My mum recently passed away at the Borrins aged 102. She was there for more than 2 years and I'm sure she would not have reached this age without her stay here.
I can't fault the care she has had. All the staff have been very caring and looked after my mum who was very much an individual, right to
the end.
I am very grateful to them all.

My wife recently left The Borrins Care Home, after spending over two months there following medical treatment for serious bone injuries. The home is a well adapted large Tudor style building in a peaceful and leafy part of Baildon. It is clean, well decorated and furnished. There is a pleasant, settled
'homely' feel to the place. This is due to thoughtful and effective management and to the obvious dedication of the staff. During the time that my wife spent there she felt contented, comfortable and well cared for. As a regular visitor I appreciated the warm welcome that was always extended to me. This is an excellent care home!

The Borrins Care Home

Mum moved in to the Borrins Care home in Oct 2023. She quickly settled in and I can say she saw The Borrins as 'home'. Mum wasn't cared for by staff, she was cared for by 'friends'. Whilst we are a close family, these friends became an extension of her daily social life, with wonderful interaction and
humour. The Borrins may not be a modern care home but the exceptional and attentive time given to mum was invaluable. What use are the newest and latest facilities, if it doesn't have compassion.

In her last couple of months in poor health, the care went up another level providing end of life care. And she left that home as impeccably dressed and made up, as the first day she walked in.

The outstanding care and approach starts with the care home manager and transcends down the line. There are just too many carers to mention special thanks to.

We got from the Borrins everything we hoped for and more. Thank you so much for caring for our mum and the friendship you provided her.

My mum was in Borrins Care Home from March 2024. I instantly liked the home and I was made to feel very welcome. Mum's care was very professional and showed genuine love and care for her well-being and indeed my own.
Unfortunately, my mum ended up in an end-of-life care situation with the support
of the district nurse. This is when I saw even more of the workings of the home and the amazing staff. They cared for both my mum and myself at this time. In my mum's last days, I chose to stay by my mum's side. I'll never be able to thank the staff enough for what they helped me through. These people are just incredible and deserve far more than I'm sure their salaries reward them. They show a genuine love for others. Far more than 'just a job' I'll never forget the staff who cared for my mum and me at this time. I'm unable to put into words enough praise for the team at Borrins but they know what I'm trying to say. Thank you for everything. You're amazing people with hearts of gold. Bless you.

Mum went into The Borrins during Covid following a broken hip. She settled in well and loved all the staff, the food, the company, and the activities. She had a new lease of life. During Covid the staff coped extremely well in very difficult circumstances. Mum enjoyed her time there and had a lovely
room overlooking the gardens where she could watch the squirrels and birds. When Mum suffered a series of strokes The Borrins staff gave her the most amazing care, love, and support including helping myself and my family cope. Mum decided she wanted to remain at The Borrins at the end of her life and she passed away peacefully in Feb 2024, she was surrounded by people who knew her so well. She received the most wonderful care, support, love, and attention during her final days. I cannot thank all the staff and management enough for the care she received throughout her time there. It does feel like a special place and one Mum called home.

Westfield House Care Home

My dad came to Westfield House Care Home after a short stay at another care home as that was a short-term placement after a very bad fall resulting in him losing a lot of his mobility.
He has been there for just under a year now and has made himself at home amongst the caring team at Westfield House.
More
than that, his confidence has grown once again - with the team encouraging him to use his iPad and one member of staff went out of her way to source a more modern mobile phone on her day off (so that all he had to do was go and pay for it and take the sim out of the one we bought him) so she could show him how to use it and get him up to speed.
Dad is one of the lucky ones that is able to have some independence and can when he feels up can walk up to the local shop or down a nice quiet lane to get some fresh air.
Long may his time be happy there.

Ashgrove House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum went to live at Ashgrove nearly a year ago, after quite traumatic circumstances. All the staff, especially two of them were just wonderful. They gave us limitless kindness, understanding and support and that continues every day whenever we need it.
Because of the staff, Ashgrove House, in my
opinion, stands head and shoulders above other care homes. It really does feel like a home from home. It has such a warm and friendly atmosphere, there is always laughter and chatter and it seems like one big happy family. My mum has flourished since she moved there and I feel confident that she has the best quality of life possible.
It's also reassuring to know that the staff have so much experience, knowledge and endless patience. It is very apparent how much the staff care about each of the residents and they go above and beyond to make their lives as happy and comfortable as possible. The manager is an inspiration. I can only imagine how challenging her role must be.

Burley Hall Care Home

I am living in Switzerland and had made occasional visits to see my sister and her husband.
There were already clear signs that my sister required more attention and care than he could cope with. After the passing of the latter, it became even more urgent that she be in an institution with not only
professional care, but an environment to which she could still relate.
Burley Hall Care Home was the perfect solution. The attention they give to all of their residents is a real tribute to their professionalism, but perhaps more importantly, genuine respect and care for each and every individual.
My visit to Burley Hall last week only reinforced my admiration for the ongoing staff, who genuinely lighten the atmosphere for all of their residents, whilst remaining professional and understanding. Thank you and with great respect to your dedication.

Throughout mum's stay at Burley Hall, she was treated with kindness and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and any issues were dealt with promptly. Mum came to see Burley Hall as her home and was very happy and content. Mum built up a good relationship with many of the staff who got
to know her well. Her end-of-life care was amazing - from management, carers, kitchen staff etc. Their kindness extended to all of the family. I cannot thank them enough. They made mum's last moments peaceful and comfortable.

I cannot praise the manager and staff at Westfield House Care Home high enough. All the staff were amazing, so caring and thoughtful towards my mum and my dad who visited regularly. It was a very difficult time, particularly towards the end, but the love that they showed to my mum was awesome. Although
mum only went there for respite care, it became obvious that she would not be able to return home. The manager made sure that Mum stayed at Westfield until the end, where she was extremely well cared for and safe.
Thank you so much.

I gave The Crest a five-star review two years ago when my wife moved into the home. I have no reason why I should change my opinion, the building is not the Ritz but it is comfortable, clean, warm and secure. The staff are excellent efficient and compassionate and the manager keeps us informed about
any issues. Well done to all keep up the good work.

Our dad was here for just under 2 years. He received the best and most personal care unfortunately that we couldn't give. The staff always knew who we were and talked to us lots and had good communication when doctors came. When dad passed they were compassionate and asked how we were, whereas they
looked after him 24 hours a day and could see they were upset but professional at all times. As a family, we wouldn't have wanted dad anywhere else and we are grateful for the care of all the carers and everyone who worked there. What an amazing job they did looking after him. We are very grateful and a massive thank you to everyone. Love from all.

My mum came to Westfield House for a short respite stay following multiple hospital admissions.
My mum was incredibly resistant to going, and it took her a while to settle in. However, I cannot praise the staff for their patience, understanding of some of the difficulties and caring attitude.
During
her stay, she had many appointments at the hospital that I couldn't always take her to due to living over 100 miles away. Even at short notice, staff were able to organise and chaperone her. I cannot thank them enough for this.
Very good communication with the manager, who was always available to offer advice.
Also, a special mention to three members of staff who my mum was particularly fond of. However, all the staff were amazing; I just cannot mention them all.
I was very sad when her stay came to an end, and I know even though she is pleased she is home, she misses the care she was given, not to mention the endless cups of tea and cake!

Mum has been in Straven House for two years now, recently becoming frailer and requiring palliative care. The staff are all very attentive, often popping in just to chat with her. The senior staff are very proactive and ensure families are kept fully informed and involved, even through the Covid epidemic,
they made every effort to facilitate visits wherever possible and excellent communication methods when it wasn't. It is a small home, which enables a cosy family feel whenever I visit. I am very happy with the care Mum receives.

My dad had a short stay of 12 days with Westfield House in September 2022. My dad has always been hesitant about spending time in a care home as he used to work in the industry and had some poor experiences.
My dad said that Westfield House was fantastic, the staff were lovely, warm, welcoming and
very friendly. He said that the food was "excellent" which is high praise from him
Following his stay at Westfield House, my dad is now asking to go back and live there permanently which is the highest compliment he can give them.
I would also like to say as a daughter of a service user I have been very happy with the care he received, the staff have been fabulous and welcoming and appear to have a genuine interest in their residents and want the best outcomes for them.
Thanks to all.
