I could not ask for better treatment . The staff were all excellent and fully competent whatever was asked of them. Words alone can not express adequately my satisfaction of the service I received. Food was excellent in both quality and choice. A glass of wine with the meal went down very well.

Hartwood House is an absolutely marvellous care home. My husband was there for two weeks respite care whilst I was away. The staff were amazing and bent over backwards to make him feel welcome. The standards at Hartwood House are like a 4/5 star hotel, wine with lunch and a great menu for all meals.

Reply from Charlotte Dean, Home Admissions Advisor at Hartwood House Care Home

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was our absolute pleasure to look after your Husband for those 2 weeks! It is really important for us to offer lots of choice at meal times and give the residents a restaurant experience, so thank you for that lovely feedback. As we said on his departure, he is welcome back anytime (as are you - pop in for a cup of tea soon!).

My Dad was cared for with kindness & compassion throughout the 11 months he lived there. His medical needs were also met in the same way & with very high professional standards. I cannot fault the care he recieved & would highly reccomend this Care Home to anyone thinking of becoming a resident
or looking for a Care Home for a family member. Once again I will use the word 'kindness' as that epitomises the Care that my Dad receievd.

Reply from Helen Dunning, Home Admissions Advisor at Wellington Vale Care Home

Initial introduction tour of facilities was very good and informative.
Weekend cover light on staff, we had a long wait to gain access.
Special dining was very good and the celebration for mother in laws 106th birthday was very good.

Wellington Vale Care Home is an outstanding facility. From the minute you walk in the door the attention to detail and professionalism of ALL the staff is obvious. Everyone from the chef to the senior nurses are welcoming, friendly and absolutely on top of their job. The decor, public spaces and individual
rooms are all bright and airy and well designed to meet the needs of the residents. I cannot fault the care given to my father in law and throughout his 11 month stay was repeatedly surprised (and grateful) for the level of care and the effort put in to ensure all his needs were catered for. Despite having advanced dementia he was happy and settled. The management staff are completely approachable and always available to discuss any queries. I doubt there is a better Care Home out there.

Hartwood House is such an amazing home. My nannie is so happy here and that's a testament to the high level of care that she receives and the incredible staff that work here. Every time I enter the building the people inside are happy and welcoming. The quality of life that every resident receives is
just phenomenal. Worth every penny to see Nannie thriving (and socialising again!). I cannot recommend this home anymore, thank you to all of you.

Mum was a resident for 2.5 years, during which time she received excellent care. The whole team are professional, caring, empathetic & showed Mum great kindness. Mum could be challenging on occasions but time after time, staff went the extra mile & more to meet her needs, always with tremendous interpersonal
skills & good humour. There were several occasions when she was ill & had hospital stays but she was always very pleased to return to Abbotswood, where her care from the team was outstandingly good. Mum was always commenting on how kind the staff were. From my prospective, Abbotswood took a great weight off my shoulders. I know she was extremely well looked after. I was always kept fully updated on Mum's health & care needs & on one occasion the quick thinking & professionalism of the staff probably saved her life. Abbotswood Court is an excellent care home, which I would thoroughly recommend & is why a second member of my family has recently become a resident.

My grandmother has lived at Abbotswood for 2.5 years and him that time I've seen her receive excellent care from dedicated staff who really get to know the residents and take time and care to best meet their needs. Repeatedly staff and the manager have gone above and beyond what I could have expected,
to meet my grandmother's needs, respond to her requests and make Abbotswood Court truly feel like home. I highly recommend them to anyone considering moving here, or supporting a relative considering moving here.
Her room is lovely, menu and food choices are very tasty, and there is a wealth of activities that can be enjoyed as well as sitting in the lovely gardens or accessing the local community. But it's the way the staff make you feel that really counts, always warm and welcoming, clearly capable, competent and well trained, and always taking the time to truly care for residents in the very broadest sense of the word. The manager provides great hands on leadership to a brilliant team.

My mother-in-law has settled in so well to Wellington Vale, having moved in just before Christmas. She had been reluctant to take the step but has actually enjoyed letting go of all the day to day problems running a house entailed. She loves the garden, especially the wild life that can be seen from
her penthouse and the fact that someone else cuts the grass and hedges! She's made good friends there and the nurses, carers and activities team are dedicated and very understanding of her needs and wants. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, whether that is planting flowers from her old garden, having a chat whilst cleaning her room, sorting out a sticky door or booking her in for a hair cut.

The team at Wellington Vale have made Mum very welcome since she moved in. Although feeling uncertain about the home, she has been very well cared for and now loves her new home. She has made new friends and loves the staff who care for her. She loves the meals and has put weight on since relocating.
She enjoys most of the activities, especially the balloon volleyball and trips out.

The facilities are amazing and the staff so welcoming, engaging and helpful, both to Mum and us.

I visit my friend twice a week and I am just so pleased with everything here at Hartwood House. My friend was so worried about coming in but she calls this her new home. The staff have become her family and to see the way she has come out of her shell is inspiring. She is now eating far better than
she was before, she looks so happy and healthy and I genuinely believe this is from the outstanding care given by the staff at this home.

Reply from Charlotte Dean, Home Admissions Advisor at Hartwood House Care Home

What lovely words, thank you so much from all of the team here at Hartwood House. It makes us so happy to hear that she is coming out of her shell, its so hard coming into a social environment when you have been on your own for so long. We like to take the time to get to know each resident and encourage them to participate and socialise when they are ready to do so. Our chef visits also play such a huge part in us getting to know the likes and dislikes of all of our residents, this helps us to provide food that we know they will enjoy. We have all seen such a huge improvement with this particular resident and we are so happy to have her here with us.

Outstanding value for money. Sunnybank cannot be praised enough for the kind compassionate care that they provide to my sister in law. As they say you get what you pay for and Sunnybank are worth every penny. The staff are always on hand to help and ensure that her needs are met. They all take the time
to know her personally which cannot be said for other homes. The rooms and the communal areas are kept spotlessly clean. Food is of a high standard and the menu is kept varied and interesting. It was as everyone finds a very difficult decision to place a loved one in a care home but our decision has been vindicated with the quality of care that Sunnybank provides.

Reply from Jessica Wooldridge, Home Admissions Advisor at Sunnybank House Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt review. We are truly honoured to have earned your trust and to be a part of your sister-in-law's care journey. At Sunnybank, our mission is to provide not just care, but a home where every resident feels valued, understood, and well supported. It means the world to us that you noticed the dedication of our team in taking the time to truly connect with our residents, as well as our efforts to maintain a clean, welcoming environment and deliver high-quality, varied meals. We're also so grateful that you felt reassured by your decision during what is undoubtedly one of life's more difficult moments.Your words encourage us to continue striving for excellence, and we're so glad we could provide peace of mind and care for your family.
