Mum left Pinewood Residential Home in Jersey in May 2026 after having 2 hip replacements and was there 14 months. The care and support, not only to mum but also her family that visited her, was second to none. The staff were all very caring and showed real love and dignity towards mum who regularly had a good giggle with them. It was really home from home and having peace of mind that mum was being well cared for and treated with respect and love was very important to her family. She has said, should she ever require their services in the future, she would love to return to Pinewood as her very first option. Its also shown her that they are still encouraged to use their brains in all the daily activities that are laid on for the residents on a daily basis so she was never bored, but at the same time, should she wanted quiet time in their room, the staff respected her decision.

Thank you so much Pinewood from the whole family for looking after mum so well :)

Overall Experience

I came here for respite initially for 1 week but had to extend my stay for three weeks. I have had excellent care. Only complaint is that sometimes my food was cold and given different to what I requested. This only happened a couple of times. The food was very good.

Overall Experience
Mum settled in to Pinewood very quickly and finds all the staff extremely helpful and understanding, as well as very efficient. At times, there has been a shortage of staff, but they all stay focused and ready to help.
The food is excellent, and good to know there is flexibility there.
Rooms are kept clean and tidy.
All in all, she is happy.

One complaint, though. The windows are very badly fitted, making it very windy. Seals need replacing.

Overall Experience

I have been staying in Pinewood for respite and they have been excellent. All of the staff are caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. I certainly feel better for my stay, I would recommend it to anyone.

A two week stay at Pinewood was just what I needed to help me recover from a knee replacement operation.

I live alone in a house with stairs so felt ready to face that after being so well looked after, with a nutritious diet and encouragement to carry out the exercises required for recovery.

Pinewood is always a friendly, welcoming home to visit. All staff are extremely helpful, willing to offer advice. Gatherings are perfectly organised and enjoyed by residents and guests. My grandmother is well looked after at Pinewood. The carers are very kind and helpful and Granny feels safe. She loves it here and we love the staff. The entertainment for my Granny is fantastic. The afternoon tea party was so wonderful.

Dad has been in Pinewood since March this year. He was impressed by the home and the staff on the day he came to view.

The staff cannot be kinder, nothing is too much trouble and I no longer have no worry that Dad is on his own. Thank you everyone.

I have been a resident here for 2 months. On respite with a broken leg. I have found it very pleasant, food good 99% staff delightful. Do not like toilet in room with just a net curtain, not private enough. Staff come in the door and curtain blown up. Gardens could do with a good makeover.

Overall Experience

Mum has been at Pinewood for the past two years and in that time she has had such wonderful care from all of the staff. We are extremely grateful for the dedicated staff ensuring Mum is in a safe and comfortable place. There are weekly visits from a hairdresser which all ladies love, hopefully when there are long periods of absence due to holiday these could be covered in the future. Overall we are delighted with the services provided and heartfelt thanks to everyone.

Pinewood is a welcoming and pleasant residential facility with friendly and caring staff and management. The main issue with the facility is that it's dated and tired and could do with a major freshen-up. Whilst centrally located, parking can be a major issue but appears to have improved recently.

My father is a resident as he was too much for me at home. The carers and all the staff are magnificent and so genuinely caring. Dad is very happy and I think this has been really good for him and he's met lots of new friends.
