Spencer Court

from R T (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 17 February 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife and I visit Spencer Court every week, and we really feel there is a strong sense of community between the residents, staff and visitors. All staff play their part in making Spencer Court a welcoming place, and my mother-in-law is well looked after. We always have a laugh with the staff, even
though they are clearly busy, and this contributes to making each visit a positive experience. I have visited a few other care homes, seeing other relatives, but Spencer Court is by far the best. Is Spencer Court perfect? No, but they listen to visitors' concerns and take time to explain their procedures or work with residents and their family to improve the experience. If I ever end up in a care home, I would want it to be Spencer Court.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at Spencer CourtThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We're really pleased to hear that you feel such a strong sense of community at Spencer Court and that your mother-in-law is well cared for.
Your comments about the team's warmth, openness and willingness to listen mean a great deal to us, and we'll be sure to share them with everyone. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review - this has truly made our day.

Hayward Care Centre

from Ann T (Resident) published on 17 February 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
This is a very friendly home & I can do the things I would like to do and not feel forced. I must admit I like being prompted and try to be on time first thing in the morning. It was Monday morning, and we all scrambled down to the bottom floor. It was a bit crowded, and carers came through to spend
a few moments in the lovely garden. Perhaps when it's sunnier we can work out in the garden. Everybody very friendly.
Reply from Harry Marsh, On behalf of the team at Hayward Care CentreThank you for sharing your lovely feedback. We're so pleased to hear that you feel Hayward Care Centre is a friendly home where you can enjoy doing the things you like, without ever feeling pressured. Supporting independence while offering gentle encouragement is very important to us, so it's wonderful to know you appreciate the prompts in the morning too. It's also great to hear you're enjoying time in the garden, we're certainly looking forward to making the most of it when the sunnier weather arrives! Thank you again for your kind words, they mean a great deal to the whole team.

My mother has only recently moved into Meadow Croft and has settled in remarkable quickly. She has enjoyed joining him with the activities - something she never did when she was living along and has not made new friendships already. She is very well cared for by the lovely staff which is such a relief

I feel mum is very well looked after and on the whole in clothing coordinate which in the past would have mattered to her. I think perhaps more activities would be good than I do realise it might be hard to get residents in Pearl to cooperate.
Reply from Steve Gardner-Collins, On behalf of the team at Coombe End CourtThank you for sharing your feedback. We're delighted to hear that your mum is well cared for and that her clothing is coordinated, we know how important those details can be. We also appreciate your suggestion regarding activities. We continually strive to offer engaging experiences for all our residents, and we understand that participation can vary depending on individual preferences and abilities. Your feedback is very helpful as we look at ways to enhance activity options in Pearl, ensuring they are enjoyable and accessible for everyone. choice for food, which is well cooked and plentiful. His room is kept clean and I appreciate the excellent laundry service.

My main concern is that my mum is happy, and that certainly seems to be the care. I was worried that she might not settle at Stirlings, but she really seems to be enjoying herself. She is mixing with people far more than before, and taking part in all the activities. Her room is clean when I visit and

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We live locally so had heard on the Village grapevine that The Heights had a great reputation. But when my 99 year old Mum had to be admitted to respite care at short notice we got the opportunity to judge for ourselves. And even though are expectations were high they have been exceeded. We have been
bowled over by the standard of loving care that my dear Mum is receiving. ALL the staff without exception are happy, smiley, caring, just lovely people. The Manager, Emma, runs such a grand operation, supported superbly by Gemma. Gemma must be the best ambassador for any Care Home in the world. The entertainment team of Junior, Queen & Tina are also exceptional - infectious fun, delivered with such loving care. And the Nursing, Catering & Cleaning Team are all also delightful. Everyone gets on with everything & the whole place feels just so wonderfully warm & welcoming. I cannot praise the care more highly than.& absolutely wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Heights to anyone - thank you!
