My short period of respite care proved to be very helpful and supportive. The staff made every effort to provide the special diet and I needed for all my meals at that time. Visitors were made very welcome, and it was good to be ale to have tea and cake with them in the little cafe.

My dad has been at Leah Lodge 6 months now, and we are very happy with the care he has received. The medical care he has access to is excellent, and the individual attention and support he has received since moving in are really great.
The staff are informally kind and attentive, and my dad is as
happy and secure as we could ask for.

I have had respite care at Eden Court for 4 weeks and 2 days after having an Unicompartmental Knee Replacement. The building gives the impression of a give star hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The care staff excellent. The rooms are attractive and comfortable. The courtyard garden in the
centre of the complex has attractive comfortable chairs, shady umbrellas, flowers and a quietly splashing water feature giving an air of tranquillity and calm. Eden Court is well kept and clean. The food is excellent with a choice of menus, plus sandwiches or omelette if one prefers. Fire alarms are tested each week. Like all private care homes it is expensive but one gets value for money in pleasant calm surroundings.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming (everyone says hello as you walk by), caring and professional. From senior carers to admin staff to Reception, we have had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend Rokewood Court if you need a care home for a relative. It feels like a hotel with care
if you need it. This has been a great transition from having carers at home. And the food looks amazing! A safe and secure environment with very supportive staff. Any questions or queries dealt with quickly and efficiently.

My father was taken into Leah Lodge Care Home after a fall at home and my mother struggled to care for him at home. He was 94-year-old. I was very apprehensive about Care Homes, but Leah Lodge were fantastic. Dad had dementia and the way the staff encouraged and included him in activities and outings
brought him out of himself. The staff are marvelous and I would definitely recommend the whole team. Well done and thank you Leah Lodge.

Our uncle has been at Leah Lodge for 6 years and in all that time he has been very happy, has received exceptional care and we have 100% confidence in this home. He is always treated with dignity and respect, but also like one of the family. We feel very welcome when we visit and our uncle enjoys
the opportunities for trips out and the events organised within the home.
Staff exceptionally kind and professional, regular routine visits from the doctor, we are always updated on any change of medication, jabs, etc.
We are extremely glad to have found this wonderful place for our uncle and would recommend to anyone.

I cannot speak highly enough of Leah Lodge and its staff. My mum, who has moderate Alzheimer's, moved in a month ago. We were both worried about this big step as she had been living with me and my family but we really needn't have been. The staff were so supportive throughout the decision-making and
moving-in process and Mum settled in quickly. She is very happy in her new home and enjoys the activities, especially the outings (she has been to a local school, to church and Gardens) and has already made a couple of friends! The staff are caring, positive and friendly and always willing to listen however busy they are. The best thing for us as a family is that we can relax knowing that Mum is so well looked after and it's great to see her living her own life again having been so dependent on us. We love visiting her at Leah Lodge, sitting in the cafe having tea and cake or relaxing in the beautiful garden. It's such a warm and welcoming atmosphere!

I am super happy with the care that Leah Lodge provides for my mum. Mum moved into Leah Lodge in Oct 2024 and she has done nothing but thrive. All the staff are not only caring but lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. She joins in with all the activities and when they go out on days out
she has a great time.

It has been a great relief to know that mum is in such wonderful hands.

Eden Court

from Janice B (Respite Resident) published on 22 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My husband, who has later stage Alzheimer's, and I stayed at Eden Court in a care suite for three weeks while work was carried out in our apartment and I was unable to care for him at home. As neither of us had stayed in a residential care home before I was somewhat uncertain beforehand of how the
stay would go. However, within minutes of our arrival it became clear that the words "care" and "home" are truly fitting at Eden Court.

It is rare to find any organisation where every member of staff on every level and in every department is so unfailingly cheerful, helpful, reassuringly competent and well trained. Every resident, whatever their needs, is treated with warmth, patience and understanding, and throughout the whole of Eden Court there is an extremely pleasant and friendly atmosphere.

I consider that we were very lucky to have had the opportunity of staying at Eden Court. It has given me great insight and reassurance for future care needs that either of us may require.

Be warned. Fees rise very sharply, punishing longer term residents. Each year fees have increased well above inflation; after 3 years we are now paying an extra £3000 per month, considerably more than new residents do for the same care. This is an injustice but management are indifferent to our objections,
caring only about their profits.

Reply from Sue Hill, General Manager at Leah Lodge Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're so pleased you've rated us highly in key areas-especially the quality of care, the dignity shown to residents, and the food and drink we offer. It means a great deal to know these aspects are meeting your expectations and enriching your loved one's daily life. We're genuinely sorry to hear your concerns about fee increases. Please be assured these decisions are never made lightly or driven by profit. Like many, we've faced steep rises in essential costs-staffing (including mandated minimum wage increases), food, energy, and other core services-many of which have outpaced our fee adjustments. We remain committed to managing these pressures fairly and transparently, ensuring all residents continue to receive consistent, high-quality care in a safe, supportive environment. We're always open to discussing individual concerns directly. Thank you again for your kind words, honest feedback and continued trust in our team.

From walking through the front entrance into reception the atmosphere is very friendly and obviously very professional. From receptionists, to carers who attend to everyday matters to the senior care teams. Looking after our more medical requirements you are able to get quality answer to many questions
with a smile altogether a very good team.

We have all been really happy with the care provided at Leah Lodge. My stepdad settled in quickly, and is very fond of the staff, telling us how well they look after him. He has really enjoyed some of the activities, and the activities staff are outstanding. The care is very good and staff are quick
to communicate any concerns. He says the food is great, and it's nice to have the cafe area to sit and talk when we visit. It has been a huge relief to know that he is safe and well cared for. I could never have imagined someone so fiercely independent would be happy in a care home, but it has suited him remarkably well.

Management and all the team at Leah Lodge provided our family with exceptional support when we needed it the most. On entering a care home setting for the first time, Dad presented significant challenges to the team and his family and the Leah Lodge team worked with him and the family with great care,
sensitivity and compassion. We, the family, our very pleased to be able to recommend Leah Lodge to readers considering placing a loved one in their care - our experience has been a very positive one, in very difficult circumstances.
