My father came to Oak Manor in July this year for his final few months of his life. He had complex physical and mental health needs which required around the clock nursing and personal care. He was completely bedbound with limited movement. Every member of staff treated my father with dignity, kindness
and patience. My father was not an easy man to look after but the whole team did everything they could to make him feel he was at his family home. We particularly want thank all the staff for their time and effort they took to set up a celebration for our parents 72nd wedding anniversary for the whole family. The support the whole family received in the last few weeks of our father's life was fantastic. Our mother particularly had huge support on her visits to see her husband and we were encouraged to spend as much time as we wanted to until our father died. I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Manor for the care of a loved one.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Oak Manor Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We're truly honoured to hear that your father's final months were spent with dignity and kindness, and that your family felt so supported throughout. The team will be especially touched by your comments about the anniversary celebration and the care shown to your mother. Your recommendation means a great deal to everyone at Oak Manor.

All my dealings with staff doing a variety of tasks (in a testing environment with dementia patients)was that they all cared and took pride in their work.
The management who lead this team are exceptional. All the staff speak highly of their management team .This comes across in vibes of the place
and that they like working there.
Happy staff make all the difference.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Oak Manor Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. The care that our father received in the 3 months he was here was incredible. All the staff were kind, caring, knowledgeable and the communication was excellent at all times. The home felt like a home for the residents and the ethos is definitely 'We will fit around what the residents want and like"
not the residents have to fit in, with the running of the care home.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Oak Manor Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. After my fall, I came with my family, came for an interview. The meeting with the manager was very professional but overlaid with care, kindness and empathy. The staff have been wonderful. Always helpful and cheerful, as well as responding to my changing needs. Anyone coming here can be certain of receiving

I celebrated my 81st birthday on the 14th July and the kitchens produced a wonderful buffet for the afternoon, sausage rolls to die for, birthday cake, strawberry's and cream. As always the food was so tasty. All the staff helped me enjoy the day, housekeepers, carers and nurses.they all helped me to
make 81 not such a dreadful day to be 81.

My mother has been living at Oak Manor for six weeks and my family could not be happier with the care she is receiving. The staff are extremely compassionate and friendly, and the home is wonderfully busy with fun experiences for the residents. My mother, who has dementia, did not settle at all in two
previous homes, and it was very difficult to find a new place for her, but at Oak Manor she has been welcomed with open arms. It has resulted in a real upturn in her levels of happiness and stability, which is a great credit to all of the staff. I highly recommend Oak Manor.
Reply from Nicole Howarth, on behalf of the team at Oak Manor Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! My Father was at Oak Manor for around 6 weeks and the care he received was excellent.
All the staff from Management through to the cleaners, were kind, happy and very friendly. We were always made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door.
My Father had dementia and the care provided
was full of kindness, dignified, caring and with patience. As a family, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
The meals provided always looked very appetising, snacks and drinks were also provided in-between meal times.
As a family we were extremely happy that we picked this home for our loved one to be cared for.

The care and compassion shown to my relative in the short time he was at Oak Manor was exemplary.
The first things I noticed was the calm and relaxed atmosphere, the friendliness of staff, and the way staff treated people with empathy, respect and kindness. Staff clearly demonstrated the professional
values I would expect.
As a registered nurse and a nurse academic, I would hold Oak Manor as an excellent example of how people with dementia should be cared for. I am so grateful to all the staff, especially the manager, who were so lovely to my relative's son and daughter-in-law after his death.

My dad has been living at Oak Manor for just over 2 months.
My first impressions were that the staff were all friendly and kind. The home clean and residents settled and well looked after.
ALL of the staff have made a genuine effort to get to know my dad and talk to him about things that interest
him.
I am also extremely grateful for the support they have given me and my family.
Overall, I feel very lucky that my dad is living in this lovely home.

After a short residency in another care home, my Dad was moved to Oak Manor.
He has some quite tricky care needs and has in the past been difficult to look after, our family were a little nervous about him being moved to another home that potentially couldn't manage him.
We needn't have worried. The
staff are all amazing, walking angels there is so much love and care given to not just every resident, but their families too.
My Dad is a retired priest and we discovered that the staff have been singing hymns to him to calm him when he is anxious for instance. The activities co-ordinator went out of her way to find 'Sing Together' videos that my Dad was in and bought a giant screen into his room so he could watch it.
While we visited, every member of staff popped their heads into the room to say hello to Dad and our family and it was clear that they are all passionate about delivering exceptional care.
This place is outstanding, amazing people and care. Thank you.
Reply from Home Manager, Home Manager at Oak Manor Nursing HomeThis has made our day, Mary, thank you so much for sharing your amazing feedback with us! We're overjoyed to read your lovely comments about our team - they are all so passionate and committed to their roles and it will mean so much to them to receive such high praise for their efforts. We know how difficult it has been for your family and how daunting it can be to find the right home that can manage Dad's needs, but we're so pleased that our team have been able to take good care of him and help to put your minds at ease. Thank you again for your kind words - this will put smiles on a lot of faces!
