Review of Murdoch House Care Home from Susan B (Friend of Resident) published on 8 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The staff were all very welcoming, professional and extremely helpful.
Paramjeet organised chairs for us and tea and biscuits when we arrived. He was very courteous and friendly.
The home is very well maintained with good security measures in place.
The room we visited our friend i was well equipped and comfortable.

We are very pleased that our friend has settled well in the home .

I have been delighted with Murdoch House. The caring + friendly atmosphere really gives it a 'family home' feel. The staff could not be more attentive - my mum is very fond of them, as they are of her. The food + activities are also varied + well-thought out, so all residents feel included. I always feel informed + that the staff know my mum very well.

Sadly I feel the need to bring to the review the need for some form of air con in the home, we have constantly been asking, there has little or no response from management of the home or indeed from senior management, and of course with the constant heat waves we are having this impacts on staff as well as residents, many of who suffer from dementia, so have no understadnig of the extreme heat. Finally, to this date there has been no information, in fact no communication at all, it's very concerning in what is a serious issue.

My mum was a resident for 3 and a half years in Copper.Beeches Nursing Home.

She was bed bound and had Dementia, she was always treated with care, dignity and compassion. The Home and carers were so helpful with all our family visiting every day. Especially night visiting when my mum wasn't well. She sadly peacefuly passed away this June. The whole staff were so kind and helpful to us , even saying goodbye to mum as she left the home when she passed. We are so grateful. Xx

My husband has L.B.D. and parkinson's and has been in residential care for over two years. I particularly appreciate the kindness, thoughtfulness and good humour of the regular staff. And the fact that because he feels safe and secure, D is normally contented and cooperative. When I asked if he wanted to add something he said, "The best thing is the food. It always tastes good. And I like my room. It is bright and I can look out at the garden and the trees. Deer come sometimes."

The care home lets me come and go as I like. I've got free access to the doctors. I have my own mini fridge where I can store my food and my own power chair that I use to go into town and anywhere I would like to go

Finding a care home for the first time is so daunting, my Dad had very specific needs covering dementia + mobility and as a family the decision to choose a care home was a very emotional experience. Copper Beeches ticked every box, especially to receive home made scones + tea when we arrived.
- Fantastic + kind care staff
- Great food
- Cleanliness
- Gorgeous room newly refurbished

We could not wish for more for our beloved Dad.

All of the staff were so kind and caring with dads passing. They supported us, as a family at the hardest time, with care, compassion and dignity. Mum is still at Woodbury and we know she is being extremly well looked after and cared for through this difficult time too. They all work so hard and are always polite and willing to help too.

My mother has been looked after by the staff at Woodbury House for over two years now. I find the staff very attentive and caring, they always keep me informed of her progress and address any issues immediately. In the last twelve months the Home has improved it's facilities and social interaction with the Residents and their families. Communication of these activities is advised by email and notices posted in the home. I would like to thank the staff for their care and attention of my mother over the last two years.
