Swan House Care Home

I went to see my friends mum at Swan House and I have to say what a wonderful experience that my partner and I had. The home was so clean and clean smelling The staff are so helpful and caring nothing is to much. There was an activity going on in the dining area but it was so nice to hear laughter
and so much fun being had by staff and residents such a lovely experience to hear. Staff would pop into us and make sure we was ok which just made us feel so comfortable like we was at home. The manager was so helpful at the start and showed us to my friends mum which surprised us that a manager would take an interest or that you would even see the manager. And even at the end of our visit the manger went out of his way again to make sure our visit went well. What a wonderful care home so well run it is credit to all that work there. If anyone is looking for a nice little care home for a family member Swan house is the place i highly recommend it.

My father stayed at Swan House for two weeks after a total hip replacement.
The home was excellent in welcoming my father and making him feel comfortable. All the staff treated him with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect.
On a personal level, I would like to thank all the staff for the support
they provided to me throughout his stay.

Moving a family member in to a Care Home is a worrying time - what if we choose the wrong place? In the 2 years she's been a resident, that question has never crossed our minds, and it's a even better Home since Lee became the manager, with an excellent locally based senior team. It's a clean and friendly
place with very attentive staff, always popping their head in to offer a cup of tea or a few minutes chat. It's well run and the team seem to enjoy working there, with very few changes over the years or agency staff, which is reassuring for the residents. There is always a wide range of planned activities, encouraging even my M in Law to join in! There is a lovely garden area and plenty of communal space. I've been told she loves being there, loves the team and especially the 'boss man'! I would highly recommend Swan Home - professionally run by people who really care about the residents.

Moving a parent with dementia into a care home is traumatic for all of the family but the management and staff of Swan House have been brilliant. Mum loves the place and having met a lot of the team looking after her, I can understand why. Immaculate facilities, good food, and the care and professionalism
of all the staff is exemplary.

I just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff that took the time to decorate my mum's room for her Birthday today. I was there last week but had to fly home to Spain on Friday and was so pleased to talk to both my mum and dad today to be told she had had a lovely day and had balloons put up
and had been fussed over for her birthday. She sounded really happy. Again a huge thank you for being so kind to both of them you all do a fantastic job and I am so relieved that they are there together being so well looked after xx

My dear Mum who I sadly lost in August this year was in the Chestnuts for three years. Apart from the odd problem, Mum was extremely well cared for and very happy there. I can't thank the Manager and the permanent staff members enough, they were kind, caring and they always went the extra mile. I'll
be forever grateful to them.

Mostly pretty good. The staff seem friendly; however, the lack of communication has hindered the experience. I am LPA, so I should be informed, so things like Mum's washing issue (where I had to take clothes home), lack of clothing (due to lost/misplaced LABELLED items or clothes they decided she refused
to wear) have led to Mum being left in bed all day?!
Most of the time she seems happy, her room can be a mess at times with items knocked off/over, but generally ok standard. Could do with a dust.

My loved one was a resident at the Chestnuts Care Home for just short of 4 years until October 2025.
The home really feels like home, every member of the team from carers to managers to laundry, cleaners and kitchen staff, made a huge difference to the life that was lived.
I could always talk to anyone
and ask for help or just a chat, they always had time not only for my loved one but for family as well.
I know just how happy my loved one was living at the Chestnuts abd I know that this helped to contribute to the length of life they lived, they were always included even if they couldn't always get out of bed.
It was not only respect and dignity that was shown it was love, it is a real feeling of belonging to a family.

The staff are very caring and friendly. Entertainment is fair but more trips out in the summer would be a good thing however I do understand that this can be challenging due to transport and availability of staff. The home appears to be clean but some areas would benefit from a bit of a spruce up.
Lee is very kind and passionate about his residents.

I have been visiting Swan House since the start of 2025, and have been impressed by the interaction of the manager with the residents. It is often not known when I'm going to be visiting, but I always receive a welcome from the staff and the general atmosphere in the home is very positive.
I have attended
several of the events organised for the residents; these have been varied and staff have encouraged some of the more reticent of the residents to take part. The standard of catering has been amazing, and I have every reason to think this was not just for those events but is an indication of the day-to-day cuisine.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Swan House were I to have an elderly relative or friend requiring residential care.

My mum has been at The Croft Care Home for a good few years now having been transferred from another care home which had closed down in the height of the Covid pandemic. Mum has advanced dementia and can be very difficult to manage at times. I have complete and utter trust in the care home and the wonderful
members of staff who work there. I am not always able to attend to my mum's needs due to having another member of the family being poorly. I take comfort in the fact that they love my mum as she would be loved for at home and they care for her in a way that I would care for her too. In my mum's own way I know that she is very comfortable and happy in her surroundings, I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Croft Care Home to look after your loved one.

My Mum in law was admitted to The Croft in March 2024 due to her dementia getting progressively worse. She stayed at the home until 7 November 2024 when she passed away. During her stay we found her to be safe, happy and well looked after. She spent the last 8 months of her life happier than we have
seen her in a long time. To all the staff at The Croft we would like to say a very big thank you for treating my Mum in law so well.

The experience we have as a family visiting our brother is made to feel so welcoming, and is so pleasing that the care he receives is kind, and communication with us is very helpful as the stages of his dementia progresses.
The home is clean and the staff are very attentive, we couldn't ask for anything
more and we are very content with the care he gets.
Thank you to all the team.

I recently visited my mum at The Chestnuts in Aylesbury and couldn't be more impressed by the professionalism of the staff and management and the care and attention with which my mum is being looked after. It was instantly evident that time had been taken to get to know Mum, learn more about her habits
and the intricacies of her personality to enable the staff to cater for her needs. Also great to have a ground-level room with an en-suite which was clean and functional. Thank you to all the staff and management for truly caring.
