Thank you and your lovely staff for making Mum's transition to full time care so easy, showing patience and kindness at all times
Mum feels settled, happy and very well cared for and this is down to you and all at Gainsborough - we can't thank you enough

Reply from The Manager, Registered Manager at Gainsborough Care Home

It has been very stressful for all the families and residents of the care home that closed and we have been glad that we were able to help. Gainsborough tried to do all it could to help the transition go as smoothly as possible, and I'm very happy to read this review that confirms we did actually achieve this.

Blenheim Care Home

from Adam D (Son of Resident) published on 29 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Fantastic team with a clear love for their residents and the service they provide.
My mum had advanced dementia and was initially residing in another care home, where she would be left in bed all day and fed pureed food. When my dad was assessed no longer able to live on his own, we were able to reunite
my parents by moving them both into Blenheim Care Home.
The staff's interest in getting my mum dressed & socialising, in the communal area, with the other residents, resulted in her condition improving, within 2 months, to the point that she was once more able to feed herself & eat solids!
They often have entertainers & animals visiting to keep the residents stimulated. The home is in a beautifully picturesque area of Bournemouth and the staff are super-friendly, always looking to learn more about those in their care, to help shape and personalise the care for each resident. My parent's lives were extended 6-12 months thanks to the care they received from this fantastic team!

Reply from Kerry Upward, Manager at Blenheim Care Home

My father has been a resident for the past four weeks and I travelled to visit this weekend. I was very impressed with the home and how comfortable and homely it is. My Dad took me on a tour around the home and I was certainly impressed. Although he can't remember what he does I was told he joins in
with the other residents and chats with them. He was smiling and happy which is very reassuring. Amazing views from the home and him room.

My Mother has been cared for the past three & half years in Agincourt. I myself live in Ireland. It has been a great ease of mind to myself to see and know that my Mother has been so well cared for and even more importantly comfortable. The staff are so helpful and polite. I phoned from Ireland 2 to
3 times a week and was given a hearty welcome and informed how my Mother was. Talking to my Mother everytime she rang their praises. It was a pleasure to know Agincourt and all the staff. Can not thank them enough.

As a family we could not have wished for a better place, the care was incredible, from the Manager who was incredibly kind.
Two staff members in particular were also incredibly

Also, another member of staff who was lovely and helpful.

Chalgrove Care and Nursing Home

from Luke H (Son of Resident) published on 1 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum has been living at the Edwardian side of Chalgrove Nursing and Care Home for some time now, and I can't thank the team enough for the care and compassion they've shown - not just to her, but to us as a family too.

She moved in following a series of strokes, and her needs have understandably

become more complex over time. The staff have handled everything with a level of professionalism, kindness, and patience that has been so reassuring. From personal care to making sure she feels emotionally supported, they've made a real difference to her quality of life.

What I also want to acknowledge is how they've supported us as a family. Let's just say the family dynamic isn't always straightforward, but the team have always remained friendly, understanding, and helpful - never judging, always trying to do the right thing for Mum. That kind of empathy goes a long way and hasn't gone unnoticed. Would highly recommend

Gainsborough Care Home

from Steven W (Son of Resident) published on 20 June 2025

My mum passed away peacefully on 5th June at Gainsborough, with family around her, after a happy two and a half months as a resident there. Suffering from Alzheimer's, she had become increasingly anxious and unhappy at her previous care home, but the move to the area lifted both her spirits and ours
(her three sons and our families) - it's clear to me this was down purely to the lovely attentive and cheerful staff and a better environment - a nice room with a view of the pretty garden. My heartfelt thanks and gratitude go to the team led by one member of staff in particular, who made her final months a peaceful and relaxed one - we will be forever in your debt for that, thank you. Xxx

Our dedicated team do everything they can to make the lives of our residents better, especially when they are at the end of their journey. Mum was a very special lady, and we are all very sad at her passing. However, we are all so very proud to have been apart of her life. We are very lucky to have a lovely home, and our beautiful garden gives all our residents and their families a place to enjoy.

My mother who has vascular dementia has been at the Gainsborough Care Home since February 2025. She is so happy there, which I never thought I would be able to say! The staff have been excellent at helping her make the difficult transition from home to care home. I cannot speak highly enough of the
staff from admin to catering. The caters are wonderful and mum loves them all. From being confused and anxious she is now relaxed and feels safe. Her room is beautiful and she is able to have her own belongings there to make it more homely. Visitors are always welcome at any time.

Since a new acting manager & deputy have been in place (hopefully permanent) things have been changing for the better. The home now has a nicer more cheerful feel to it. Also with a new entertainment carer the residents will get much needed stimulation. The carers are all extremely friendly & remain
calm in some very difficult situations. Residents always look clean & tidy (with now matching socks) As a family we thank all staff for their care of our loved one.

Gainsborough Care Home

from Simon W (Son of Resident) published on 23 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

My mother recently came to live at the Gainsborough after two and a half years in a different home, who after a less than happy time there they eventually admitted they were "unable to meet her needs". Since mum came to the Gainsborough she has become much happier, far less anxious and regained her
old sense of humour. The nice surroundings (choice of lounges, lots of light coming in, garden etc.) have contributed greatly, but so has the interaction with staff and the community feeling from relatives of other residents, which is generated by an overall feeling of a happy home and led by good management.

Reply from The Manager, Registered Manager at Gainsborough Care Home

We are very lucky to have a wonderful variety of absolutely amazing residents. They are all wonderful to be around and are all part of the Gainsborough family. We do our very best to give all our residents the attention they need and we try to encourage everyone to be part of social interactions. All of our residents are happy to be in Gainsborough, and we are lucky to have wonderful families interacting with other residents as well as their own loved one, in our lovely home.

All staff are very friendly. They all are very supportive towards my mum. When mum was anxious on mothering Sunday (30/03/25) staff/carers were here for mum to reassure her that she was safe. I looked at several potential places when searching for a care home for my mother, but it was obvious to me on entering Agincourt that this is the one that would meet her needs best. The staff work hard, are considerate and kind and treat mum in such a way that she has maintained her dignity. I have
recently received an update and review on mum's care. It is so well detailed and at times so perceptively written that I don't need to ask for more information; and it gives an insight to mum's behaviour that one doesn't necessarily see during a brief visit.
Care homes are challenging environments: each one is different and individual and they won't all suit everyone, so it's worth doing the research.

Reply from Emily Fraher, Marketing Executive at Agincourt

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed feedback. We're so pleased to hear that Agincourt has been the right place for your Mother and that our team has been able to maintain her dignity while providing the care she deserves. It's wonderful to know that the updates we provide have been helpful and offer deeper insights into her well-being. We completely understand that every care home is different, and we're grateful for your trust in us. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for allowing us to care for your Mum.

The care was very good, the carers and nurses were all very caring and considerate to my mother, she was very well. I know the home put on daily activities, the ones I knew about were always very good, but my mother did not attend activities on a daily basis, as she was bedridden most of the time. The
staff did hoist my mother in and out of bed, but eventually she was to frail for that to happen unfortunately
