I would like to thank the management team and all the staff for welcoming my mum into the care home. The transition from her previous home was difficult for her, but it is clear that the diligence, kindness, patience, and attentive care shown by everyone have helped her return to her usual self far
more quickly than we ever expected.
I live abroad, but I speak to my mum every day on a messaging app (with the help of my daughter), and I often see staff coming in to carry out their checks. They have such a wonderful manner with her, and their compassion and professionalism have helped her feel more comfortable, secure, and independent. She now happily accepts support from the caring staff, who have shown remarkable patience and dedication in helping her settle in.
I cannot remember the last time I saw her looking so well or sounding so happy. Knowing that she is safe, cared for, and genuinely settled gives us tremendous peace of mind.
Thank you for the outstanding care and support you provide
Reply from Rachel Crimp, Manager at Devonshire House and Devonshire Lodge Care HomeThank you, so much for this lovely review, we are so pleased that your mum is settled well and you have peace of mind. It really does mean so much to the team here.

When visiting Belle Vue staff have been welcoming and told me where my friend was. I have always been offered a drink on visiting and made to feel at ease when needing to discuss anything. My friend is always kept clean, with fresh bedding, towels etc. My friend is allowed to do cleaning and dusting
which she loves and feel better when allowed to do chores and tasks, this helps her to feel useful which she loves.
Reply from Tina Bartin, Manager at Belle Vue Care HomeThank you so much for your review

We're glad you feel welcomed and supported when you visit, and that your friend is happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It's nice to know she enjoys helping out with little tasks-those moments can make such a difference and to help feel more at home.

We will share your kind words with the team. Thanks again for taking the time to write this-it's really appreciate

Recently had to find a suitable care home for my Aunt who was suffering from delirium. Tina and the team were so accommodating and helpful. The facilities are amazing. I would visit daily and can't fault the care my Aunt received. My Aunt has now recovered and has been able to return to independent
living and I can't thank Tina and her Team enough for everything they did to aid my Aunts recovery. If full time care was ever required again in the future this would be my first choice without a doubt. Amazing Team and Amazing care home.

I cannot speak highly enough about this care home. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with kindness, warmth, and genuine compassion. The staff go above and beyond every single day to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable, and truly cared for.
The level of professionalism
is outstanding, but what makes this place exceptional is the heart behind everything they do. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and every resident is treated with dignity, respect, and individuality. It brings such peace of mind knowing our loved one is in such capable and caring hands.
The home itself is always clean, bright, and beautifully maintained, creating a calm and uplifting atmosphere. There is a real sense of community, with engaging activities and thoughtful touches that make it feel like home rather than just a facility.
Thank you to the entire team for your dedication, patience, and unwavering support. You make a world of difference to families like ours.

My mother had a stroke 7 months ago. She has had care needs but has consistently said she wants to go home. I have written and video evidence of this. The care home have worked together with the state to ensure that not only is the bond with my mother severed, but that my mother will be illegally kept
within the confines of the care home for the rest of her life despite her desperately wanting to go home.

They claimed I was stealing the food, they insinuated all kinds of terrible things about me. They would make me wait hours just to see her. They never contacted me when I should be the main point of contact/next of kin, they would contact my sister instead who doesn't even understand my mother. They have worked with the state to ensure that my mother never leaves that building despite her saying she wants to go home every time I see her. It's kidnap - no other word for it. I will now have to repeatedly take actions and raise awareness in order to ever see my mother again/get her home

Reply from Janina John, Regional Manager at Devonshire House and Devonshire Lodge Care HomeThank you for your recent correspondence regarding your mother's care and current residence within our home.
I would first like to acknowledge the feeling expressed in your message. We understand that decisions surrounding a loved one's care, particularly following a stroke or other significant health event, can be extremely emotional and distressing for families. You have raised several serious concerns and these matters are taken very seriously. Given the seriousness of the concerns raised - particularly the allegation of unlawful restriction - I believe it would be most constructive to arrange a formal meeting.
We are committed to acting in your mother's best interests and ensuring that her rights, dignity, and safety are always upheld.
Please contact us to arrange a mutually convenient time for a meeting, which can include senior management and a representative from the local authority or clinical team. We hope to resolve these matters constructively and transparently.
