Mum was diagnosed with dementia a couple of years ago . We were keen to keep her in her own home for as long as possible, but after a number of falls it became clear that for her own safety and well being she would need to receive 24 hour support .
We found Leah Lodge through a friend , whose mum had
stayed .
My sister and I went to meet Jessica , the Home Admissions Advisor , and she showed us round and helped put our kind at rest . Mum was a little anxious about moving from the family home , but I have to say that from the moment she moved in on 11th April 2025 , she was made to feel welcome , sage and looked after . The staff were wonderful and always looked out for mum, giving us regular updates . I visited every week to take mum out , and was always impressed at how welcoming and friendly the staff were ! Mum settled in very quickly , and had a very good year there . Sadly she passed away on 5th April this year .. once again the staff couldn't have been more supportive! Thanks !
Reply from Jessica Tettey, Rectory & Leah Lodge HAA at Leah Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind review. It was our pleasure to care for your mum for the past year.

Our whole team is extremely appreciative of your feedback and we are delighted to hear about your positive experience.

It is truely encouraging to all of us to continue providing the highest standard of care for all of our residents.

The minute I walked through the doors of Rectory Court I knew I had found the right place for my mother. She was delighted with her room and encouraged to make it her own.Care is 'person led' at Rectory which meant staff quickly got to know her and embraced who she was.She felt comfortable and safe.We
all did , at Rectory.
In these last stages of her life the team with their flexible and imaginative approaches to care offered mum choice and control in her day to day living. The atmosphere in the home has a gentleness about it.Staff are friendly and open. There are opportunities for social connection with a wide array of activites and groups if that's what you like but also places to be quiet and peaceful. The gardens are stunning ! Staff across the board were always approachable and kind ready to talk through anything if I had a worry .Mum was extremely happy at Rectory. We are truly grateful.

Mum has been a resident for four years. During that time she has been extremely well looked after. She is very much treated as an individual, with all staff using her name. A lot of time is taken to meet her needs and my sister and I are delighted we found Rokewood.

The carers and all staff at Rokewood Court are really professional, pleasant and helpful and supportive. During the decision-making process, when choosing a care home for my aunt, who has moved up from Devon to live near me, I visited many other care homes in the area, and I am more than happy with
the choice we made as it far outstrips the others in many areas - comfort and ambience being top of the list. Whenever I mention to friends that my aunt is living at Rokewood Court they are truly impressed.

He came back happy and refreshed.
His room was very nice and quiet but too warm for him! The allocated carer was very nice and attentive. Lawrence would love to come back sometime!

My husband has been in care for 14 months now. he has become very settled under the care of all the staff who are seeing to his needs most of the day. He looks forward to each of his meals and often discusses how good they are. The laundry is excellent in every way. To date we have had no complaints.
Thank you.

Having a relative in Eden Grange is an enormous relief. A huge weight and stress has been taken from me, and now I can enjoy visiting without worrying what happens between visits. The people I love are safe and warm and well looked after, socially, medically and physically. But more than that, they
are valued as individuals; staff know them and their likes and dislikes and try hard to make them happy and engaged and comfortable.

Eden Court has been the best choice I have made for my husband, who suffered from dementia. The place is charming and welcoming, clean, esthetic and inviting. The programme is full on, with several concerts every week, pet stroking, activities with children, choir in the nearby library and many day
trips. But what makes it really special is the quality of carers who are genuine and loving, and work very hard to ensure that residents are happy and well looked after. They are smiling and helpful and give the place a feel of home. The management is reachable and attentive, always resolving any issues. I cannot recommend Eden Court enough.
Reply from George Bacon, Resident Service Advisor at Eden CourtThank you very much for this lovely review. We are so proud of our brilliant team for creating and maintaining our beautiful home that our residents can call home.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our mother moved into Eden Court this year and lived very happily for 3 months until her death. She was welcomed and made to feel cared for by everyone. Each member of staff from management to the nursing staff, cleaners, housekeepers and catering staff made her feel valued and honoured. It is a big
step for anyone to move into residential care with the inevitable loss of independence and autonomy, but the Eden Court team made the transition as smooth and as caring as possible.
We were very grateful for the preparation made for our mother's passing and the information shared with us was invaluable in terms of what to expect, the signs of decline, the support, both medical and practical, in this transitional time was very much appreciated.
We cannot recommend Eden Court more highly and will always be grateful for the care of a very special team.
Reply from Yetty Adepegba, Village Manager at Eden CourtThank you so much for your kind review. Leah Lodge has been wonderful for our mum, who has advanced dementia. She was very anxious about moving into full-time care, but within days she relaxed and began to thrive. The staff are kind, patient, professional and genuinely caring. Mum often tells us how safe and happy she feels, and how relieved
she is not to worry about chores anymore. The food is excellent, and we're always welcomed to eat with her when visiting. The home is immaculate - more like a boutique hotel than a care home. Staff treat residents with dignity, learn their preferences, and support them beautifully even on difficult days. A moment that stood out was seeing a staff member greet Mum with a hug and say she'd missed her - it showed how loved she is there. We only wish we'd made the move sooner. We highly recommend Leah Lodge to anyone looking for dementia care.

Rokewood Court has been a life raft for both me and my father in providing appropriate support and care allied with kindness, respect and understanding in the last phase of his life. I needed to find a care home swiftly to enable my father to leave the hospital, and Rokewood Court responded handsomely.
My confidence and trust that there are care homes that really do care and provide competent and consistent levels of assistance has been rejuvenated. I am so grateful for the friendly, supportive environment and everyone who contributes to that.

Rectory Court Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
From the moment our mum moved to Rectory Court she, and us as her family, were welcomed into a lovely caring, kind and compassionate environment. Mum was treated as an individual and respected as a person. Care was taken to understand what her interests were and she went from living on her own, with
family support, to have a busy and fulfilled last chapter of her life, that her family could also take part in. It is never easy to make the decision to move to a care home but she and we made absolutely the right decision to choose Rectory Court. The care was great and even when things went wrong, as of course they do from time to time, the response was always immediate and appropriate. We felt the staff, especially the Manager, GP, Events Coordinate and the carers really cared about mum and us and went out of their way to make mum's last 3 years the best it could be and along the way we made some good friends. Thank you.
