Mum was at The Laurels for respite care while my dad had an operation. We chose The Laurels because all the staff were friendly and it had a homely feel. Whenever I visited mum she would always tell me how lovely all the staff were and I also felt welcomed. She became more mobile and I noticed an
improvement in her memory. There was always lots going on that mum could join in with and she also enjoyed the food. I appreciated when I left that I knew mum was being well looked after so I could concentrate on helping my dad. We plan on visiting for the coffee mornings as we have missed the team since mum has come home.

My mum recently moved in to The Laurels - I couldn't ask for more, perfect cleanliness, care, food, entertainment and empathy. A family friend went to visit another family friend in her (very expensive) home and said how lucky mum was as the other home was 'disgusting'. Thankfully mum moved to The Laurels.

After researching several homes in our area to get respite care for my dad we found The Laurels Care Home. On speaking to one staff member in particular and her team we felt that we had been listened to and reassured that dad would be well cared for. my mum and wife visited before we decided and they
were very pleased with what thy saw. my wife is an ex carer and found nothing to raise any concerns. the home is clean tidy and doesn't smell ( the last home we used was very disagreeable on the nose ). the staff were busy but happy to pause and chat and everyone from the top down seemed to properly care for there residents. One staff member in particular and the team answered all questions and did there upmost to help get dad a space in a nice clean sunny room. the food was good and even managed to get some of the residents out to the sea side. overall it was a stress free two weeks which allowed my mum to have a good break and some much needed time for her. when the time comes rosemary and her fantastic team will be our first call

The Laurels Care Home is a warm, friendly place. The staff are very good, with one person in the office standing out a long way and has always been kind and reassuring. The staff are very kind to Mum, and make our family feel welcome. Mum enjoys the meals provided, and has improved both physically and
mentally during her residence at The Laurels. As a family, we are concerned for Mum's privacy, as she is frequently disturbed in her room by other clients. However, the staff are usually quick to respond.

We feel very lucky to have a small, friendly care home on our doorstep. It's lovely that we get to know the staff and other residents as it was a very close, friendly atmosphere. I always feel welcome when I visit and my mother-in-law always seems happy though she is not able to join in with the activities,
she enjoys having her hair done and nails painted!

We were very fortunate to find this home at a family crisis. Dad when alive held the opportunity to see my mum settle into her new home, which gave him so much reassurance.

The Laurels Care Home is like a home from home and the staff are first class. They dare and look after my dad really well. They are always really friendly and always ready to give you a drink. I think we the family were very lucky to find such a good home for our dad.

Care home is very friendly. All staff are very caring and answer any queries we may have honestly but compassionately.
The carers do seem to really care about my father.
The carers do have a sense of humour which is needed!

The Laurels is an excellent care home. The staff have given the best possible care to my father-in-law. They are all so friendly and kind.
He is settled and us so well looked after, which makes us feel so happy.

Mum-in-law lived at The Laurels for the past six months and we cannot fault the care and compassion, she received whilst living there. Sadly, her increased dementia needs meant that we had to find somewhere more suitable to meet those needs. All the staff at The Laurels were wonderful with Mum, patient,
kind and so caring and did their utmost to support her and us as a family. The home itself was a real home from home and we were so sad when she had to leave. The staff were a huge help and support with what was a very difficult situation for us and continue to be so. Absolutely nothing has been too much trouble and we are so very grateful to them all. (I have not given a rating for activities simply because Mum wasn't able to take part.)

My mum has been in The Laurels for just over a year. She is 88, has advanced dementia. Her care during this time has been absolutely excellent. The staff are kind, caring, patient, and do all they can for Mum as well as supporting the family when they need it.

My mum has been at The Laurels for nearly nine months. The home is amazing as are the staff and although Mum's dementia has worsened they continue to try and include her in activities and take her out when possible. I feel we are giving her the best life possible in the circumstances and I can't thank
everyone enough for their dedication love and patience.

A very positive and friendly experience, staff go over and above to provide a secure, caring environment, nothing is too much trouble.

My late aunt enjoyed living at The Laurels. She liked the company, food, activities, outings and said the staff were always kind and caring. I saw this for myself, receiving a warm welcome each time I visited. The Laurels is a lovely place to live, very homely, not at all stuffy and it felt like a family
there. It's just the sort of home I'd be happy to spend my twilight years in and would happily recommend it.

I used to visit The Laurels with a group of toddlers and share a music and movement session with the residents. I always got a wonderful feeling about the care given and the compassion and kindness of the staff. Since that time, a friend's mum has become a resident and I can't commend the team more

My mum is living at The Laurels and she is cared for extremely well. I absolutely cannot fault her care. All of the staff are lovely and it is a very homely place. I know I could not have found a better place for my lovely mum.
