After surgery, I needed to heal & relax slowly. Ferrars Hall has been most definitely the right place to do that. I will be happy to return if need be

From the moment I stepped into Castor Lodge Care Home for my respite care, I was made to feel very welcome. Nothing at all throughout my whole two week stay was too much trouble for anyone. The lodge itself is nothing short of five star quality. Every detail has been tastefully addressed. The staff, without exception were exceptional. The food and choices were very good. There was always something on the menu for me to enjoy. I cannot rate Castor Lodge Care Home highly enough and would not hesitate to come back at any time to be thoroughly cared for and pampered. My sincere thanks to everyone.

Outstanding! The care and attention shown by everyone for our Dad. He could not have found anywhere better to see out his days. Thank you all so very much for the kindness, dignity & professionalism you have shown him. We will miss you all, and our regular visits.

The support of the staff and their kind and positive attitude has been excellent. Sometimes the main lounge can be quite noisy, so it's nice to have the garden room for some peace and quiet. The range of activities is good, but I haven't taken part in many yet as I've only been there for two weeks so far. Perhaps name badges for residents to help us get to know one another. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend it here.

I was informed mum settled in very well at the home. When I visited, I found the carers to be very understanding. Mum is treated with dignity and respect. There was an incident with a crochet blanket. I did not want it put in a tumble dryer, and it was. It came apart in a few places. It took me a long time to make. I'm sure I mentioned that I would wash and dry it.

The staff could not have been more accommodating, kind and attentive.

He has respect and dignity back, he has started to notice others again, and instead of being fearful, he has relaxed. The staff and carers at Ferrars Hall have all contributed to this positive shift, and I am so grateful to you all.

All aspects of this home are superb but I think its the entertainment team that has impressed me the most, they put on so many different activities and events that keep residents engaged, its been wonderful seeing my Aunt laugh and have fun.

My mother arrived at Ferrars Hall last November and, much to my relief, has settled exceptionally well into her new home. This is down to a combination of things: the professionalism, attentiveness, patience and warmth of the staff; the excellent facilities; the entertainment organised for residents; and the delicious food (I am told!). A sincere thanks from Mum's family to all those who have contributed to this heartwarming and reassuring situation.

I am pleased how my brother is cared for he is very settled here. I have no complaints.

My wife has lived at Ferrars Hall for 9 months now. Before that she attended day care sessions twice a week for a year. This made the transition to residence very smooth as she knew the building and faces. She was welcomed and settled in very well. Despite her dementia she smiles and laughs more and has better mood than when at home with just me.

All the staff are simply wonderful. Cleaners, catering and carers always greet her by name, and often enquire about how I am doing too. I honestly can't imagine or wish for better care of her. We have no other family and I am confident that if I am unable to visit her, she will be well cared for.

The home has a very effective relationship with her GP surgery team and when medical issues arose, they were very prompt in calling for support from doctors and paramedics as well as keeping me informed at all times.

I visited a good number of care homes before choosing Ferrars Hall and have never regretted my choice.

My Mum has been a resident now for two years having arrived initially for respite following a stroke. We were initially nervous about her going into care as it was not her preference however after some early teething issues we could not be happier with Castor Lodge. It's difficult not to be awed by the luxurious atmosphere and glamorous decor but when you look beyond you will find delightful, caring and hardworking staff and a genuinely loving atmosphere. Mum enjoys the all activities and has made good friends and the staff look after her superbly well. It has been a relief to see some stability in the management team with Priya at the helm and I hope to see her stay in that post. Other members of staff who make a real difference are Satish, Cedric, Reshma, Chipo, Keisha, Asuma, Alison, Sue, Saskia and others who I know I have forgotten. Everyone knows who Mum is and that really matters. This was an important decision and thankfully, Mum is happy here.

Great staff, facilities and overall care. Good levels of interaction and stimulation. My relative is very happy here and I would recommend Castor Lodge to anyone in the Peterborough area. Well done to all.

We are so relieved and grateful to have found this care home knowing that he is in excellent hands.

Be appreciated by other residence I had in conversation. The activity team provide all sorts of facilities but very often I find when I visit her she is isolated and alone. She enjoys music ,classical and lighter forms but not too loud .The television in the main lounge is permanently on with low level appeal for most tastes . In her case activities like climbing walking canal journeys, capture her interest more. She spends a lot of time in a wheel chair where she is also fed. Inevitably food find it way onto the frame and seat and foot support ?

I would like to say how grateful I am to all the staff at Ferrars Hall.Since my mum and dad became residents in February 2025 they have shown compassion , care and kindness above all expectations.My parents are now in a much better place , they are settled , happier and content and I have Ferrars Hall to thank for that.
