My Down syndrome sister went into Rochester Care Home in February and we were extremely apprehensive because she had never been away from home in her entire life. However, the whole team and the other residents at the care home have received her really well and she has fitted in lovely. She has her
own room that we have filled with her personal belongings, and it is very clean and well maintained.
She is very happy there and safe and well looked after. The team attend to her every need , she eats good nutritious food, and is kept busy and entertained with the activities. The staff are extremely caring and accommodating, they all display excellent knowledge about their residents and are empathetic and attentive. I feel that I can relax knowing that my sister is being well looked after. The manager, the team and the home itself are all 5 star.
Reply from Irene Kinslow, Manager at Rochester Care HomeThank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased she has settled in with all the staff and the residents. It was very emotional time for her and you when moving her in to Rochester. We do understand your apprehension as your sister has always been with her Mum, she has settled in so well and she has made a lot of friends here.

My mum has been in R.C.H almost 1 year and has flourished there. The staff looked after her well and Mum has a laugh and joke most days, especially with a couple of staff in particular and the manager. Mum is a 'people's person' and is happiest amongst them. The warm, caring atmosphere of R.C.H is perfect.
The staff treat Mum with care and respect. Mum enjoys the activities regularly put on and absolutely loves painting and colouring and the music and singing when they have people come in to entertain them. Mum always kept a warm/clean home and she regularly tells me how hard the staff at R.C.H work and how clean they keep it. The food is very good and is enjoyed by Mum.
Reply from Irene Kinslow, Manager at Rochester Care HomeHello Christina, Thank you for taking time to write us this lovely review. The staff work really hard at Rochester , they thrive on giving quality care. Activities coordinators are amazing, it is so important for our residents well-being.

My relative is very settled in the care home, the staff are very friendly and take the time to speak to him when they enter his room. Staff take the time to get to know the residents and their families and they look after the residents.

We feel very grateful for Mum to have moved here. Mum was made to feel very welcome as soon as she arrived at reception. All the staff are extremely friendly and supportive. Everyone we met on that first day were exceptionally helpful and welcoming - whether it was the Management Team, Admin & Reception
Team, Care Team, Building Maintenance Team, Activities Team or Housekeeping Team. Mum's room was scrupulously clean and is very cosy, so she already feels "at home". On Mum's first evening, the Deputy Manager was extremely thoughtful as she kindly emailed a photo of Mum laughing. We can't tell you how appreciative we were and how reassuring that was knowing that Mum was happy. The empathic sensitivity of the staff we have met so far is very clear. This has helped enormously for enabling Mum to adapt seamlessly to her new surroundings. With huge thanks to everyone. .
Reply from Ana Ivascu, home manager at Admiralty Care HomeThank you so much for the kind words. We as a team we are more than happy that you and your loved one had a positive experience at Admiralty care home.

The care home staff were truly amazing, treating my Mum with the respect and dignity she deserved and looking after her , even when ( towards the end if her life) she really should have been transferred for nursing care. Mum viewed the care home as her home and felt safe there. They also looked after
us during Mum's last week , when we were almost residents at the home ourselves and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We really felt Mum was surrounded by love.

Our dad was a resident after choosing to make it home after 2 weeks of respite
Dad enjoyed the whole experience, kind friendly supportive staff and management, activities and the meals, his own ensuite room and homely atmosphere.Interacting with other residents.
Unfortunately dad is no longer living
here due to unforeseen health issues which staff and management dealt with immediately and got him relevant medical support, we cannot thank them all for the care and joy they bought to his life there.
Would definitely recommend Rochester care home for your family member and family support for relatives .
Thankyou all for everything, much appreciated and so grateful for all your support.
Reply from Irene Kinslow, Manager at Rochester Care HomeThank you for this lovely feedback. We wish you well for the future. We miss Dad and your visits.

From the moment mum was admitted 5 years ago, as an emergency for her safety, we knew it was right place for her. Communication is paramount when a loved one is in a care home and this is always maintained, any problems easily resolved, by approachable staff, including managers who have listened and
informed us appropriately.
Mum has been looked after by carers who care and she has built up a good rapport with many of them. They endeavour to maintain her privacy and dignity in all interactions with her and she has enjoyed participating in activities. As her dementia progressed the carers have shown understanding and managed her daily activities accordingly. It was evident when we visit that all staff knew who mum was and they showed her affection, which she often returned.
Recently mum took to her bed and was under end of life care. The care and attention given by staff was exceptional, some giving up part of their break time to sit with her. Incredible!
Reply from Theresa Ward, Manager at Victory Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review, especially during such a difficult time. It means a great deal to the whole team at Victory Care Home to know that we were able to provide the care and support your mum deserved. It was a privilege to care for her and to support your family. We are deeply sorry for your loss, and we offer our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

Mum had Dementia and Alzheimers and we had to make the difficult decision to place her in a Care Home as a Safeguarding measure, during lockdown in 2020. She was welcomed to Victory where she quickly settled in.
She had her ups and downs, contracted Covid, had Pneumonia, suffered many falls during
her constant wandering, last year resulting in a broken arm, but the carers were always quick at keeping us informed and up to date with measures they put in place to keep her safe.
Mum had her 90th birthday last year and the staff allowed us to take over their rest room for a few hours to enable the family to have a small party for her, an act we are very grateful for.
Her health deteriorated quite quickly over the last few weeks and we were welcomed at any time, offered drinks and even a meal at times to enable us to spend precious time with mum.
Sadly she passed away last week but the care and love that mum was given by the staff was very evident and we could not have asked for more.
Reply from Theresa Ward, Manager at Victory Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your heartfelt experience with us during what must have been an incredibly difficult time for you and your family. It is humbling to know that our team was able to provide your Mum with the care, dignity, and compassion she deserved in her final days. Your kind words mean so much to us, as we strive to ensure every resident is treated with the utmost respect and that their families feel supported as well. We are truly grateful for your recognition of our team's efforts and their commitment to providing personalized care. Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. If there is anything we can do for you or your family, please don't hesitate to reach out.

On visiting my friend, I have been very impressed with the reception I have received, the friendliness of staff. My friend is so happy, which is the most important thing, she feels safe. The activities are to a high standard. My friend looks well looked after. The care given seems to be directed around
what the resident wants, which I think is so important. I know that my friend enjoys the food and the freedom of choice.

It is a difficult thing to make a decision to put your mum into care, but unfortunately sometimes necessary. The manager and staff are wonderful, understanding and attentive to mums needs and take great care in ensuring she is put first. They are an asset to the world of care and I sleep better knowing
my mum is now cared for and safe and my stepdad can rebuild his life and become a husband again not just a carer.
Reply from Irene Kinslow, Manager at Rochester Care HomeThank you for this lovely compliment. We know how difficult this time is for family's it takes time and trust we are so happy Mum has settled in well with us.

The staff are always happy and smiling when I visit my mother. They are also very patient with my mother, as she can be difficult at the best of times.
The rooms are clean and tidy, and washing is kept up to date. Staff are on hand to assist or answer any questions regarding the care for my mother.
Overall highly pleased with the care home for my mother.

I could not have asked for a more dedicated care home for my husband, I had great peace of mind, knowing that he was in a safe place, surrounded by people who cared for him as if he were past of their family. Each and everyone one of you provided exceptional care. Unfortunately my husband is no longer
with us but I know he would want me to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your care, kindness and the love you showed my husband. With heartfelt thanks.

My wife has been a resident at Admiralty care home in Wigmore Gillingham for more than three and a half years and I visit her almost every day. I find the staff to be very friendly and caring and they greet me in a most welcoming way. The management team is approachable and reactive when required. In
addition, there is a good range of stimulating social interaction. The home is fragrant and clean and parking is an acceptable part of the overall package.
