My husband came to Ivy Court October 2025.
It took me a very long time to come to terms with the fact that after 3 years of looking after him at home myself I could not care for my husband at home anymore.
When I came to visit Ivy Court for the first time and meet the team I felt reassured that what
I with the support of my family had decided was the right path for my husband's wellbeing and my health.
So it became easier choosing Ivy Court for my beloved husband and it makes me feel so happy that he is happy there and is loved and respected by all the staff.
The whole team from top to bottom is fantastic and it creates an atmosphere of happiness as far as I am concerned and my family feel the same when they visit.
As you enter the welcoming feel sort of hugs you as all the staff greets you with a welcome smile on their faces.
The kitchen staff from head chef to all the other staff are fabulous and they create yummy food. The entertainment team are smashing too.
Thank you team I/C

mum died at the end of November 2025 and Ivy court contributed to her death. She was on a special diet (puréed/ mince and moist later on) and the staff repeatedly gave her unsafe food. One occasion giving her a plate of ham sandwiches when she was supposed to be on liquid/purée food. Incident have ranged
from a physical slap (with bruises) to bullying by carers and being served cold food. Not being served food at all but entries made in carers notes food had been offered and just complete neglect including my mums bed/bedding smelling of urine.I tried so hard to get her out of this place but it was too late and the last incident which was the 6th/7th mum was cooked a dry cheese omelette which was not even safe with cheese which my mum choked on and was in critical care less than a week. Fluids were not thickened to the right level which also contributed and she died. I'm heartbroken please ignore the "good rating' . It had been in special measure for years!!! See previous CQC
Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Ivy CourtWe are all so sorry for your loss. As you're aware, we have been investigating the alleged incidents you reference in your review as it is important to us that each of our residents receives the very best of care from us. My father came to Oak Manor in July this year for his final few months of his life. He had complex physical and mental health needs which required around the clock nursing and personal care. He was completely bedbound with limited movement. Every member of staff treated my father with dignity, kindness
and patience. My father was not an easy man to look after but the whole team did everything they could to make him feel he was at his family home. We particularly want thank all the staff for their time and effort they took to set up a celebration for our parents 72nd wedding anniversary for the whole family. The support the whole family received in the last few weeks of our father's life was fantastic. Our mother particularly had huge support on her visits to see her husband and we were encouraged to spend as much time as we wanted to until our father died. I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Manor for the care of a loved one.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Oak Manor Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We're truly honoured to hear that your father's final months were spent with dignity and kindness, and that your family felt so supported throughout. The team will be especially touched by your comments about the anniversary celebration and the care shown to your mother. Your recommendation means a great deal to everyone at Oak Manor.

All my dealings with staff doing a variety of tasks (in a testing environment with dementia patients)was that they all cared and took pride in their work.
The management who lead this team are exceptional. All the staff speak highly of their management team .This comes across in vibes of the place
and that they like working there.
Happy staff make all the difference.

The care that our father received in the 3 months he was here was incredible. All the staff were kind, caring, knowledgeable and the communication was excellent at all times. The home felt like a home for the residents and the ethos is definitely 'We will fit around what the residents want and like"
not the residents have to fit in, with the running of the care home.

I celebrated my 81st birthday on the 14th July and the kitchens produced a wonderful buffet for the afternoon, sausage rolls to die for, birthday cake, strawberry's and cream. My mother has been living at Oak Manor for six weeks and my family could not be happier with the care she is receiving. The staff are extremely compassionate and friendly, and the home is wonderfully busy with fun experiences for the residents. My mother, who has dementia, did not settle at all in two
previous homes, and it was very difficult to find a new place for her, but at Oak Manor she has been welcomed with open arms. It has resulted in a real upturn in her levels of happiness and stability, which is a great credit to all of the staff. I highly recommend Oak Manor.

My Father was at Oak Manor for around 6 weeks and the care he received was excellent.
All the staff from Management through to the cleaners, were kind, happy and very friendly. We were always made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door.
My Father had dementia and the care provided
was full of kindness, dignified, caring and with patience. As a family, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
The meals provided always looked very appetising, snacks and drinks were also provided in-between meal times.
As a family we were extremely happy that we picked this home for our loved one to be cared for.

The care and compassion shown to my relative in the short time he was at Oak Manor was exemplary.
The first things I noticed was the calm and relaxed atmosphere, the friendliness of staff, and the way staff treated people with empathy, respect and kindness. Staff clearly demonstrated the professional
values I would expect.
As a registered nurse and a nurse academic, I would hold Oak Manor as an excellent example of how people with dementia should be cared for. I am so grateful to all the staff, especially the manager, who were so lovely to my relative's son and daughter-in-law after his death.
