I enjoyed my respite stay. I wasn't always able to participate in the activities and I am unsure why.

Having spent almost 3 years in Lydgate Lodge Care Home mum sadly passed away on the 29 May 2026. It was so lovely to see both staff and other residents at mum's funeral yesterday. The care that she received at Lydgate Lodge was fantastic. Many of the carers became her friends and she looked forwards
to the daily and often cheeky interactions that took place from both sides. As mum finally started to slip away they treated her with sensitivity, dignity, respect and a deep sense of compassion. Many of the staff were as distressed by her passing, as our family was. Those staff who cared for mum, throughout her stay at Lydgate Lodge, should be so proud of themselves for the care that they gave her, which was filled with love and selflessness. They were all a credit to their profession. Thank you. x

The whole staff team have been extremely kind and supportive to Dad throughout his respite/rehabilitation stay at Lydgate Lodge. It was a great relief to have this period between hospital and returning home, enabling him to regain some mobility and confidence whilst in a safe and pleasant environment.
The
staff were all very friendly, genuine, and visibly happy in their roles; providing kind support to the residents.
They strived to help Dad engage socially whilst respecting his sometimes need for his own quiet space.
Thank you to all.
Reply from Liesel Sharpe, Front of House Manager at Lydgate LodgeThank you for your kind review - we are so glad your dad enjoyed his stay with us, and we wish him all the best for the future!

My mother has been a resident at Snapethorpe Hall Care Home for 5 years. She is very well looked after here and the staff are lovely and go above and beyond to support her needs, my mum enjoys taking part in. The various creative activities provided, including musical entertainment which she loves to
join in with. There is always a vibrant welcoming feeling when I visit. Snapethorpe is a really good care home and the best place for my mum to be cared for.

Terry came to the care home with some trepidation because we have always been together for nearly 52 years. He settled in very well for his 2 weeks of respite care. The staff have been very well. He doesn't say much, probably due to his dementia but I know he has enjoyed his stay there. Thank you very
much.

Mum moved into Colton Lodges residential home a few weeks after her 100th birthday. She was happy and comfortable in her lovely room. The staff cared for her extremely well. After suffering a stroke and spending a few weeks in hospital Mum moved into the nursing care home where she was also well looked
after. Colton Lodges has a warm and welcoming atmosphere where staff are very friendly and respectful at all times and keep the family fully informed of any developments. Would definitely recommend.

Finally got mum to agree to a period of respite care last Friday. The precursor was taking her into The Denby for a meeting with the staff and a completely lunch. Ladt night they save her life calling in the paramedics at the first sign of breathlessness and informing me so me and the dogs could nip
up and put a smile on her face. The community paramedic was on site almost immediately with the big guns following shortly after. She's in hospital just now in oxygen, hopefully she'll be out in a few days to go back to The Denby for end of life care.
The paramedics were issued with the care plan when they took her to hospital. It was the first time I'd seen it. It was brilliant well organised in a fitting template with sufficient duplication so you didn't need to cross reference between aspects. Massive respect and thanks to Tracy and all the staff

Dear Sarah and all people involved Tuesday.
I just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you for the phenomenal care you have given my nan over the past week. It has been such an emotional rollercoaster for our family, but knowing she is surrounded by such kindness, dignity and compassion has meant the
world to me.
I especially want to mention Jade, and the other young girl who was working on Tuesday evening. In that moment, they completely focused on my nan, making sure she was comfortable and cared for, while also comforting and supporting me when I needed it most. Their kindness and compassion in thr moment will stay with me forever, nothing else matter and nothing was any trouble .
I also want to thank Sarah, Paula and Rachael for being so caring, understanding and reassuring during such a difficult time. Your support truly helped me more than you probably realise you all know how much my nan means too us and we just need want her around for as long as its possible.
Reply from Sarah Tomczynski, Home Manager at GreenacresDear Emma, Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our home. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. I have passed your kind comments on to Jade, the team, Paula, and Rachael, as well as the wider team it means a great deal to everyone. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if there is anything further we can support you with.

Mum has been a resident since November 2025 we have been very impressed with the care provided at Lydgate Lodge, nothing is too much for the staff, who go above and beyond to ensure all mums needs are met. The surroundings and furnishings are very comfortable and good quality but most important of all,
mum is very happy living there. Another important thing to mention is the entertainment there is an excellent entertainment itinerary, Zoe works very hard to ensure there is a varied itinerary.

Welllllll, Shetland ponies visited today! Mum absolutely lit up when they both trotted into her room. So many smiles and strokes; she absolutely loved it.
Mum has been resident around 8 weeks now and staff are so kind, caring and gentle and always happy to take time to chat and let us know how she's
getting on. As family of a new resident we too have lots to learn and feel very supported in "learning the ropes". There is always someone on the end of the phone too to ask questions of and to have our minds put at rest. Early days, obviously, but we're very happy in that we feel mum is safe and well cared for.

The entire staff at Lydage Lodge has been excellent. The patience and sympathetic nature of all staff cannot be higher. The dining, entertainment likewise. But above all it is the staff who deserve all the praise (the business end of elderly care) from both of us- many thanks to all. My wife Pauline
has loved every minute of her stay.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Lydgate LodgeDear Roland, We'd like to extend our thanks for your kind words following your wife's short care break with us at Lydgate Lodge care home. Positive feedback such as this is always so gratefully appreciated and will mean a lot to our kind care team. Please do let us know if we can offer any further support to you and your family.

Lydgate Lodge had really nice 'feel' about it from my first visit. The staff are great and always had time for a chat it I ever needed to ask anything. A big positive was the consistency of carers I got to know them on first name terms which made it so much easier on some pretty tough visits. Nothing
is ever perfect but the manahement were always open to listening to any concerns, although it was only a few months of care we couldn't wish for a better final few months for our loved family member.

On my first visit to Lydgate to look around I was very impressed by the home and friendliness of all the staff. Offered a drink and biscuits on arrival. The whole building back inside and out is immaculate. Everything shown online and in the brochure is true unlike some homes. Did not hesitate to allow
my ex along with his sister to go into Lydgate to be cared for. He is settled and very happy.

My father has been a resident in Ashworth Grange since December 2025.
As a family we are very happy in the knowledge that he is being well cared for and all his needs are being met.
The staff are caring and polite.
The manager is very approachable and also knowledgeable about my father which is very
reassuring.
The meals appear well presented and are freshly cooked.
My father's birthday resulted in a cake being baked for him and the head cook asked what flavour he would like.
I cannot help but recommend this home.
There has been many activities organised and residents appear to enjoy them tremendously
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Ashworth GrangeDear Davina, We'd like to take a moment to thank you for leaving such a wonderful review of our home. It means so much to our colleagues when they receive this level of praise; they work tirelessly throughout the year to deliver the kindest possible care to residents and hearing such fantastic feedback is really the icing on the cake to them! Thank you, once again, for your kind words.

My Mum is in snapethorpe care home now and has been for over 2 years, it was difficult at the time as mum had always been fully independent but unfortunately she now has dementia which has been very upsetting for us all. The care her has been absolutely great, she has her own room with all her personal
things in to make it feel comforting, depending on how she feels she can stay in her room, still cared for, she can also join in in the lounge with other residents are for company, there's many events take place to entertain, arts and crafts you can see all around the home, it's lovely to see staff treating your family lovely and so caring, there's an on site hairdresser on Tuesday and Wednesday that my mum attends every week, the staff also do their nails it's wonderful to see, so Thankyou to everyone that cares for my mum and anyone thinking of having to put a loved one in a care home don't worry it will be OK
