Richmond Villages have been providing prestigious retirement communities for over 25 years. Part of Bupa, their mission is to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives.

The most reassuring aspect of a Richmond Village is having the facilities and services all in one place to help you respond to every twist and turn life takes. Support varies at each location, but across Richmond Villages they offer residential, nursing and dementia care. In 2021, Richmond Villages opened the UK's first specialist dementia centre, Richmond Willaston, inspired by the Dutch household model, enabling residents to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

Set in the heart of each village within a bright, vibrant community, each home is beautifully presented with wide spacious corridors leading to private rooms with en-suite for residents. Alongside care delivery, their passion is to provide some wonderful on site facilities enabling you to keep as fit and healthy as you can, with many of the villages offering state-of-the-art Wellness Spas.

Richmond Villages is a special place where new beginnings start and quality memories are made.

I came to Richmond Villages for 3 weeks respite care after a debilitating illness. I came in a very weak state but in those 3 weeks with the care staff and excellent food I am leaving well on the way to a full recovery.
On the negative side my biggest complaint was my bed which was so uncomfortable
that I had very little sleep. My one observation of the daily meal routine is that supper at 5 pm through to breakfast usually after 9 am is too long between 2 main meals, although I appreciate there are always drinks/snacks available.
My final praise must go to the hospitality staff who brightened up each day.
Reply from Martin Crick, Village Manager at Richmond Villages WitneyThank you so much for taking the time to write a review and praise our team who supported you during your recent respite stay. I take on board your comments about the comfort of the bed, which I shall discuss with the relevant team.

Mum stayed for three weeks of respite care whilst we were on holiday.

We were impressed with the staff from our very first visit. The wonderful reception team, who were excellent ambassadors and who we felt made a real effort to get to know Mum and make her feel welcome, along with all the care

team. Our interactions with the administration staff were also excellent, prompt responses at all times, combined with friendly and welcoming communication.

The home itself is lovely, very welcoming and as well as somewhere nice for your relative to stay, it's a pleasant place to visit. Mum had a lovely room with patio doors to the garden, which she and her visitors enjoyed.

We are very grateful to all the team at Richmond Village Willaston for making Mum feel so welcomed and cared for. For the first time ever, we actually think she was reluctant to leave!

We hope to bring Mum back on regular basis to enjoy the dementia friendly cafes.

Reply from Claire Canning, Administration Manager at Richmond Villages WillastonThank you for such lovely feedback Helen. It was a pleasure to have your mum stay with us and we look forward to welcoming her again very soon.

My mum was at Richmond for over 2 years. When she arrived she hadn't been out of bed for 8 weeks. Soon she was sitting in the chair, going for lunch and enjoying the entertainment, which is fantastic. Everybody cared and looked after Mum so well. I can't speak highly enough of everyone, including reception,
care team, management, kitchen team, cleaners and generally everyone to come into contact with Mum. It's a lovely place, the room was very nice and the gardens were beautiful. I would highly recommend.

My father was very well looked after in the Care Home at Richmond Village, Painswick, for the last 17 months of his life after he lost his mobility. The staff were very caring and built a good rapport with him. He was treated with respect, consideration and good humour and nothing seemed too much trouble
for them. This was helped by a good ratio of staff to resident and relatively low staff turnover. A wide variety of events were arranged that residents could participate in if they so wished. The food in the Restaurant has generally been of a high standard. Visiting hours are very flexible and we have appreciated the friendliness and consideration we've received when visiting him and were never made to feel we were in the way. Any issues that did arise were dealt with professionally and we always felt we were kept well informed by regular "news flashes" and by the opportunity to participate in meetings involving the management, residents and relatives.
Reply from Samantha Walker, Care home Manager at Richmond Villages PainswickThank you Richard so much for taking the time to share your heartfelt feedback.
We are truly honoured to have cared for your father during his time with us, and we are grateful for your kind words about our team. It means a great deal to hear that he was treated with respect, dignity, and good humour, and that our staff were able to build such a positive rapport with him.
We are also pleased that you found our staffing levels, activities programme, dining experience, and communication to be of a high standard. Providing a welcoming and supportive environment for both residents and their families is at the heart of everything we do, so it is particularly meaningful to know that you always felt comfortable and included when visiting.
Your feedback will be shared with the entire team, who will be deeply encouraged by your comments. It was a privilege to care for your father, and we thank you for trusting us with his support.

I am blessed to have been nearly a year on the care floor at Richmond Villages Witney. I have been happy and cared for and even loved. These many women and men do something truly honourable: they clean up, they laugh, they bandage, they administer care and hope and wisdom. They work wonderfully as a
team - the carers, nurses, hostesses, activities team and management. They do all this for me and every resident here - giving meaning to the term "patient-centred care". They wipe our tears, hold our hand, and 12 hours a day and 12 hours a night, they remind us there is life and joy still to be had. I thank them all, truly, and recommend the care floor with all my heart.

Mom spent just short of 5 years at Richmond before passing away in March 2026. Never once did I have to worry about her. Her needs were complex (dementia) but never once did I observe the team there treat her with anything but kindness, patience and compassion. Her final day was difficult for us
as a family, but the help and support given to us and Mom was exceptional. They made a hard day so much more bearable and I will never forget it. Thank you

My 99yr old mother in law moved to Richmond Village for an initial 3 week respite stay after a couple of falls. We extended this weekly for a while and eventually decided to make the move permanent. This was because we realised that the fantastic care package offered and tailored to individual needs
was exactly what she needed and beyond what we could find elsewhere. She had a room overlooking the croquet lawn. Staff really are very discrete and hard working. The senior nursing staff helped with a health care application. There is a regular programme provided by the Activities team who encourage residents to join in but there is no pressure to participate. She was very particular about her food but found very little which wasn't to her taste. The restaurant staff were always friendly. Visiting family often commented it was like an hotel. Moving to Richmond was absolutely the right thing and I think it's fair to say that residents and staff get to know each other as individuals.

It is positive to hear how in every area you have felt we provide the best care and support we can. I will make sure your feedback is shared with the wider teams.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dear Mother in Law moved into the nursing community at Wood Norton following a lengthy hospital stay, and with a range of care needs. The admission process was swift and well managed, and as a family we felt welcomed to the home.
Everything about the care and support my Mother in Law received was
personalised and patient - her food needs and preferences, provision of medications, and the practical care given sensitively and thoughtfully.
The surroundings of the home, and the facilities and furnishings are to a high standard, but most importantly every member of the team we met was kind, considerate and competent.
Unfortunately my Mother in Law only lived in Wood Norton for a short period, and when she came to the end of her life the support given to us as a family was quietly attentive and really made a difference at this most difficult time.
The carers, nurses and Manager were exemplary in everything they did, and we cannot thank them enough.

My mother moved up into Meadows after having a fall in her flat (part of the independent flats within Richmond Northampton) All the staff wanted to know her routine, what she liked to eat, wear, etc. She was on a temporary care package, which was agreed to be reviewed after two weeks. The head of the
care ward explained everything giving me confidence, but also knowing I could contact them anytime for updates on my mother's condition. Unfortunately my mother's health did not improve enough for her to return to independent living. The transfer into permanent residence on the Meadows was easy, again the head of care explained all the paper work. We, her family were encouraged to bring her personal things like family photo, furniture, and clothing. Again I was very grateful how all the different departments helped me to make it all happen. My mother is a high risk of falling resident, with all the pressure pads the care staff know when she is moving and may need assistance.

My Mother is on the care floor and the level of care she has received to date has been absolutely first class. I couldn't have asked for more from the whole RV team.

RV offers a wonderful, warm, and friendly environment. It genuinely feels like a 'home from home'. The staff I have interacted with

have gone above and beyond, and nothing is too much trouble. It is such a pleasure to visit, as we always feel welcome. The residents are well looked after, and I often see staff interacting with them with kindness and affection.

I would not hesitate to recommend RV to anyone seeking top-tier nursing care for a loved one.

Your kind words about our staff, their compassion, and the way they interact with residents will be shared with the whole team, as feedback like this is incredibly motivating and rewarding for them.

Richmind Village in Willaston have delivered outstanding care for my mother who has Parkinsons and dementia. It's a great relief to me to know she is well looked after and that the nursing care is so good. The small things, like seeing her dressed nicely with her hair done make such a difference. The
nurses are very diligent with making sure her medical needs are reviewed and met. The dementia journey is a difficult one to navigate, and the family are very grateful to the staff for looking after her so well. Thank you.
Reply from Gemma, Administrator at Richmond Villages WillastonThank you so much for taking the time to share these kind words about your mother's care at Richmond Village in Willaston. We're truly touched by your message.
It means a great deal to our team to know that the support we provide brings comfort and reassurance to you and your family. We understand how challenging the dementia journey can be, and we're honoured to play a part in helping your mother feel safe, respected, and well cared for.
Our nurses and care staff take great pride in the little things-whether it's ensuring someone feels good in their appearance or carefully monitoring their health needs-because we know how much these moments matter. Hearing that these efforts have made a positive difference to your family is incredibly uplifting.

My mother Betty spent her final three years living at Richmond Village, Cheltenham. Mum really enjoyed her lovely apartment with a balcony overlooking the wonderful gardens and the excellent care that she received from the very dedicated and friendly staff. Mum also enjoyed the delicious menu in the
