Overall Experience
My husband moved here temporarily having being discharged from hospital after a major operation. Unfortunately he was not ready for life at home; his mobility and strength were extremely limited. When I contacted Arlington Manor to see if it would be possible for him to stay for a limited time while he built up that strength and received physiotherapy to get him moving again, they were extremely helpful and welcoming.
My husband's 6 weeks in Arlington Manor saw him receive top quality nursing care and attention, with nourishing appetizing food, and a wonderful sense of both of us being known by name by all the staff who were always happy to cope with any requests for help.

It was good to have my husband home again, but had things not gone well with his recovery I would have been more than happy for him to remain at Arlington Manor.

Reply from Martin Dickson, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor

That is very kind of you to say, and it was really nice to help out with his recovery, which has been wonderful to see. Best wishes to you both for the future

My mum moved into Arlington Manor in Jan 26. It was a difficult decision for her and for us (she had spent the previous year in her home with a live in carer), but the transition went much better than we anticipated. Mum's quality of life seems to be better than it was living in her own home thanks to the consistent routines and opportunity for regular company with her peers. We have greatly enjoyed getting to know other residents and their families and friends - a support network for us too. The Arlington team have been responsive to Mum's needs and work hard to give each individual a positive experience. For Mum this has included greater interaction with people, a few trips out (eg to classical concerts or the theatre) and a good quality of care. Getting old is not easy - but Arlington Manor is helping to keep this stage of Mum's life as positive and comfortable as possible.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It has been lovely to see your Mum really get involved and make several excellent friends.

I am the nephew of a resident. My aunt had expressed her wish to stay in her house for as long as possible but I was concerned about how difficult it had become for her. I researched Arlington Manor and took her for a look around a few months ago and was very impressed. She moved in several months ago and could not be happier.
I'd visited people in care homes in the past and found them a bit depressing, but Arlington Manor is so much better. Very well maintained, good food and most importantly, lovely staff. My aunt looks so much healthier and the little things like having her hair and nails done make life so much better. I'm entirely happy about how well she's being looked after and so is she.

I've given full marks for everything including value for money. It's certainly not cheap, but I think you get what you pay for.

Thank you so much for the lovely words. We have really enjoyed having your Aunt here. She took a little while to settle in, but it has been lovely to see her really start to join in and get properly involved

My mother has been at Arlington Manor since October and I only have positive remarks to make about the home. All the staff have made mum as welcome as I could possibly expected. The standard of care at Arlington Manor seems exceptional and all the staff are very friendly. The food, cafe and activities are excellent and mum really enjoys them. All together a positive experience so far.

From the very first time we entered Arlington Manor we were so impressed by all aspects of it. The staff were welcoming and friendly as were the residents and their families. Everyone looked happy clean and well cared for.
It has been a pleasure to go there and we had no hesitation in choosing Arlington Manor, having looked at several other residential homes, it absolutely towered above them in all aspects.

So happy with our choice.

Following numerous visits to care homes in the area, and consultation with medical professionals, my wife and I helped a close family friend to move to Arlington Manor. We have been delighted with all aspects of the help, advice and support provided to us by the team at Arlington Manor before and since the move. We have been thoroughly impressed by the premises and facilities which are immaculate and wonderfully managed. We are hugely grateful to the team at Arlington Manor for the kind, gentle, respectful and professional care they provide. It is always an enjoyable experience to spend time at Arlington Manor and to see the high quality nature of the work done there. Arlington Manor have exceeded our expectations. We are delighted and grateful.

My Dad moved to Arlington Manor a few months ago. He is a double amputee and therefore has some medical and mobility needs that the staff at Arlington Manor have been handling with great care and professionalism. His room is always clean, fresh linen and towels provided daily and tasty, healthy food served in the dining room. Everyone has been so helpful from management to maintenance staff. The nurses are wonderfully kind and the entertainment team provide many stimulating and fun activities for Dad to enjoy if he chooses. We feel that as a family we can rely on Arlington to look after our Dad with kindness, care and respect.

My Mum came to Arlington Manor in April 2025 from a nursing home where she was very unhappy. I have not regretted our choice to move her to Arlington for one minute. The staff are kind and very responsive. The interior is beautiful and the garden is really well kept and a joy to sit in. They have activities from 10am to 5pm to suit everyone. My mum loves music. There is always something for her to watch or participate in. She is also part of a slow walking group that goes out twice a week. The staff bend over backwards to make sure you attend the activities you enjoy. The rooms are all ensuite and each room is very nice. There is a cafe downstairs in a conservatory which opens out into the garden which is very well used. There is a lively atmosphere and always someone on hand to ask if help is needed.

I would definitely recommend Arlington. Nothing is too much for the staff. I feel that my Mum is in very good hands. It is a relief to know that she is being so well looked after.

My friend's mother was in hospital after a fall leaving her very vulnerable and in need of a nursing care room locally. I had heard of Arlington as a former colleague of mine had received care here so rang asking if there was capacity for nursing care. The dealings with the home were first class in every way giving great peace of mind to my friend and her family.

Her mother has settled well and has received exemplary care from the staff. Although frail she is able to be wheeled around the garden much to her delight. Her medical needs are being fully met by the caring nursing team and I have witnessed first hand their compassion when dealing with sometimes distressing circumstances.

My friend moved to Arlington Manor in March, initially for respite care when live-in care at home was no longer meeting her care needs. She was anxious about leaving her home and the prospect of living with other people. The admission was handled sensitively and very well though and she was made very welcome. Things went much more smoothly than expected and she settled much more quickly than anybody had anticipated. Within a couple of weeks she was feeling and looking much more relaxed, well cared than for a long time, which was wonderful to see. As a former nurse, she has standards of care but here they have been met. This has meant she has relaxed and been accepting of care rather than resisting it. The food and activities on offer are excellent and the garden is a particular joy to visit. Everyone involved has always been really friendly, helpful, professional and kind. Respite care has become a permanent home now and I don't believe we could have found anywhere better.

I was resident in Arlington Manor for 7 weeks of respite care with the aim of recovering sufficient mobility to go home following a fall that badly damaged my leg. I found it to be an excellent Care Home, allowing me to be successful in my ambition. All the staff I encountered were extremely kind, supportive and friendly and it was a pleasure to be helped, cared for and always encouraged by them. The facilities were very good including, amongst many, an exercise gym, which I made good use of with my physiotherapist, and a very attractive garden opening out from a coffee and tempting refreshments area - ideal for meeting with other residents and visitors. My room was light, well appointed and attractively decorated, as were the corridors. The meals were of a good standard and were adapted to meet particular dietary requirements of the individual. I would have no hesitation in returning to Arlington in future were the need to arise.

My mother came to the dementia community at Arlington in November 2024 a week before she was due, following a hospital admission. We arrived late in the evening (discharge delays), stressed, hungry and tired. I am sure we arrived at an inconvenient time but the staff were reassuring and calming and provided refreshments quickly. Mum had a live-in carer at home and I was used to her having very responsive, personalised care and apprehensive about how she would adjust to a care home. I chose Arlington because they have a high number of care staff and all staff are encouraged to put the residents first, and they do. Many a time I find Mum chatting to one of the cleaning staff, they happily interrupt their work to interact with her, and know her name. Dementia has made Mum most likely to say "no" to anything, the care staff are responsive to my suggestions and persevere to get her involved in activities. It is difficult to judge but I think Mum is happier at Arlington than she was at home

My father came to Hallmark Arlington Manor following a lengthy stay in hospital and I have been so impressed with the standard of care he has received in the nursing community. He has been treated with so much kindness and respect and the carers really do go above and beyond, not only for the residents, but also for their families. The nursing staff are extremely knowledgeable and their 24/7 availability is very reassuring. My father particularly enjoys all the food and the home has been readily able to accommodate his changing dietary needs by pureeing his food and providing him with a soft diet, while maintaining very high standards of presentation, which he really appreciates. Throughout his time at Arlington, my sister and I have felt reassured that my father is in the best possible place for him and would thoroughly recommend Arlington for nursing care. As well as being very comfortable for the residents, it provides a really friendly and welcoming environment for relatives to visit.

Thanks so much for the kind words. We have been so pleased to be able to support him and all the family during this tough time. Our kitchen team try really hard to ensure the food and nutrition is at a very high standard for every single resident, even if they have differing needs so I'm very glad that has helped. Mum has been at Hallmark Arlington Manor since May '24. As her confusion has increased, the staff constantly strive to make her life full of happiness and monitor her health with professionalism. My mother came to Arlington for respite care following an operation. She enjoyed her time there, having said that she would never go to a care home, and says she would be happy to go back if necessary. The personal care was attentive and the medical care very good. She really enjoyed the quizzes, crosswords and music performances. Being a competent artist she did find the art and craft sessions much too basic and not catering to anyone with any ability - this is something which could be improved on.
She really liked the food which was of a high standard, particularly the home made soups which varied every day. The large cinema screen was great for watching Wimbledon and the Olympics! The cafe is a great spot for residents to sit and read papers or just enjoy some company and also for visiting relatives to enjoy the nice coffee and cakes!

The garden is lovely and so well kept and much used in the summer. I would recommend Arlington Manor to anyone looking for great care.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback and lovely to hear she enjoyed her time here so much. We will definitely look at improving the variety of the arts and crafts sessions as well. My mother stayed at Arlington Manor for 4 weeks of respite care after a long hospital stay. When she arrived she was very apprehensive, but was instantly welcomed by all the staff she came into contact with. During her time there Mum and all of us were made to feel very welcome and we saw a vast improvement in her health and general well-being, which we feel is due to the excellent care she received. When we talk about her stay she readily says how lovely everyone was and how she realises that without the care she received there she probably would not have recovered as well as she has, which considering she is 94 yrs is quite remarkable!

We would certainly hope that in the future should either of our parents need full time care that they could stay at Arlington.

Our mother came in for a month's respite. It was her first experience of a care home and she was understandably apprehensive. But she didn't need to be! I am a 93 year old widower, previously looking after myself in an independent living complex for several years. I was rushed into hospital in August with a fever and confined to bed for almost 5 weeks before the appropriate medication was identified, resulting in extensive muscle loss and difficulty in walking unaided. I have an underlying inoperable cancer for which the recommended regime is palliative care. Hence the decision to move into Arlington Manor. I am still research active in my scientific field, with regular contacts worldwide.

It is perhaps too soon to write a full review of my experience of Arlington Manor. I am certainly impressed by the diligence and friendliness of the staff who all greet me by name. I am most critical of the restaurant menus; the food is perhaps too bland for my taste. The restaurant staff do their best, but I sometimes find it difficult to understand their accents, and they do not always understand what I am asking for.

Reply from Martin Dickson, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Arlington Manor

Thank you kindly for your review. It has been great to see you keep active and continue your research while at Arlington Manor. Hope that your continued exercising helps to bring back some mobility. We will look at improving the restaurant experience as we always have lots of alternative options for each resident. Kind Regards, Customer Relationship Manager
