Cannot fault the care, hygiene or anything else with Belmont House. The staff are fantastic. Friendly and efficient.
Mum says the food is generally very good and there is activities on daily to keep residents entertained. Regular pop ins from the staff if that's what the resident wants.
Communal
dining rooms are well kept And well used, a Lovely private dining area for residents and families to use. Fantastic hairdressing facility, with hairdressers coming in weekly, although personal hairdressers are welcome with the right insurances.
Cinema room is a lovely touch too with a large array of DVDs to watch.
All round fabulous home

My husband (78 years old) has advanced dementia and is physically frail, he came to Albany Lodge after a months stay in hospital. I was impressed straight away by the friendly relaxed atmosphere and the positive attitude of the manager and staff. His room is spacious and clean and he is kept clean and
tidy. I go in most days to help feed him at lunchtime and the food is imaginative, of good quality and cooked on the premises. He is not left in bed all the time, but is included in activities which he seems to enjoy watching even if he is unable to participate. Overall, I feel I have made the right decision to chose Albany Lodge.

Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, On behalf of the team at Albany Lodge Nursing Home

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful reflections on your experience with Albany Lodge. We're so pleased to hear that the warm atmosphere, compassionate team, and personalised approach to your husband's care have helped you feel reassured in your decision. It's lovely to know he's comfortable, well cared for, and gently included in daily life at the home. We understand how important these moments are, and we're grateful for your trust.

Galsworthy House Nursing Home

from G T (Respite Resident) published on 5 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

We placed our mother into Galsworthy House Kingston for a weeks respite. We phoned nearly everyday to check on her welfare and the staff were pleasant and updated us on our mother's health and the activities she had participated in. On collecting her from Galsworthy House Kingston, she looked happy
and stated that everyone (staff and residents) were in her own words; 'lovely'. I would recommend labelling personal items or taking images, as on leaving we found clothing packed into our mother's suitcase that did not belong to her.

Reply from Nicole Howarth, on behalf of the team at Galsworthy House Nursing Home

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're delighted your mother had a great experience and felt happy during her stay with us at Galsworthy House. It's also great to hear that you felt supported and well-informed throughout her stay, something we do pride ourselves on doing. Thank you for highlighting the issue with the clothing, we are sorry to hear about the mix-up but we will pass this on to the team to look into. We would be delighted to welcome your mother back again should she require further support in the future. I will pass on your kind comments to the whole team.

We've always had excellent experiences at Cedar View, where my mother has lived for the past three years. The House manager, in particular, has consistently gone above and beyond - supporting my mum, guiding me through the challenges of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's, and always offering a
kind word when things get overwhelming. I truly couldn't ask for better care for Mum. The entire staff is incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure mum's needs are met - even when it's not easy, as she can be quite a challenge at times. I can't say enough goo things about our experience at Cedar View.

Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, On behalf of the team at Cedar View Care Centre

Thank you for such a thoughtful and generous review of Cedar View. We're so pleased to hear how well supported both you and your mum have felt over the past three years. Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's brings many challenges, and it means a great deal to know that the team-and the manager in particular-have made a genuine difference during those moments. Every time I visit my brother in law we are greeted very warmly. He is obviously well cared for and all his complex medical needs are managed expertly. Southborough Nursing Home

from Tiffany A (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Dad spent the last months of his life at Southborough after an initial failed previous placement at another home. We are so grateful that he was there. The staff treated him and us as special and they were all so kind, compassionate, approachable, communicative. He was always clean and well presented
even though his dementia behaviour must have made this difficult. His room was always clean too.
We have such fond memories of Southborough even though Dad passed away there - he could not have been at a better more supportive home. The events coordinator made such an effort for him, and all staff looked after him so well. His palliative care was so careful and considerate and thorough. Thank you all so much - you can't underestimate how important it is that families can look back on this experience when loved ones pass away - your job is SO important and makes such a huge difference I hope you know that.

Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, On behalf of the team at Southborough Nursing Home

Thank you for sharing such a moving and heartfelt tribute to your dad's time at Southborough. It's incredibly touching to know he was made to feel cared for, respected and supported in his final months, and that your family felt the same warmth and compassion. My father broke his leg and we needed to find respite care for him quickly. Having visited another care home we found the team at Galsworthy to be very kind, helpful and responsive, giving him a choice of rooms and accommodating his needs as quickly as they could.
I have so much respect for the entire
team at Galsworthy, for their warmth, patience and humour in what is clearly a complex and demanding job.
I was very moved that so many of the team came to wish my Dad a happy birthday and presented him with a beautiful cake before he left. We always felt welcome and they have been a big support to my sister and I in what has been a difficult time.

Thank you for your lovely comments. We're delighted to hear that you feel your dad received such great care at Galsworthy House. He is one of life's true gentlemen and it was a genuine pleasure to support him. All of the team felt this way about your dad, which is why they wanted to come together to make his birthday extra special. Providing exceptional care and support is at the heart of everything we do, so your kind recognition of the team means a great deal. Your wonderful comments have been passed on to the team, who will be delighted to hear your feedback. You, your sister and dad are always welcome to pop in to say hi and grab a coffee and a bite to eat. We wish him the very best.
