My dad moved to Ferrars Hall in Dec 2025. He was failing badly at his previous care home, and no one noticed. I was tired of all the battles since he was given the chance to move to Ferrars Hall my dad is living again.
He has respect and dignity back, he has started to notice others again, and instead
of being fearful, he has relaxed. The staff and carers at Ferrars Hall have all contributed to this positive shift, and I am so grateful to you all.

This care home is exceptional. I'm a Paramedic and therefore go into different care homes all the time. When I was informed that my Aunt was going to be placed in a care home I was anxious as to which one she would be allocated. I can honestly say this home is above my expectations of what I had hoped
for. It's like a 5 star hotel!!
All staff are very attentive to her needs and treat her with care and compassion and respect her wishes and autonomy. The staff are always so friendly not only to residents but also to any guests, any requests we have had they try their best to accommodate.
The standard of cleanliness is excellent, every time I visit some form of house keeping is taking place.
All aspects of this home are superb but I think its the entertainment team that has impressed me the most, they put on so many different activities and events that keep residents engaged, its been wonderful seeing my Aunt laugh and have fun.
Reply from Hannah Louise Mills, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Lyncroft Care HomeThank you so much for your kind feedback Rebecca which we will absolutely share with all of the teams within the home, including the housekeeping and wellbeing teams. They will be thrilled that their hard work has been so highly recognised. It is our pleasure to care for your Aunt and we hope that she continues to be comfortable with us!

My mother arrived at Ferrars Hall last November and, much to my relief, has settled exceptionally well into her new home. This is down to a combination of things: the professionalism, attentiveness, patience and warmth of the staff; the excellent facilities; the entertainment organised for residents;
and the delicious food (I am told!). A sincere thanks from Mum's family to all those who have contributed to this heartwarming and reassuring situation.

Superb care home. I cannot fault the care team in any way. It is beautifully clean and all the residents are happy and treated with love. I chose Lyncroft because after visiting several homes in the area it was the best fit for my mum and I believed she would be happy there. I wasn't wrong. It's pricey,
but I wouldn't want my mum anywhere else. I believe you get what you pay for.
High praise for this beautiful place.

My wife has lived at Ferrars Hall for 9 months now. Before that she attended day care sessions twice a week for a year. This made the transition to residence very smooth as she knew the building and faces. She was welcomed and settled in very well. Despite her dementia she smiles and laughs more and
has better mood than when at home with just me.
All the staff are simply wonderful. Cleaners, catering and carers always greet her by name, and often enquire about how I am doing too. I honestly can't imagine or wish for better care of her. We have no other family and I am confident that if I am unable to visit her, she will be well cared for.
The home has a very effective relationship with her GP surgery team and when medical issues arose, they were very prompt in calling for support from doctors and paramedics as well as keeping me informed at all times.
I visited a good number of care homes before choosing Ferrars Hall and have never regretted my choice.

My Mum has been a resident now for two years having arrived initially for respite following a stroke. We were initially nervous about her going into care as it was not her preference however after some early teething issues we could not be happier with Castor Lodge. It's difficult not to be awed by
the luxurious atmosphere and glamorous decor but when you look beyond you will find delightful, caring and hardworking staff and a genuinely loving atmosphere. Mum enjoys the all activities and has made good friends and the staff look after her superbly well. It has been a relief to see some stability in the management team with Priya at the helm and I hope to see her stay in that post. Other members of staff who make a real difference are Satish, Cedric, Reshma, Chipo, Keisha, Asuma, Alison, Sue, Saskia and others who I know I have forgotten. Everyone knows who Mum is and that really matters. This was an important decision and thankfully, Mum is happy here.

Whenever we visit we are are so incredibly grateful to every member of staff for their kindness.
From day 1 back in September staff learned my father in laws name and always offer him the friendliest greeting . That also applies to any of us who visit. He initially came for respite but after just
a few weeks was asking if he could stay permanently. That speaks volumes for the wonderful staff and environment.
We are so relieved and grateful to have found this care home knowing that he is in excellent hands.

My wife is currently some eight months into residence at the home. She has during that time been content. A few minor issues involving a fall and banging her head which resulted in bruising. Her walking has deteriorated in the period ,and I have requested more walking (supported) which is being conducted
but needs to encouraged more. Some additional form of exercise (static cycling would be beneficial) This would help her core strength and would
Be appreciated by other residence I had in conversation. The activity team provide all sorts of facilities but very often I find when I visit her she is isolated and alone. She enjoys music ,classical and lighter forms but not too loud .The television in the main lounge is permanently on with low level appeal for most tastes . In her case activities like climbing walking canal journeys, capture her interest more. She spends a lot of time in a wheel chair where she is also fed. Inevitably food find it way onto the frame and seat and foot support ?
Reply from Priya Jassar, Home Manager at Castor Lodge Care HomeThank you for your feedback regarding your wife's care.
I can confirm that, as part of our new initiative for 2026, we are placing a greater focus on exercise within the home. A static cycle machine has been ordered and will be introduced as part of our daily activities to support mobility and strength. We hope this will have a positive impact on the wellbeing of our residents.
I will be in touch shortly to arrange a care review, during which we can discuss the other concerns you raised. Please note that our doors are always open, and I am available to be contacted at any time. If I am unavailable, Morgan or one of our deputies will be more than happy to speak with you.

My mother has been a resident at Ferrars Hall for nearly two years. The facilities are excellent and the rooms and communal areas are kept clean, tidy and welcoming. The staff are kind and considerate
but often busy and short of time to give the extra time needed to some residents. They try hard
with a varied activities programme available to residents and include families and carers. The food is adequate but sometimes looks a little bland and beige and extra, more exciting and colourful cuisine would make a change and perhaps be more tempting for some residents. Overall, I believe this to be the best place for my mother to be at this time in her life as she has supervision and care and the staff treat her and all the residents with dignity and respect.
Reply from Katie Peters, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Ferrars Hall Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave Ferrars Hall a review. Thank you for your feedback regarding the food at Ferrars Hall, every effort is made to ensure that residents have access to food that is to their liking. We hold regular resident's meetings, where the Chef Manager is present and residents have the opportunity to request meals they wish to see on the menu. If you would like to discuss the food further please do not hesitate to arrange this with Donna Lee when you are next visiting the home. Thank you once again for taking the time to leave a review, we are pleased to hear that you feel your loved one is treated with dignity and respect and it is a pleasure to have them as part of our Ferrars Hall Family.

My aunties room was lovely and clean.
It was lovely to see Clair as the manger after all these years, she's doing a fantastic job.

Mum celebrated her 90th birthday at Castor Lodge this week, the staff were wonderful. Quite a few friends and family came, and food and drink were provided, together with an amazing cake. Nothing was too much trouble, and it made it such a special day for Mum, and her family and friends.
Mum has
been at Castor since the summer, and we could not be happier with the care she is receiving. She is so happy, enjoys the activities, has made some lovely friends and is eating so well. She is really thriving.

My grandad came to Castor Lodge at first as respite having had a number of falls at home. The welcome at the home was brilliant and helped transition him to become a full time resident. It was the right time as grandad could no longer live safely in his own home. Grandad has settled in well through
caring staff and a great community feel that seen him make new friends around him and a created a strong sense of belonging in a cracking environment. I would fully recommend Castor Lodge it's professional welcoming kind and has strong community spirit.

Lovely home in a beautiful quiet setting, couldn't be better and at a critical time fraught with difficulties.
They delivered an excellent service which partly made up for the poor service paid for over several decades from the NHS.
The care home provided an essential base for continued care unavailable
locally and has been essential for my recovery.
Reply from Morgan Hicks, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Castor Lodge Care HomeThank you very much for your kind words. I am so pleased out fantastic team at Castor Lodge was able to support you during your recovery. Wishing you all the best and do not forget to pop in for a coffee ( or a coca cola)! Best Wishes
