Care Homes Owned by Richmond Villages
Richmond Villages have been providing prestigious retirement communities for over 25 years. Part of Bupa, their mission is to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives.
The most reassuring aspect of a Richmond Village is having the facilities and services all in one place to help you respond to every twist and turn life takes. Support varies at each location, but across Richmond Villages they offer residential, nursing and dementia care. In 2021, Richmond Villages opened the UK's first specialist dementia centre, Richmond Willaston, inspired by the Dutch household model, enabling residents to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.
Set in the heart of each village within a bright, vibrant community, each home is beautifully presented with wide spacious corridors leading to private rooms with en-suite for residents. Alongside care delivery, their passion is to provide some wonderful on site facilities enabling you to keep as fit and healthy as you can, with many of the villages offering state-of-the-art Wellness Spas.

Mum has been in the home for a couple of months following the move from another home due to care needs. The staff made mum and us very welcome.
Activities are varied and well run - a big thank you to the team and special thank you to Helen who regularly takes Mum on a walk in the beautiful gardens.
We feel Mum is well looked after but would like to see more check ups on mum while we are around, not sure if they rely on us while we are there.
Rooms are well presented, regularly cleaned, decent size with en suite and very bright and light.
Overall would definitely recommend.
Reply from Nicky Vaughan, manager at Richmond Villages WillastonThank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for recommending Richmond Village Willaston. We are delighted to hear that your mum has settled well since joining us and that both she and your family were made to feel so welcome. I am not able to fault the care which my wife received during her short stay. The staff were so attentive to her needs , at times I felt embarrassed that I had not been able to look after her in the same way. They were so caring and treated my wife with great compassion, which was an immense comfort
to me, and the family, to know that she was in such safe hands. At all times her dignity was respected.
Reply from Samantha Walker, Care home Manager at Richmond Villages PainswickThank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. Your comments regarding the kindness, attentiveness, and compassion shown by our staff will be shared with the whole team, who will be greatly encouraged by your recognition of their dedication. Please accept our sincere best wishes, and thank you again for your heartfelt feedback.

My mother, who had a flat in Richmond Village for many years, had a major stroke and spent her last few days at the care home here.
She was looked after with compassion in a professional manner. The staff also made sure that the rest of the family were welcome and treated well.
Reply from Kerstin Taylor, Village Manager at Richmond Villages Aston-on-TrentThank you for your kind review. Every single employee we had contact with was a fine example of dedication to their profession. So many went above and beyond on a daily basis, and not just for Dad, but the whole family. I wonder if each staff member gets verbal recognition/praise regularly from the management team? They deserve it
- daily, from the fab chef to the laundry to the carers. It is their hard work that made Dad's care such a positive one. Yes the facilities are lovely, the security excellent, but it was the people on the ground that makes this care home outstanding. It is impossible to name even 20 individuals for specific praise; it really is all of them. Please do something to recognise that from us.
Reply from Nicky Vaughan, Manager at Richmond Villages WillastonThank you for your incredibly kind and heartfelt review. We are delighted to hear that your father's experience with us was such a positive one. Your recognition of our team means so much. While our facilities are important, we agree that it is our people who make Richmond Village Willaston special. From our carers and nurses to our chef, housekeeping, laundry and support teams, every colleague plays a vital role in supporting residents and their families. I was particularly touched by your comments regarding staff recognition. Since joining as Village Manager a few months ago, recognising and celebrating our colleagues has been a priority. We regularly acknowledge outstanding contributions through recognition awards, Care Friends points and personal thanks, and I will ensure your wonderful feedback is shared with the whole team. Thank you again for your kind words and support. Best wishes, Nicky Vaughan Village Manager

My wife has been a resident in the home for some 18 months and during this time she has received first class care. The staff are dedicated, compassionate and make a huge effort to ensure that the residents are involved in the various activities, but also recognise that not everyone wants to join in
and cater for this accordingly.
I have been really impressed at the ease of communication with the staff and their willingness to be open about any problems- such as falls- this really does inspire confidence.
As far as I and the immediate family are concerned she is in the best place getting the care that her complex needs require.

My mum has been a resident on the care floor for just under a year. After experiencing rehab care in other setting's, we were worried about mum going anywhere long term.
After searching we were lucky to get mum a place at RV.
The care mum receives is excellent. The nursing staff are brilliant and
always listen. If I have any concerns they have normally already picked this up and already acted on them.
The staff ratio is really good and the carers work really hard. Everyone is really friendly and I have often seen staff sitting and talking to the residents and holding their hands as if they were their own grandparent. Their kindness is so reassuring. I know that mum is safe and well cared for.
The entertainment team, well what can I say, mum just loves all the entertainment especially the singing.
I am eternally grateful that mum is there and cant thank all the staff enough.
Reply from Gemma Lamph, Administrator at Richmond Villages WillastonThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience - your words are truly touching and deeply appreciated. We understand how difficult it can be to find the right long-term care setting, so it means a great deal to know that you feel reassured and confident in the care your mum is receiving with us at Richmond. Your kind comments about our nursing team and carers will be shared with them all. They work incredibly hard to provide not only high-quality care but also genuine compassion, and it is so rewarding to hear that their kindness and attentiveness have made such a positive difference to both you and your mum. We are also delighted to hear how much your mum enjoys the activities and entertainment - especially the singing! Creating joyful moments is such an important part of what we do. Thank you again for your trust and for your heartfelt feedback. It is an absolute privilege to care for your mum. With our warmest wishes,

I am happy to say a few words to pass on our recommendation. You never plan for this journey as it's uncharted waters. From the first telephone call, Clair held our hands to ensure it was the right place for Mum. Mums are like precious stones and we have been blessed that the whole experience has been
wonderful! The environment, the warm, caring welcome we have received from all at Richmond has been outstanding. The standard of furnishings, cuisine, attention to detail has surpassed our concerns without hesitation. First rate.
Reply from Gemma Lamph, Administrator at Richmond Villages WillastonThank you so much for your incredibly kind words - they truly mean a great deal to us all. We understand how important and emotional this journey can be, and it has been our absolute privilege to support you and your mum during this time. Knowing that you have felt comforted, welcomed, and confident in your decision means everything to our team. Claire and the entire Richmond team are dedicated to creating a safe, caring, and homely environment, and your feedback reassures us that we are achieving what we set out to do. Your description of mums as "precious stones" is beautiful, and we are honoured to be entrusted with her care. Very caring staff and fantastic service. The people who come in to the care floor to play music and entertain the residents are very talented and mum responds well to them. I would certainly recommend Richmond at Letcombe Regis.

My mum was a resident in the care home after having many falls in her independent living apartment on the same site. I had to make the decision to put her in the home. I was worried about doing this but in retrospect shouldn't have been. The nursing staff and the carers, in fact the whole team from
the top down were superb. I had help and reassurance from everyone. In many ways it felt like a family and when mum sadly passed away, on top of her loss, I felt a sense of loss for all the wonderful people there.
Reply from Martin Crick, Village Manager at Richmond Villages WitneyThank you so much for taking the time to write a review, the team and I are glad that we were able to support and help Mum live her best life as a resident at Witney. Also good to see you were supported as a family.

My mum came to Richmond Village initially in an assisted living apartment, in October 2024. All the staff were very friendly and the domiciliary staff were very helpful which helped mum settle in. Unfortunately mum deteriorated quite quickly she had to go to the care floor, in December 2024, but mum
again, settled in well and all the staff and carers were very friendly and helpful. I am fully informed about how mum is by email or a phone call if something unexpected happens. The activities team work hard to engage the residents in activities, be it singing, painting, throwing balls or gardening. Mum is very happy here and her friends who visit occasionally have remarked what a nice care home it is, and that it feels more like a hotel. I can visit at any time which fits in with my work and we often go downstairs or outside, weather permitting, for a coffee and a chat. The opportunity for mum to have her nails painted and hair coloured and cut is a nice treat.
Reply from Martin Crick, Village Manager at Richmond Villages WitneyThank you for taking the time to write a review and great to see you are pleased with how Mum is looked after plus how much she enjoys being a resident here in assisted living before moving to the care floor. Kind Regards, Martin

Richmond looked after Mum for over 4 years on the nursing floor. She received the best care which was sometimes very difficult to give because of Mum's complex needs. The staff never gave up and never left her unclean or hungry, constantly monitoring and fulfiling every need, even as her condition resulted
in sad decline. The whole team, including reception, senior nurses, carers, admin and the wonderful people who do the laundry and maintenance all work together to provide a facility which does really try to be someone's home even in the worst of circumstances. We never ever wanted Mum to be in a care home, but having no choice, this was the best place she could have been. Thank you to everyone.
Reply from Nicky Vaughan, Manager at Richmond Villages WillastonDear Debbie, Thank you for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. Your kind words mean a great deal to everyone at Richmond Village. Although I have only recently joined as Manager, I know the team have found it a true privilege to care for your mum over the past four years. They speak of her with great care and respect, particularly as her needs became more complex. Your recognition of the compassion and dedication shown by all departments will mean so much to them. We strive to ensure every resident is supported with dignity and kindness, and its wonderful to know this was felt by your family. We understand how difficult this journey can be, and it means a great deal that you felt Richmond was the best place for your mum. Thank you again for your trust and kind words. My husband arrived on the care floor over two years ago, following a lengthy stay in hospital. The care he has received has been excellent, largely due to the experience and dedication of the nursing staff. The nurse to resident ratio is very good, and each member of staff works tirelessly to ensure
good care. Carers' work is physically demanding, moving heavy mobile chairs and hoists and making every effort to get residents out of bed each day. This allows residents to make use of the outdoor spaces and patios. Staff receive ongoing training and are knowledgeable about dementia. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities regularly. Any concerns raised are addressed promptly.
The receptionists are welcoming and provide additional support.
Dementia nursing care in any nursing home is expensive, and although Richmond Village Willaston is one of the more expensive homes, in my experience , the staffing numbers and quality mean it is also one of the best.
Reply from Nicky Vaughan, manager at Richmond Villages WillastonDear Rosemary, Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review of Richmond Village Willaston. We are delighted to hear that your husband has received excellent care and support from our nursing and care teams over the past two years. Your kind comments about the dedication, compassion and professionalism of our staff mean a great deal. We know how demanding care roles can be, and your recognition of the efforts our teams make each day to support residents wellbeing, dignity and independence will be truly appreciated. We are also pleased that you value our dementia care, activities, outdoor spaces and responsive approach to communication and concerns. Creating a warm, supportive and engaging environment for residents and their families is always our priority. Mum has lived in Richmond Nantwich Village Centre since last summer and is healthier and more relaxed for being there. It great to she is so well cared for..
The home is exceptionally well managed. All the staff - carers, housekeeping,, catering, social team, (and anyone I may have omitted) are friendly
and compassionate which makes such a difference to my mum. The property and grounds are beautifully maintained and the social team provide varied daily activities, should mum choose to participate.
All in all, I thoroughly recommend Richmond Nantwich. It gives me tremendous peace of mind in knowing that we chose the right home for mum when she was no longer able to manage without care help.
Thanks to everyone and keep up the good work

Mum has been on the care floor at Witney since January 2024; she had moved into the village as an independent lady in 2015 during the building phase and then to assisted living 8 years later. Throughout her journey at Richmond Village Witney she has experienced nothing but genuine care and help. All
the staff have been exemplary from the team helping to buy and sell her various properties, the dom care team on assisted living and all the care staff on Mulberry. They take everything in their stride, are calm and caring. I am fully informed of how Mum is by email and calls if necessary. Everyone is friendly and approachable, the girls who come into clean always have a chat too. I can visit at any time which fits in with my schedule too.

My Aunt has been a resident since February 2025 when a stroke left her physically incapacitated and requiring 24 hour nursing care. All the staff are caring, kind and considerate. My aunt went from independent living to needing assistance with everything and Richmond have been very supportive of the
change in her circumstances. She is always treated with dignity and respect. All the staff interact with her and have been very supportive in explaining everything to her and me. There is always someone to speak to if I have any concerns or worries. The facilities are excellent.

I came to Richmond Villages for 3 weeks respite care after a debilitating illness. I came in a very weak state but in those 3 weeks with the care staff and excellent food I am leaving well on the way to a full recovery.
On the negative side my biggest complaint was my bed which was so uncomfortable
that I had very little sleep. My one observation of the daily meal routine is that supper at 5 pm through to breakfast usually after 9 am is too long between 2 main meals, although I appreciate there are always drinks/snacks available.
My final praise must go to the hospitality staff who brightened up each day.
Reply from Martin Crick, Village Manager at Richmond Villages WitneyThank you so much for taking the time to write a review and praise our team who supported you during your recent respite stay. I take on board your comments about the comfort of the bed, which I shall discuss with the relevant team. Kind Regards, Martin
