Generally the overall care is good. There are instances where cleanliness and hygiene can be questioned along with a lack of initiative on behalf of a small number of carers. Respect for personal items is somewhat inconsistent. The staff are a very friendly group and turnover is low, this is generally good for continuity. They foster and maintain a good relationship with mum and she often says "i don't know what I'd do without them" which is lovely as mum appreciates their care. On the whole, Mum is now quite content to consider Highfield her home. I would recommend this facility to others.

My daughter, son and myself, have been so happy that John is now in a care home which actually lives up to the name of care and I want to thank everyone from kitchen staff who cooks his full English breakfast every morning to the cleaners and the carers who do such a good job of caring for him

The activities for residents are brilliant. Dad had very little interaction at his last care home and since becoming a resident at Highfield, he's really come to life. The change is amazing. The staff are fantastic and really care. They engage with the residents and do a phenomenal job. The office team are super friendly and informative and always go above and beyond to help.

First class care

The nursing side is impeccably run with all medications administered exactly on time and any concerns are acted on straight the way. I have every confidence in Highfields to give Mum the exact care she needs and beyond. The staff worked hard to help mum adjust to care home life and it is lovely for her family to visit and spend quality time with her without having to tend to her needs. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Highfields to care for a family's loved one

My sister has been at Highfields for a few years now. She is incredibly well looked after. I am forever impressed with all the folk who support her. It always seems like a safe and secure location. They are always kind to me too.

I acknowledge and give thanks for the ongoing commitment of staff at Highfields for the care and attention given to my mother in law and also for the excellent communication to keep us promptly informed of any issues arising with mother in law's needs. All the staff are very friendly, approachable and welcoming during our frequent visits.

Mum has been at Highfield for some time now and enjoys being there. She is bedridden and so requires considerable assistance with even the most simple of tasks. The team at Highfield, led by Aaron, are kind, considerate, thoughtful and professional. She enjoys her food and the selection at Highfield is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for people there and everyone makes an effort to get Mum engaged and motivated. She enjoys the little trips out to local places and loves the fact she has a garden right next to her to enjoy, she watches the squirrels and birds and it's lovely to have the sun on her face occasionally. I'd highly recommend Highfield, if you are looking for a caring home, with excellent staff and good facilities, this is for you.

My mum has been in the home for almost a year now. Every single staff member has been so lovely, making this transition easier for us as a family. I can rest a little more, knowing mum is being looked after 24/7 and has friendly faces popping in throughout the day / night to say hello and check she's alright

I feel that the standard of care for residents of Highfield Care Home is very high. All of the staff are considerate, kind, helpful and friendly. I am very happy with how well my mother is being looked after.

Staff are always welcoming and friendly which helps enormously, all queries or concerns have been addressed appropriately.

No care home (or any other organisation) is perfect, but I know that my mother is safe and happy and that is very reassuring. I'd recommend Highfield.

Generally very happy with the care my mother receives. The food is not always soft enough for elderly residents and there are issues with her being able to feed herself when in bed and the tray is not positioned so that she can reach her food. When peas etc are served it would be easier to be given a spoon otherwise they are left on the plate. When put to bed for her afternoon rest I've noticed that frequently there isn't a drink within reach and, as getting her to drink is an issue, this doesn't help improve her fluid intake. My mother does struggle with hearing but she can read so it would help communication if the carers could use a white board or something else when she's just not understanding what is being said to her.

My mother has now been at Highfields for nearly 6 months. The level of care and support she receives is excellent. Staff are always able to answer concerns, particularly around eating and my mother's mood. Management have been so empathetic with me over the sad loss of my brother. I feel truly 'held' in every way at Highfields. Because of that, I can devote and create special memories with my mom and enjoy our time together. Thank you for all you do.

My husband has been a resident of Highfield Care Home for two years and he is well cared for. The staff are very kind and patient. I visit regularly and he is always comfortable and I always feel welcome

The staff not only show care to my Dad and the other residents but also offer support to me at times if I require it as do they other resident's families. Ali in the office is also always happy to help with any administration questions, queries or generally.

My sister has been a resident of Highfields for the past 2 years . She is in a wheelchair has learning difficulties and dementia. She is virtually non verbal due to her worsening condition so is unable to articulate how good or bad her care is but knowing her as I do and visiting her on a regular basis i believe she is well treated by the staff who in my experience are kind and caring despite the challenging conditions they face when working with residents who have advanced dementia. The home itself always appears clean and tidy and communication from the management has improved a lot over the past year.
