Richard House Care Home

from Shirley T (Wife of Resident) published on 15 May 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My daughter and I attended activities in March and April, it was lovely to see happy residents and staff joining in as well as visitors, makes all the difference having activities on, as residents are bored if nothing on. The lady doing activities is brilliant with the residents, she is so bubbly and
residents love her. Especially as last year, no activities and residents looked miserable, sitting about with nothing to do all day. R.H is a lovely place, just a shame staff shortages put lots of pressure on staff.
Reply from Jenny Bellwood, Marketing Director at Richard House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your kind feedback about your visits to Richard House Care Home with your daughter.

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed attending the activities and that it was lovely to see residents, staff and visitors all joining in together. Having been in various homes with elderly relations, Avocet House is the best one ever. From walking in the door the home is full of smiles and happiness. The staff are amazing which reflects on the residents who are also full of smiles. They have an agenda of activities every week. Most of them are
having fun times, but they also have discussions of their memories, which are wonderful to listen to. Visitors are always encouraged to join in, offered a drink and made welcome. My husband and I are always happy to go and never rush to come away. It is absolutely wonderfully amazing.

Was very pleased with how light/airy/clean Toray Pines was on my initial visit to see if the home was suitable. Staff where really friendly and the home has a nice warm feeling to it. Everything was very last minute and they were super accomdating. The initial vist was a Saturday and we had my friend
moved in on the following Tuesday. 3 months on, I am very very pleased with the quality of care - even with their complex needs due to Huntington's Disease. Added bonus are the social aspect of the Home.THey've been bowling, had dogs & miniatire horses vist, been taken out to the cinema amongst other things. A great comunity feel to the home.

Mollie and I volunteer for Therapy Dogs Nationwide and from our very first visit we have always been made to feel extremely welcome. I am always offered a coffee. One of our rules is we are never allowed to be left alone and we never are. The staff know who likes dogs and who doesn't. Mollie loves
coming here as do I. The residents always look so happy and there is always plenty of things for them to do. If I had to choose only one care home to visit it would be this one.
Reply from Jenny Bellwood, Marketing Director at Cloverleaf Nursing HomeThank you so much for your wonderful review. We are delighted to hear how welcome you and Mollie feel when you visit Cloverleaf.

Visits from Therapy Dogs are always something our residents and team look forward to, and it is lovely to hear how much Mollie enjoys her time with us too.

We really appreciate the kind words you have shared about our team and the activities we provide. It means a lot to know that the positive atmosphere we aim to create is being recognised.

Holbeach Meadows Care Home

from K H (Sister of Resident) published on 27 March 2026

Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
My sister was recently in here for 2 weeks' respite. She's of sound mind and physically disabled. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Assured fully staff.. not the case, 3 staff to approx 30 occupied rooms. Falty paperwork. Regular catheter checks are not done. Left in own urine as too busy for over 2 hours. Dementia
patients wander in and won't leave, using your private bathroom and floor and floor. Another threw a plate of food on sister's bed. Buzzers were not answered very quickly. Lovely building (3 years old) and amazingly kind carers (bar one). Food not good. Paperwork re your needs not read. Fetched her out early. Mix dementia and sound-minded, and it does not work.
Reply from Rebecca Watkins, Regional Director at Holbeach Meadows Care HomeWe are sorry to hear your comments regarding your sister's respite stay at Holbeach Meadows. My pops moved into Holbeach meadows in January after a stay in hospital, he could no longer look after himself independently. As much as we wanted him to go home and live his day to day life we knew he needed the extra help. Since moving in he has had such good care! The activities team provide activities
that let him socialise and be around others which he wouldn't do so much at home, they are so upbeat and give a sense of purpose and happiness. Each person that works there has the upmost respect for the residents and provide personalised care! I couldn't recommend them enough.

I visit my relative 3-4 times a week and during the month try to attend some of the arranged activities. It is lovely to see the residents taking part, chatting, laughing and enjoying themselves. The Activities Team are thoughtful and have a very positive, happy outlook- which is contagious. It's impossible
to come away from an event not feeling uplifted. I am sorry I missed the visit by the new therapy dog but have seen the pictures and heard from mum how well behaved and friendly she was. The Valentines afternoon tea was a triumph-food and service excellent. The staff at Cloverleaf are always helpful and work very hard to make sure all the residents are well cared for and feel loved. The new flooring has made a massive difference to the cleanliness of the communal areas, especially on the middle floor

We're delighted to hear how much you enjoy visiting and joining in with some of the activities. Our Activities Team work incredibly hard to create meaningful, enjoyable moments for residents, so your kind words about the atmosphere, laughter and positivity will mean a great deal to them.
The therapy dog visit was a wonderful afternoon and we're so pleased your mum enjoyed it. We're also glad you enjoyed the Valentine's Afternoon Tea; events like these are something the team put a lot of care into, so it's lovely to know they are appreciated.
Thank you as well for recognising the efforts of our staff. Providing a warm, caring environment where residents feel happy, safe and valued is always our top priority.

AVOID THIS CARE HOME!
Let my husband down tremendously.
- lost majority of his clothes and bellongings.
- staff aren't trained for behaviours/illnesses.
- staff don't care would rather sit on there phones.
- management staff are terrible, lie constantly.
- missed very important appointment
about heart due to management staff 'forgetting'
- meals aren't enough to feed a child net alone a grown man.
- no stimulation whatsoever. Get made to sit in the lounge/diner all day, nothing to do.
- didn't do what they was being paid to do.
- certain professionals have seen through the cracks and reported several incidents.
- when things get tough management will do everything to remove them asap and a considerable amount of residents end up in a mental hospital.
- neglect (5 days of seeing him with a severe side affect to medication, they still was using it, didn't get help, family did, he was dehydrated and couldn't eat)
These are just a few issues the list is endless.

My father in law entered the home for respite 4 weeks ago but has now gone onto a permanent contract . Unfortunately he like many others has Alzheimer's Dementia. He was no longer safe living at home on his own so after looking at several care homes near us we picked Meadows Park . We were very impressed
with the all the staff who are obviously very friendly & caring & have been very helpful to our family at this difficult time . It is very clean & the food is all lovely our dad enjoys it all .He is very settled & has enjoyed the trip out to the garden centre & then setting the seeds etc that they bought at the garden club . We would highly recommend Meadows Park to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one .
Reply from Jenny Bellwood, Marketing Director at Meadows Park Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review.

We understand how difficult the decision can be when a loved one can no longer safely live at home, so we're very grateful that you chose Meadows Park to support your father-in-law. It's wonderful to hear that he has settled in well and is enjoying life here, especially activities like the trip to the garden centre and taking part in the garden club.

Our team works very hard to provide a warm, supportive and homely environment, so your kind comments about the staff, cleanliness and food will mean a great deal to everyone.

Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your father-in-law's care. We're always here to support both him and your family.

Meadows Park Care Home

I am very impressed by everything about Meadows Park Care Home. My cousin Betty has been here for 16 months now and we try to visit weekly. The standard of care is outstanding. Everything is 100% plus. I am a retired Fire Fighter and some of the so called care homes you would not believe. If Betty had
not been here for the last year plus I doubt she would be still with us.
