Excellent caring provision. I've visited many relatives in care homes over the years and this is without doubt, the best care home I've ever seen. Caring, friendly, competent staff. Exceptionally clean. Beautiful environment. Food restaurant quality. Air conditioning. Attentive staff, lots of activities. Individual needs catered for at all levels. Like a 5 star hotel for older people with a range of needs.

Mum was apprehensive about going into a care home but has been shown nothing but kindness at Moat House. My sisters and I visit quite regularly and we are made to feel very welcome by everyone on every occasion. Mum has now got to know some of the other residents and finds the carers very kind and attentive. We are extremely impressed with Moat House and feel Mum is in safe hands

Review of Greenwood Court Great Baddow from J M (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Mum was in Greenwood Court for respite following a broken hip. She was well cared for and the facilities were generally excellent. The only notable issue was the TV system in her bedroom that needed the TV control and Satellite control to operate - confusing for an elderly person, and so limiting her used of the TV. The staff were caring, helpful and friendly and she also made good used of the visiting external physiotherapist who got her walking again. The bistro area is a great social place - made it feel a real community. Security good - although when power failed and all doors locked this was worrying to mum. In summary a lovely care home and community.

A home from home with all of my husbands needs taken into account and generally an excellent experience. My husbands complex needs require patience and skill and both are given generously. Both the medical and administration members of staff have a family attitude and, therefore, I never feel concerned if I need to make a suggestion or change anything.

From the onset communication with the home manager has been excellent. My father has started a respite period with a view to become a full-time resident... All staff have been very accomodating, attentive and delivering their services with a smile.. the accomadation is of a high standard and the food is excellent.

Review of The Grange Care Home from Louise F (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Dad went to The Grange reluctantly after losing my mum earlier this yr. He was first assessed at our house by the genuinely kind & caring home manager, who leads a wonderful team of compassionate, kind, caring, professionals; from the carers, to the cleaners, the maintenance man, kitchen staff, activities staff, receptionists & admin. I am always greeted with a wave and a smile and I'm contacted straight away if there are concerns about my dad, or just to reassure me if I've been worried. Carers take time to sit and chat with him, and he is treated with respect and kindness. He speaks highly of both the staff and the home itself and enjoys the food which he says is plentiful.

The small friendly setting is perfect for my dad and cleanliness is of a very high standard. His room is tastefully furnished and decorated and cleaned daily. Dad is allowed his own pictures and possessions which has helped him settle. I really couldn't be happier and thank all the staff for everything they do.

Review of Moat House Care Home from Andrew S (Son of Resident) published on 19 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother moved into the Moat House in October 2025 after a fall. She has Alzheimer's.
The care provided at every step of the way has been exceptional. ALL staff are genuinely caring and anticipate and deal with her every need. We recently had a 90th birthday party at the Moat House. The private lounge had been decorated for the birthday and food prepared to an excellent standard. The management of the event was faultless.

It gives me great peace of mind knowing mum is safe and well cared for.

I visit an elderly friend weekly when possible. My friend is frail through age and various infirmities, plus at times confused, fearful and agitated. The whole building is extremely well-maintained and superbly clean, plus fragrant. Each and every member of staff is professional, efficient and welcoming. It is evidently managed and led by excellent, inspirational people.

I was very disappointed with the appearance of my husband on the two occasions I visited him. He hadn't been shaved; he was in his night T-shirt on the first occasion, and on the second occasion, he hadn't been shaved, and his hair was greasy. When I collected him after his stay, a lot of his new clothes had been lost. The staff did find some of the items but there are still several items of clothing missing.

When you enter reception It's like walking into a five star hotel. The reception staff are absolutely fantastic and go way above the reception role.
Mum was made so welcome and all the staff treat her like family and are always on hand for care and friendship.
The rooms are spotlessly clean as are the rest of the building and it has a really lovely feel to it, bright and relaxing.
The gardens are beautiful with many areas to sit and relax by the lake.
There is nowhere better!

Well done

Our Mum was living here until yesterday. One of her last words were "I love it here". Every person working here have made this difficult time extremely easy for us. All showing such caring, kindness and nothing seems a problem or hassle. In her last few days her lippy was applied and hair brushed by the wonderful carers knowing that it was important to her. Her send off was respectful and very heartfelt. We can't praise the staff enough. I hope I get this care in my old age. Thank you. And I have never seen so many kisses given out in my life. Xx

Review of Greenwood Court Great Baddow from R L (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 9 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother in law became a resident of Greenwood Park Care Home in October 2025 after a short stay in hospital after which the hospital stated she needed full time care so was going to be discharged from hospital to a care home. Myself (who has Lasting Power of Attorney) and my wife intervened to chose the care home. We contacted Greenwood Court and were quickly invited to view. Having then decided this was the sort of care home we were looking for the management of the home attended the hospital to carry out an assessment of my m.i.l. It was quickly agreed that my m.i.l. would become a resident of your care home. Since then my m.i.l has become accustomed to life in the home.

My m.i.l has now become used to being a care home resident and is very happy with her life there. Throughout we have been very happy with the home's staff both the management and the care departments. The atmosphere in the home is very welcoming and friendly. The level of care is excellent.

My brother in law has been in the home since June 25 he is chair bound in has chronic back pain .He is a bit reclusive and does not participate in the many activities organised by the staff .He is well looked after by the delicate care staff and any queries are taken care of quickly and efficiently .The food is of good quality and variety served in his room by his request.

His care plan is regularly reviewed and discussed with me as his L.P.A.

Review of Moat House Care Home from Gail E (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mums' care was inadequate at her previous "supported living" situation. I needed to find dementia care for her and visited many care homes around Cambridge and North Essex, I was shocked at how unpleasant they were. It wasn't until I viewed Moat House that I felt truly excited. After being shown around by Debbie I realised this was the care home for mum. Not only was it highly welcoming, vibrant and super clean but you could see from the residents' faces they were extremely well looked after and happy. Mum was able to choose a bedroom of her liking which was big enough to house her most treasured furniture and belongings. I am truly grateful that mum was accepted for permanent residency and indebted to Debbie who liaised with social workers and all other necessary teams dealing with mum. She sorted admission paperwork so mums move-in was swift. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum has now improved, already been on outings, and participated in activities. I cannot rate this highly enough!

Moat House is more than a Care Home; all of the staff are kind and thoughtful, always there to help with a smile and have time for the residents.
