Sydney House

My mum celebrated her 106th birthday on 17-11-25 at Sydney House. Care staff painted her nails and gave her a shampoo and set, ready for her big day! She needs assistance with getting up, and wanted to get up early!! Staff obliged!!
So much fuss was made of her; she (and I) were amazed. Local school
children attended to sing Happy Birthday. Thanks to Nathan, who organised a balloon arch and this meant blowing up 200 balloons (he did have a pump for this), Georgina ensured all went smoothly. The local press were invited, and mum was a "page 3 girl" the next day, not bad for 106!! Many thanks to all the staff for a wonderful day for my mum.

Thank you to the Management staff and carers at Mayflower who looked after my sister with dignity, love and kindness over the last 2 years. The staff did everything they could to ensure that her quality of life was as good as it could be. The family found great comfort in knowing that she was in a safe
and comfortable place at Mayflower. Thank you to the Management team for all their help and continuous support, and thank you to the carers and district nurse who attended to her in her final days. I, on behalf of all my family, are truly grateful to you all.
Reply from Charli Alderton, Manager at Mayflower CourtDear Wendy, thank you for sharing such a lovely review. Caring for R over the past two years was truly our pleasure. I will ensure that the team are aware of the lovely comments.

I visit Rose Meadow regularly in my role as a volunteer advocate. The premises are always clean and tidy and the staff helpful and friendly. I'm unable to comment on food and drink, activities or value for money but the residents I have met have had no complaints and refreshments between meals are offered
with several choices. The management team are helpful and considerate.

We had a problem with my father's meds, and the doctor would not listen.
Harker House was brilliant. They helped and supported my family as well as my father during this very stressful time.
The staff you could not ask for better care and support.
It was my parents' 60th wedding anniversary, and
they organised a small party for them and invited friends and family.

My Dad is at present in Mayflower Court. He has vascular dementia and Parkinson's.
He is also prone to many illnesses as he has over the years had 3 different lots of cancer. The care and support he is given by the teams is one of professionalism and passion. The management are attentive and respond
immediately to requests from us as a family. Communication is very good all round and on several occasions he has had many hospital emergency's, which have been supported well. As a family we really do feel that our Dad is well cared for and made to feel like a he is a real person and not a number. Thank you to all the team and Management for your ongoing loving care and support.

I moved into The Meadows in July after being looked after at home for one month. There is no comparison, the care given here is second to none. When I was at home I was permanently fearful of the carers coming into my home. Here I feel safe, relaxed, happy and content. For a woman of 93, I feel thats
how it should be. Thank you.

I was worried sick over my mothers health and care provided at mums home. She was vulnerable and the carers were absolutely dreadful. So much so my mum was deteriorating in front of my very eyes.
We were fortunate to get a place here and my mum has flourished. The staff are caring kind and patient
and most of all sympathetic to her needs. She has a soft spot for their care and their compassion. Best move we made! Mum is happy again!

I am happy my mum is cared for, but unfortunately the lack of activity to stimulate the residents does not exist and as this is part of the holistic care package, it is unacceptable. During the 16 months my mum has been a resident at Rebecca Court, there has been only a very limited period of activities.
I am certain my mum would benefit greatly from day-to-day activities, even though she suffers from dementia.
Reply from Michelle Marks, Manager at Rebecca CourtThank you for your review and for raising your concerns with regards to lack of activities. We agree, this has been an ongoing issue and since our Wellbeing Co-Ordinator resigned in June of this year, we have struggled to successfully recruit to the position.
In the absence of a Co-Ordinator, we have arranged for external providers to visit the home, including a lady who holds exercise sessions and a lady who comes with her pat dog who the resident's adore.
Our staff have supported mum when she chose to be responsible for the management of the dining room, she has also been assisting with the fresh flower arranging and will be assisting this week to decorate the home ready for Halloween, with the support of staff and daughter of one of our residents.
We understand the importance of stimulation for those living with dementia as well as for those who do not and are dedicated to recruiting the right person to position as soon as we can to ensure our residents wellbeing.

My sister was a resident at Westfields care home, Swaffham, from May 2024 until September 2025, when she sadly passed away aged 91. During her stay, she was always treated as an individual with courtesy and respect. Nothing was ever too much for the staff and there was an excellent choice of daily
activities. Her medical needs were well looked after, with the local GP matron called in if there was any concern. I was impressed with the standard and choice of food, and cups of tea were always available. Her room was bright and cheery, as were her carers. The management team and admin staff were extremely accommodating, always ready to help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Westfields. Well done, Westfields!

My Mother lived there for the last few years of her life - she recently passed away. Her life there was filled with care, love, compassion and happiness. The staff have been amazing. We have always been made welcome. In the last few weeks of her life they all went above and beyond for her and us, something
I will forever be grateful for. Mum's room had a beautiful view over fields and it was always kept clean. All the rooms are a lovely size with large en-suites. There is always something to keep them entertained. The food was always nourishing and we were always made to feel welcome to stay for a meal. A wonderful home.
