aren't. It is different with Abbot Care Home, we the family still matter, they check to see how we are doing.

If you are looking for a care home for long term care or respite care, from my experience I would recommend them and the staff who work there.

Reply from Susan Deol, Home Manager at Abbot Care Home

With warmest regards From all the team at Abbot's care home.

Abbot Care Home

from Terry L (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My last review was in Feb 2023 when Mum was a very new resident in KFI unit. Now, over 2 years later, I am really pleased to say she's still as happy, now, as she was then. Care is still excellent. She is treated with much kindness and dignity. She enjoys the food and although she does not attend any
activities, she enjoys the times activities staff pop in for a chat with her. One thing I feel would improve KFI unit is a dishwasher. I think it would be far more hygienic and also save already overworked and busy carers some valuable time.

Reply from Susan Deol, Home Manager at Abbot Care Home

Dear family member Thank you so much for taking the time to share such kind and thoughtful feedback, it truly means a lot to all of us .We're so pleased to hear that your mum is still as happy now as she was when she first arrived, it's the best reassurance we could hope for. Knowing she feels comfortable, respected, and well cared for is exactly what we strive for every day. It's lovely to hear that she enjoys the food and appreciates the friendly chats with our activities team. Even the smallest interactions can make a big difference, and it's heartening to know they brighten her day. We also appreciate you raising the suggestion about installing a dishwasher in the unit. At present, dishes from KFI are taken to the main kitchen for cleaning, as space within the unit itself is quite limited. However, we absolutely understand your concerns around hygiene and staff time, and we will be following this up to see if there are any potential options or improvements. Best wishes

Since the day my brother went into Abbott Care Home, Kingfisher 2 Unit I have nothing but praise for this wonderful Home. Everyone of the staff have been just incredible. Always very professional, patient, kind and caring to him and to us as a family whenever we visited. The communication has been
brilliant which was very important as we live a long way from the area and whenever I contacted them they always made me feel my brother was a special person in his own right, not just another resident. Nothing was too much trouble and we took great comfort knowing he was being cared for so wonderfully. . We will always be indebted to you and I can honestly say we would not have wanted him to be anywhere else for this last stage of his earthly journey. I can't recommend you highly enough. A heartfelt "thank you" for everything.

Reply from Susan Deol, Home Manager at Abbot Care Home

Dear family member,Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt message, your words truly moved us, and we feel honoured to have been part of your brother's journey. It means so much to hear that the care he received at Kingfisher 2 brought comfort and peace to both him and your family. Our team always strives to treat every resident as the unique and valued individual they are, and knowing that this came through to you, especially from a distance means everything to us.We understand how important strong communication is, particularly when families are far away, and we're so glad we could offer reassurance and support during that time. It was a privilege to care for your brother, and we will remember him fondly. On behalf of the entire team, thank you again for your trust, your kind words, and for allowing us to be part of his final chapter. We wish you and your family continued strength and comfort. With warmest regardsFrom all the Abbot care home team.

At the 1st glance, Sweyne Court doesn't look much but has all the comforts required and is very clean inside and outside the building.
The biggest asset this home has is the genuine and consistent level of care offered by the staff who are absolutely amazing. We cannot thank them enough for the relentless
effort they made to care for our mum. Mum recently passed but was so happy at this home and that has been a comfort to know she was in good hands with her care.
We were very lucky to find this hidden gem of a care home .
