My Brother Ian has been at Coppice Lea for some 18 months, and from the outset has been made most welcome as I have when I visit him. He is cared for very well and liked by all staff, even though he can be a bit difficult at times. His room is also kept clean and tidy. If I have a question his carer,
Shannon or the medical team are always prepared to answer my request. The meals provided are to a high standard, with a good variety for all tastes and there is a different lunch choice every day. Plenty of activities are organised for the residents, all of whom are encouraged, where possible to participate. It is always easy to find a fault if you are that way inclined, but I cannot fault it as the care given to Ian has far exceeded my expectations.
Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Coppice LeaThank you so much for your kind words, and for taking the time to share your experience of our home. I want to say a big thank you to all the staff. They are all so friendly and welcoming, whatever their role. They seem to know my husband well and understand his diffculties which can be challenging at times. They show incredible patience with him. When they see either me or our daughter, they give
us the latest information and, if they have time, stop to chat. We know how he's getting on and what he's finding difficult. He can't communicate with us himself so these exchanges with the staff are very important to us.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Knowle Park Nursing HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt feedback. Mum moved to Thames View as her Alzheimers progressed to the point where she needed greater care. All the staff helped mum to settle in quickly and comfortably. The team ensured that she engaged in all relevant activities and worked tirelessly to keep her mentally engaged. Towards the end the team of
carers and dieticians worked with the GP to adapt her care plan and facilitated food to suit mum's needs. At the end mum had super care provided professionally and with dignity. A lovely care home with lovely staff.

My gran has been at Coppice Lea now for nearly 7 years. She is well cared for and liked by all the staff and we as a family are very happy with the care she is receiving . She doesn't participate in many activities unless we are involved too but is happy when she does. We love how the home includes
the families in events and activities so we are able to spend more time there with her. We have good communication with the staff almost daily and they are all wonderful! My gran is treated very well and her room is always clean and tidy. The food is good too and varied weekly to suit the needs of the residents and family can sometimes join in for lunch at a small charge. Staff are friendly and helpful at all times and welcome us every time. Can't fault anything and we are truly grateful that they care so much for my gran.

I have been made to feel very welcome since I arrived. The personnel are excellent getting to know your likes and dislikes as much as they can and ensuring you are comfortable at all times. Surrounded by trees the home is set in fabulous grounds which are maintained beautifully. My room is clean and
bright and tastefully decorated in a contemporary style and I have the most fantastic view overlooking the grounds. There is a weekly newsletter with all the activities available and at Christmas everyone excelled themselves lots of decorations, fabulous food and a jolly time was had by all. I am very happy here.

My Mum has lived at Coppice Lea for 15 months. As her needs have changed, Shannon and her wonderful staff have looked after my mum so well. Her dementia has worsened over this time. Mum is 95 now. They assess her growing needs as time goes on and I can feel at ease leaving my precious mum with such
lovely caring staff. My sisters and I are so grateful for their genuine loving and caring attitude. She couldn't be in better hands. It is such a warm and comfortable home with amazing food and such dedicated entertainment staff. I like the fact that they are in regular' contact with the relatives to discuss any changes or concerns.

Sadly Mum left us on New Year's Eve but she was cared for in Cranmer Court for nearly 3 years.
Mum was so well looked after by a very dedicated team of carers and I thank them sincerely for the love and kindness they showed towards our Mummy during this period of her life.
Mum's room was her new home
with patio doors that opened out into the wonderful gardens where she spent much time sitting in the sun.
Whenever we came to visit we received a warm welcome at reception and the staff (nursing, cleaning and catering) became good friends and felt like part of the family.
Thank you Cranmer Court for your support to Mum and us over the last 3 years.

My brother arrived at the home after several weeks in hospital. This was his second stay. The first was July when he was virtually unable to walk. Within 4 weeks he was striding around with a walking stick.
In November he again, after a month in hospital went to Thames View this time to stay as a resident.
They looked after him so well, give him attention, physiotherapy, had a hair cut, chiropody and his daily paper. The food was really good too, he said. He was happy there. Unfortunately he was readmitted to hospital early December and passed away.
The staff are all pleasant, take time to talk to visitors and resident alike.
There is a feeling of kindness that runs throughout the home.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
From the moment my brother & I visited Garth house last September, we knew it was the right place for our lovely mum. The building doesn't feel clinical, which we feel is important & her room is always clean with fresh linen. The staff welcome you at the front door and always say hello and are
helpful.
My mum has a rare progressive neurological illness and she now needs a lot of help but she has been encouraged to join in activities & it's been so lovely to see her up out of bed, dressed and smiling. She really enjoys the music sessions & I love the fact that they come and tell you how her day has been. Having such an illness has robbed her of so much but it's such a relief to know that she is well cared for & that the nurses are there to help with medical issues and the local gp is on hand if needed.
The management team are always friendly, easy to talk to & they address any issues or requests you may have quickly. They have enabled us as a family, to now enjoy quality time with mum.

We are extremely happy with the care provided for my dad, John.
The staff are all so friendly, welcoming, considerate and respectful. When I visit dad, they always take the time to update me on how he has been, in addition to always calling me if there is even the slightest change or concern. He has
had to have a few hospital visits during his stay and the staff have always acted very quickly in these circumstances and kept me informed.
The home itself is lovely and the activities co-ordinator takes great pride in the events and daily activities that are organised. There is a lovely mix of outside entertainment coming in as well as in-house...I particularly enjoy visiting dad when the guitarist comes and I love seeing all the photos of happy (and now familiar) residents in the monthly newsletter.
Whenever one of the staff interact with dad, his eyes light up and a huge smile spreads across his face. That's all I need to see in order to know that he is settled, content and cared for.
Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Garth HouseWhat a wonderful review, thank you! Your kind words really mean a lot to the team, and stories like your dad's are why many of the team work in this sector. It is a privilege to be able to care for him, and we are delighted with how quickly he, and your family, became part of life at Garth House. As long as he is happy, we're happy!

Staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. He had to move from another care home before Christmas and I was concerned that he would not respond well to this upheaval. He appears however to have settled in pretty seamlessly. He apparently enjoys the arranged activities. Still relatively early
days but I am very pleased with his treatment thus far. Thank you.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Garth HouseThank you for sharing your experience. We're pleased to hear that he has settled in well following the move and is enjoying the activities on offer. Your reassurance and confidence in the care provided, especially during what can be a challenging transition, are greatly appreciated.

My mother has been a resident for the past 7 months. This was her first Christmas not in her own home. Garth House laid on a wonderful selection of Christmas entertainment on top of their normal program. All the hall ways and communal rooms were festooned in Christmas lights and tinsel. A festive tree
was decorated in the main entrance hall with wrapped parcels below.

Mum has taken to spending more time in her room but every effort was made to encourage her to join in. We were allowed to decorate mums room to make it more festive.
The staff are always busy but remain cheerful and go out of their way to socialise with the residents and treat them with respect.
Christmas Day mum joined in and had a marvellous meal with the other residents. The tables were laid with Christmas cloths and each person had a cracker and present to open. It was a marvellous day which mum enjoyed.

My family can't thank all the staff enough for making mums Christmas so special.

Thank you

Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Garth HouseThank you for sharing your experiences of Garth House. We understand that sometimes these big occasions can be difficult at first for residents and their families, especially where there have been longstanding traditions, but we're glad everyone was able to enjoy Christmas this year. It's a pleasure to have your mother with us, and if there is ever anything more we can do for her, please just let us know.
