My friend & I visit Margaret a lovely lady who has dementia. She was always very active & also helped many other people. We have known Margaret from church & she also lived near us. She always has a lovely smile when we visit. We took photos last week of church, the choir, and many others. She knew
many of them & of course its a pleasure to visit & all the lovely helpful staff.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad spent six months at Woodlands during one of the most difficult periods of our lives, and the kindness of the team made an immeasurable difference to us all.
The home's layout, divided into smaller areas, felt far more like a family home than a hospital - warm, welcoming and comforting from the
start. Every member of staff, day and night, was exceptional. They truly took the time to get to know my dad as a person. We'll always treasure memories of coffees by the caravan in the garden and a sunny sports day filled with laughter. The team closest to him were incredibly organised, understanding and deeply compassionate in their care. During his final week, the end-of-life care was handled so thoughtfully and professionally. We were supported both emotionally and practically, with a bed provided in his room and countless gentle check-ins from staff who had come to know and care about him. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to highly recommend Woodlands
Reply from Vicky Hutchinson, registered manager at Woodlands Care HomeThank you for your very kind review. I am so pleased we could support you at the most difficult time. The Woodlands team are so caring, and it does feel like a home from home.

My Mum has been a resident at Hilltop for six years, she can be quite challenging but the staff are very calm and patient with her and she is as settled as she can be with dementia. Recently there has been some lovely celebrations eg Christmas and Valentine's Day with singers and a pianist which my
Mum enjoyed and it was lovely to meet other relatives and have a chat. The staff are very supportive and I know I can always talk to them if I have concerns about my Mum's care.

Hilltop Court Care Home

I visit my friend regularly at hilltop, I must say it has massively improved atmosphere wise. Louise is great bringing life to the home, she is always doing activities with residents and she has done more since she has been here than I've ever seen over the years. Some staff you can tell treat there
residents like family and you can see the love and care towards the people they are looking after. Some stuff don't seem to care though by doing the bare minimum and they force a smile. The manager is better then previous ones the home has had although I feel like she never comes out the office, Daniel the admin is very welcoming and always has a smile which is lovely to see. Food is good but sometimes comes out cold. The home is clean, but sometimes does need to be kept on top of. Over all I am happy with hilltop but it could do with some minor improvements.
Reply from Selina Ali, Home Manager at Hilltop Court Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent experience at Hilltop Court Care Home. The wellbeing of our residents is always our highest priority, and we are delighted to hear that you were pleased with the quality of care provided.

Our team is dedicated to delivering the best possible experience for every resident, and it is truly rewarding to have their hard work and commitment acknowledged.

I will speak with our Head Chef regarding your concerns about the food. Please also be assured that I carry out regular walkarounds throughout the day to oversee standards and address any issues promptly.

Since the new manager Selina and Louise the activities coordinator has started working at hilltop court there has been a massive improvement regarding entertainment and activities to keep my dad and other service users occupied which all helps towards their mental health wellbeing. As for the rest of
the HCA's their care and empathy are amazing. Anita and Lauren show so much love and care towards my dad and others and I know my dad thinks the world of them.
The only problem I have is with the laundry as my dad has had so many of his clothes either ruined or gone missing. These items of clothes are not cheep and this has really upset my mum . We have raised this issue but nothing has been done I have asked for his jumper's NOT to be washed by them as we as a family will take them home and wash them properly

St Catherines is home from home to me and my mum. She is always well cared for by the loving caring staff in the dementia unit. No matter what time of day we visit she is always clean, neat and tidy, has her hair cut regularly. St Catherines dementia unit gives us peace of mind knowing mum is living
the best life she can. Staff also ring me if the doctor is coming, jabs and any medical issues, thank you St Catherines.

My friend Peter came to St Catherine's Care Home in March 2025 from hospital and whilst only there for 7 or 8 months, I could not have wished for better care and treatment for what was a particularly challenging period in his life. There appears to be no residents meetings and no minibus available either. Both of which are in your advertising.
