My Mother came in for a respite and we were overwhelmed by the positive and friendly staff,
I felt from the very start this was a caring and professional home. I can not recommend it enough, I was concerned at leaving mum here but those worries were soon dispelled and more importantly mum felt the
same.

Until the time comes when you have to make the decision to move your loved one into residential care, I don't think anyone can comprehend how much responsibility you feel to get it right & the emotional effect it will have on all the family. With WV they made the process as easy as possible with guidance
& support all the way. Mums needs were fully assessed & they were open & reassuring. After a negative experience with another home, we were desperate that everything had to be right so the process was done at our pace which helped us all adapt to the change & made mums move into the home as stress free as possible in the circumstances. Mum has been at WV for a couple of months & has settled so much better than expected. This is full credit to all the staff who are so friendly, caring & continuously demonstrate that their priority is the residents with the care, compassion & fun they show to everyone. It's a friendly, happy environment and immaculate throughout.
Reply from Helen Cox, Home Admissions Advisor at Wellington Vale Care HomeThank you for your kind and thoughtful review. We understand how difficult this decision can be, so we're really glad we could support you and make the process feel comfortable and at your own pace. It's wonderful to see how well mum has settled in and we are proud that our team has made a positive impact. Your kind words about the care, compassion, and environment mean a great deal to us.
Thank you again for your trust.

Having resided here for over 3 years, I have found this home superb in every way with kindness, understanding and warmth. The staff and the amenities are excellent and worthy of mentioning in high places. A particular note of the warmth and kindness of the carers. Many of them cannot do more to improve
the smooth running and welcome here. It is of a very high standard and I would always recommend it. I came here to be with my wife who had dementia who unfortunately is no longer here. I am happy to spend the rest of my life here with feelings of thankfulness, residing in the best.
Reply from Jennifer Edwards-Hutt, HAA at Sunnybank House Care HomeThank you for sharing such a heartfelt and meaningful review. We are truly honoured by your words and deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in us over the past three years.

It means so much to hear that you have found Sunnybank to be a place of kindness, warmth, and understanding. Our team is incredibly dedicated, and your recognition of their care and compassion, especially during such an important and emotional time in your life will mean a great deal to them.

We were deeply saddened by the loss of your wife, and it was a privilege to have supported you both during her time with us. Please accept our heartfelt condolences once again.

It continues to be a privilege to support you, and we are committed to ensuring you always feel at home, valued, and cared for.

I cannot fault the care but I find Management very slow to respond to emails. I also was shocked at the annual increase which equates to £700 a month and this is around 9%. This means our money is dwindling. Never once in the time my relative has been there have they checked in for any financial support
check we are ok. Our money will run out in around 8 months. There's never a suggestion of chat to us. I feel really quite disappointed with this. I find the new manager less friendly than the old one and overall I am not feeling particularly happy with the home right now. Just to be clear a recent review put costs up at £8k per month. Up by £700 per month. Care staff are lovely but I feel management is a bit of a let down.
Reply from Charlotte Dean, Home Admissions Advisor at Hartwood House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on carehome.co.uk.

We are very pleased to hear your positive comments about the care and support provided to your loved one, and we truly appreciate you awarding us the maximum score for care. Delivering high-quality, compassionate care is our top priority, so it is very encouraging for the team to know this is recognised.

We are sorry to hear about your concerns regarding administration and communication. Following your review on google, we are aware our General Manager did make contact to discuss this with you; however, we understand it was not a convenient time to continue the conversation. Our General Manager is available to speak further at a time that suits you and remain available whenever it is convenient for you to continue the discussion.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback with us. It is always valuable in helping us improve, and we look forward to speaking with you soon.

Nobody wants their loved ones to go into care, but if and when it happens, Abbotswood Court, in my honest opinion nis as good as it gets. My dad used to own care homes, and they were of a very high standard. Ironically, he now resides in one, and I am happy to say that it is of the same high standard
that, as a proprietor, he expected. Well done!

We were faced with a challenging family situation where our Sister ,who has always lived by herself, was no longer able to cope in her home resulting in hospitalisation. As her home is totally unsuitable for safe living we needed to find a solution before being discharged from hospital.. The priority
was to place her in a care home that ticked all the boxes, was close to family and a home that we felt we would like to be in ourselves.. We identified five local Care homes and awarded them marks in our rating system. Abbotswood came up top with maximum points. Right from the start the Team were very helpful in guiding us through this difficult decision and by the second visit our minds were made up.
It took no time at all for our Sister to settle in at Abbotswood Court and she is able to receive regular visits from our family.. Did we make the right decision? Definitely.....
Thank you to all the staff and we look forward to being part of the Abbotswood Family.

After months of finding it difficult to cope at home by herself and coming out of a two week hospital stay on the Isle of Wight, we were faced with the challenge of what to do next. Our Sister had no family on the IOW so we visited six local Care homes on the mainland which were accessible to the family
in the New Forest. We gave each Care Home a rating for different aspects including ' Would we be Happy in the chosen Home ourselves'? Hartwood House came up with maximum points so our decision was easily made. The Staff were very helpful and made our Sister welcome from the very start. This is a difficult time for both our Sister and the rest of the family but it is great to know she is in the best place, being cared for and the family can visit with ease. Instead of being isolated on the Isle of Wight our Sister has come Home!
Reply from Charlotte Dean, Home Admissions Advisor at Hartwood House Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about Hartwood House. It really does mean so much to us and I will share this with the team.

Our team works hard to ensure every resident feels welcome, safe, and truly at home, so it means a great deal to know this has been your experience from the very beginning. We're also pleased that being closer to family has made such a positive difference.

From my very first visit with my mother who suffers with dementia, I knew Abbotswood Romsey provided every aspect of care my mother required.
Annya provided a superb introduction, detailing every provision.
Together with my mother, we witnessed rooms she was likely to obtain, restaurants, lounges
including the grounds.
In addition, we were introduced to other residents whom all appeared happy and content.
Staff also introduced themselves . It was as if they had known my mother for years !
Now I can confirm a decision was easy to make. My mother is an Abbotswood resident. Warm, engaged with numerous activities, well fed and well cared for with the very best attentive staff
Thank you Annya, thanks to all staff and thank you Abbotswood.
