Care Homes Owned by Harbour Healthcare Ltd in Cumbria

My father has been at Riverside Court for nearly a year and he has settled better than I dared to hope he would, after living in his own home in London till the age of 90. He is really comfortable and content at Riverside Court and he loves hearing the singers who often visit. Some of the carers go above and beyond, e.g. when his partner visited recently, they arranged a special table so they could eat together in the lovely sitting room.

On a recent visit to my friend, I visited her husband in this well organized home, the staff were cheerful, effecent and very welcoming he was obviously well looked after and appeared very content, which was lovely to see.

Our lovely friend has sadly had to move into care after a hospital stay. Since being there he looks better. He is clearly well cared for and all the staff we have met have been kind and helpful. The home is very clean and well presented. Our friend enjoys the food and likes the staff. Overall we are reassured by professionalism of all the team. Thanks to you all.

My husband is so well looked after.The carers are so friendly and caring.The food is excellent. Nothing is a trouble to any of them from management nurses and carers. They gave him a lovely birthday.He settled in well.I would highly recommend.

During this extremely difficult period for the family, we have been comforted to know that Dad has been looked after so well. Nothing has been too much trouble for the excellent staff while looking after him and seeing that my mam is cared for too. Nothing can really prepare a family for the loss of a loved one but the care he has recieved, the immaculately clean home surrounded by wonderful staff lessens the pain. We cannot thank everyone here at Harbour View Care Home, Whitehaven enough.

We cannot thank the staff of Harbour View enough for their kindness, compassion and open and welcoming approach to our family. During my father-in-law's stay, every effort and more has been made to make his time safe, secure and comfortable. These angels on earth have not only looked after him but have also looked after us, especially my mother-in-law. Immaculately clean, great food and the warmest, most caring staff we could wish for. Thank you so much for all you do.

I cannot praise all staff enough. They have looked after my husband so well. He is comfortable, content & that means a lot to me. I go home knowing he is very well looked after. What makes this nursing home work is the staff. Undervalued by their employees and disrespected. Some staff thinking of leaving because of it! The trained staff work relentlessly. Looking after me very well that I feel safe in their hands. The chef and staff have catered to my complex needs. Under dietitian for 4 years. 13 years losing weight. Now I can pinch an inch. Marvelous. Company should treat staff and pay them an increase now!

The outside flowerbeds were a bit neglected with no seating near the door. An idea would be to involve community or schools to help grow and plant flowers etc. As my father was a private person and did not want to bother anyone he did not always ask for pain relief. A small chart in his room near the bed with initials for medication & tick boxes would have allowed us to see if he had his meds am & pm included on the list. Apart from the odd hiccup and losing his pain patch once which was dealt with, very good care.

My Granda recently moved into the care home and Im so glad he went to Harbour View. He has received the best care from the staff who work at Harbour View, they have helped reassure my Nana and all of us with the sudden change of him moving into a care home knowing he is well looked after. So grateful.

Riverside Court Care Home is an excellent home. My husband is treated with great kindness and respect. All the staff are friendly, caring and deliver their service with compassion and calm expertise. The home is always spotlessly clean, and the staff have given a lot of thought in creating a warm, welcoming and supportive environment. I would highly recommend the care home.

my sister in law received excellent care while in harbour view she was treated with dignity and respect and we couldn't fault any part of her stay in there. When she was end of life the family were also cared for and nothing was ever a bother and we were kept up to date on what was happening. We got to spend the last month of her life laughing and reminiscing while she was getting the utmost care. Thank you

This review is based on a single short visit and is therefore only a snapshot, not an evaluation. I cannot comment on what I did not see. I found my brother was calm and confident, and I saw he was being cared for by kind, smiling staff. He was comfortable in his room but also enjoyed walking around and sitting in other areas, and there was always someone around to keep a careful eye on the residents. I was very impressed with the security.

Staff contact is good if there has been a problem like Dad falling or illness. Telephone clarity is poor line have informed home several times that myself and other people cannot hear staff due to poor telephone signal/method. Staff are kind and welcoming. My dad is happy at the home.

My sister has been in harbour view for two years now the family are extreamly happy with the excerlent standard of care that she recieves.The staff are extremely welcoming and freindly The manager was brilliant and careing she keeps you updated on the quality of care that they provide all the staff are incredible a wonderful so homely place its clean and nicely decorated and real home made food my family and myself carnt thank harbour view enough with the excerlent service this care home provides .

All staff from maintenance, domestic, to nurses and management have shown my dad and us as a family great care, compassion and kindness. I know that he's in safe hands and is receiving the care he needs that we were no longer able to manage.

My Dad entered Harbour View from hospital for end of life care. He was a resident for two weeks. During this time he was treated with care and dignity. The staff were excellent and made his time with them very comfortable. On the day of dad's passing we were also treated with love and care. I can't that he staff at Harbour View enough.

Mum has been in Harbour View for a year now and we are very happy with her care. I live a long distance from the home and therefore visit monthly. I have had consistent, excellent communication with the Office and Care staff regarding my mothers condition, as and when it changes. I feel able to contact the home with any concerns and all situations have been fully resolved in a timely manner. This means a great deal to us because of the distance. When I visit I am always made welcome and allowed to stay as long as I wish in mum's room. I have found the actual inside of the building to be consistently spotless and mum's room is wonderfully neat and homely. Her laundry is done daily and to a high standard. We speak daily and she is always talking about the warm and friendly staff. She loves the food too! The high level of Duty of Care mum receives has been evident to me throughout her stay and I feel sure it will continue. The warm bonds she has forged with the staff there are a delight.
