Galsworthy House Nursing Home

Mum has been at Galsworthy House for just over a year now. During this time the team have been amazing with her - she has good spells and some bad ones and they have looked after her through it all with so much care, compassion and kindness. The team (every single one of them) are an absolute delight,
nothing is too much trouble. The communication to me when mum had a fall (twice) from Robert and Linda was excellent and Andrea (Clinical lead) has been an absolute rock.
I looked at quite a few homes before settling on Galsworthy House for mum, but I am very happy with her being there and have full confidence in them taking care of my mum.

Here, visitors are made welcome and valued in their support of the resident. We notice that people are smiling when we come into the home, and we were particularly impressed and touched by the staff coming into Mary's room to sing Happy Birthday on her 80th. They also laid on a delicious buffet tea
for the guests. Many seem happy in this home and appreciate the cheerful members of staff who pop into her room to care for her or have a chat.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Hamilton Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to write a review. Bourne House

from R C (Friend of Resident) published on 3 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife and I have known the resident for over 55 years - he was one of her university friends. He moved into Bourne House after a mental health crisis arising from a combination of long untreated schizophrenia and more recent Alzheimer's. For the first time in his life, the illness is being properly
medicated. This and the loving care with which he is treated at BH has resulted in the appearance of a side to his personality which I have never seen before. He now asks me how I am, how did I get on fixing the car and so on. His relationship with his long-term partner when she visits has also improved back to how it was 20 or 30 years ago. For this I am beyond grateful to the staff and management at BH. They are always friendly and welcoming when we visit, and clearly treat the place as the residents' home rather than just a workplace - as the motto in the hallway proclaims. The vibe of a place like this always comes down from the top and it's a genuine tribute to their manager.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Bourne HouseThank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. It's wonderful to hear how much your friend has benefited from the care and support at Bourne House, and how this has helped parts of his personality return after many years. Your kind words about the atmosphere, the team and the leadership are greatly appreciated.

My aunt was transferred from a 7 week hospital stay for end of life care at Galsworthy House.
A beautiful building both inside & out, her room was calm, comfortable with lovely big windows letting the sunshine in. It was a fitting retreat for her to live out her final days.
The staff were so caring
& respectful for her yet made sure to engage myself & the family in more upbeat conversations. Just what was needed to buoy our spirits in a stressful situation.
We saw the home really well decorated for Halloween, the staff were in fancy dress which added to the fun. Poppy pride was displayed the following week, I'm sure the residents appreciated all the effort that was made.
The newsletter detailed many more daily events, interesting activities for the residents is obviously high on the list of priorities at Galsworthy.
I'm very pleased we had the opportunity for auntie to be looked after by people who go the extra mile. Well done & thank you to all the staff. :)))

I was so impressed by my friend Roger's peace of mind when I recently visited him that I went into the manager's office before leaving. I spoke to Ben and told him that when I had asked Roger how he felt in the home he said that he felt 'safe'. It is a wonderful thing when an older vulnerable person
feels secure and comfortable and well looked after.
Thank you Bourne House team, I am always impressed by the kindness and professional care that you give Roger, whenever I come in and see him. This is clearly how you are all the time.
Kind Regards, Anthony.

Hi there, to all views of acacia care home, I am the son of Josefina and I would just like to say since my mother has been at this care home. She has responded very very well before she went into the care home. She was not responding to anyone talking or engaging with everyone, but since she has been
there, she has been talking. She has a smile on her face. She's very relaxed and as far as I'm concerned, she's looking much more better and more. Healthier and now she's engaging in activities and exercise which is much better for her health and well-being. She seems to enjoy everything there and the staff are very friendly with her and make her feel comfortable and being more like at home. I rate this a five star rating and review for this care home. It seems to me that the staff care for their patients there and I'm very friendly with them and every time I go to see my mother they welcome me. So yes this is A very calming and welcoming care home. I'll leave a five star rating
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Acacia Care CentreThank you so much for your heartfelt review and for sharing your mother's wonderful progress since joining Acacia Care Centre. Belmont House Nursing Home

My mother became a resident at Belmont House as it was deemed for her to be no longer safe at home due to risk of falls. My mother was initialy very resistant to the idea of a care home but now has become much calmer & relaxed & not asking to go home daily. The staff are all amazing & cannot do enough
to assist with the transitioning of a loved one to Belmont House. I feel happy when I leave my mother that she is in a safe environment being cared for to such a high standard of care.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Belmont House Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your experience. We're so pleased to hear that your mother has settled well at Belmont House and that you feel reassured by the care and support she's receiving. Transitions can be challenging, and it's wonderful to know our team's efforts have helped her feel calmer and more at ease. Your kind words about the staff mean a great deal, and we'll make sure they're shared with everyone involved in her care.

This was my wife's second visit to Galsworthy House, and again, she loved it. She thinks all the staff are so lovely, all the tea and cakes are wonderfull, and would be quite happy to stay there for much longer. Since returning home, she likes to remind me how she used to get soup, and a main meal,
and pudding too! I can't compete !
Reply from Nicole Howarth, on behalf of the team at Galsworthy House Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're happy to hear that your wife received such great care at Galsworthy House during her second respite stay, and that our team, along with the tea, cakes, and meals, made such a positive impression! It's wonderful to know she felt so comfortable and well looked after. It was a pleasure to support your wife during her stay, and she'll always be welcome back if she ever needs our help again. I will pass on your kind comments to the whole team.
