Ardsley House & Cottage

This is an amazing care home. The staff are absolutely brilliant and can't do enough for the residents or their families. They have plenty of activities to keep them all amused, including day trips, holidays, cinema, bowling, music, arts and crafts etc. My brother loves it there, and they really go
out of their way to ensure he has all he needs (including specialist equipment) and look after him in every way.

Staff are friendly and also helpful, we have the best manager as well.
Bedrooms are superb, we do lots of great things and the food and drinks are amazing.
They also keep us safe from Covid 19.

Linden Lodge Care Home

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My sister, who is 83 years and suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, has been a resident at Linden Lodge for about three years. Despite all my sister's difficulties, the staff have handled her with kindness, care and great patience. After a brief episode in hospital, my sister was very happy to return
to her care home and so were the family. I cannot thank them enough for the sympathy and dedication that they have shown to my sister.

Linden Lodge Care Home

from Henry G (Brother of Resident) published on 18 November 2019
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My brother has suffered from schizophrenia from the age of 18 and has needed special care since. In his case, this can be very challenging for the staff at times as he has little desire to do anything. The staff here have demonstrated they are very understanding and patient with him as he can become
very withdrawn and has no motivation to look after himself or carry out the basic self-hygiene tasks. The staff ensure that he has regular dental, eye and GP checks, and accompany him for these checks whenever necessary. They do an excellent job of taking care of him and encouraging him in all aspects to participate in as much as possible within his limitations. Even though he blames his illness on a lot of external factors, he's very happy to live at Linden Lodge and has repeatedly said so. The home is of a high standard with a very friendly atmosphere and the manager and staff are excellent. I'm very happy that he is cared for so well in such a well run home.

Linden Lodge Care Home

This home is clean, attractively decorated and with a welcoming air. The staff are friendly and caring, especially the manager and assistant manager. They give serious individual attention to each of their residents, taking their particular needs and interests into consideration and going out of their
way to satisfy them as far as possible within the resident's own limitations. My friend looks much better cared for and more energetic than he has been for some years.

Linden Lodge Care Home

from Melanie D (Mother of Resident) published on 22 October 2019
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our son is a young man with complex needs including depression and autistic spectrum disorders compounded by learning disability and he is very vulnerable to manipulation and exploration. As he is high functioning he has a lot of ability but needs protecting from these risks. He has been very unhappy
in previous placements where staff dislike responding to requests for help and little by little he has lost confidence and sunk deeper into depression.
All that changed when he moved to Linden Lodge. He was genuinely shocked that each time he asked a staff member to help him with something that he needed help with the staff member responded positively and actually helped him. He couldn’t believe his luck.
In less than six months, with the dedicated support and care of the home manager and other staff he has learned to trust, he has made really positive decisions about his future and he is so happy. It is a homely, lovely place run excellently with the highest standards of care.

95 Bromyard Road

from Barry P (Father of Resident) published on 4 May 2018
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My daughter spent just over 12 months at Bromyard Road, following 7 months of intensive treatment at another centre at Beckenham in Kent so this was the first stage of her recovery back into the community. From the first moment she was made to feel very welcome at Bromyard Road, and the staff were always
friendly, positive and very supportive and under their care, her mental health continued to improve to the point where she has now moved into her own Flat with a reducing level of support. At Bromyard Road, she was encouraged to be as independent as possible but help was always on hand if needed. Her own room was comfortable and she made it her “own space”. I cannot thank the staff enough, they were very professional, caring and supportive not only to my daughter but to us as parents too- they always had time for us and were very constructive in their feedback and advice. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility.

The individual supported here has been here for 14 years and are very much settled. They have a full activity schedule which is changed monthly and can participate in positive risk taking to enhance the quality of life. My relative is extremely happy at this service. It feels just like a big family!

I went to see my friend at Bromyard Road this week; she has been in this residential home since January. She came out of hospital and she loves it here; the staff are all lovely and the managers have enabled her to get further help with ongoing health concerns that have never been addressed before now.

She

does a lot of activity - card making, painting, cooking, life skills, budgeting etc. She really likes it a lot. She cooks every day, is encouraged to eat well and exercises as she feels like it.

As a family, we find the standard of care very good overall.
Nursing is of a very high standard, all the staff being very attentive to the residents' needs.
On entering Orchid Lawns you will see the décor on the walls.
The activities person gets the residents involved with helping her, it's amazing
how many ways and ideas she gets them to work with her.
Also talented people from the musical world to entertain residents, visitors and dare I say staff to enjoy.

I find the general appearance and comfort of this care home much improved since refurbishment over the last year or two. The staff are kind and attentive to the residents, especially to my daughter who is very severely handicapped and has special needs. Previously there was a weakness with admin and
vital paperwork, I understand with recent staff changes this has been amended.

My husband has been in The Vines Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre for nearly 20 years so that in itself shows that I have always been more than happy with the care he receives. Over this period, the staff have always done their best for him, both in his physical and mental care. I would not want him to ever
leave The Vines as after I visit him I can come away knowing that all his needs are taken care of and all the staff know him very well.

My Psychologist, appointed by the Priory Group, left suddenly for her own reasons. She did not talk to me about this action, or discuss how I would deal with what I felt as a rejection. I was hurt and upset. Neither did she recommend a replacement, so I have been left in a desperate situation.
