I have always found the home very homely and welcoming. The care staff at Woodlands are all very caring and take great care of my mother. My mother is very happy being at the home. There will always be ways to improve but overall its a great care home.

My father had a stroke and could no longer live alone. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in moving his bed against the wall and putting down a second mattress on the floor, and further crash mats in the room as he rolls himself out of bed and onto the floor in the night. I feel confident that
he is checked regularly. He is always smartly dressed, and his hair is brushed and washed. The staff all seem to know his likes and dislikes.
Reply from Claire Royal, Home Manager at Woodland Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words and are grateful for the trust you've placed in us to care for your father. Your support means a great deal to our whole team.

I feel that the standards have fallen over the last six months. I have the highest praise for all the staff and find their dedication exceptional. I attend Hawthorns daily & notice staff shortages on a regular basis I have been told the ratio of staff & residents is correct, unfortunately sickness,
holidays and training don't understand ratios. Certain times of the day, they are constantly firefighting. Recently the situation has got worse as there is now only 1 toilet downstairs, the other is used for storage. My 2nd complaint is there is a beautiful conservatory waiting for a new roof and it is still the same since January, which means the only place to sit is the lounge. There is no quiet room for residents and relatives to talk and read. Also part of the conservatory could be used for storage.
Reply from Eva Trochim, Regional Director at The HawthornsThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words about our staff and their dedication.
We are sorry to hear about your concerns. Following your comments, we have carried out a full review of our staffing levels and can confirm that our home has not been operating short of our required ratios. However, we understand that the day-to-day experience is just as important, and we are always committed to ensuring residents and their families feel supported and reassured.
If you would like to discuss your feedback in more detail, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly. Please do feel free to get in touch at your convenience.

Woodlands is mums new and forever home. Mum wasn't coping at home but we didn't think she would settle in a care home. Initially in Woodlands for respite, every single staff member are amazing. They treat mum with the greatest dignity and respect. They genuinely care. I hope this is mums forever home.
I am 100% confident the care they provide is second to none, I no longer have to worry - 10/10 and more.

My husband has been a resident at Hawthorns for 3 1/2 months. It is a small carehome with a friendly atmosphere. The staff are helpful and kind attending to R's considerable needs with patience and respect. Hawthorns is an old house and a little shabby but always clean and homely. Activities provided
are numerous but unfortunately R is reluctant to participate, hopefully this may change with encouragement. Meals are adequate though more fruit and vegetables would be appreciated. Overall Hawthorns provides a secure and caring environment with a friendly atmosphere - it is truly a home and not an institution.

I cannot rate the team at Hawthorns highly enough! From the lovely staff on reception through to the support maintenance staff and the carers, chefs and nurses, everyone take the time to genuinely engage with residents, visitors and relatives. I recently visited with my family from Australia and it
was very emotional seeing my mum unable to walk and in aged care for the first time. The staff made us so welcome and always go over and above to truly care and love the people in their care. The food is freshly cooked and everyday there are amazing homemade cakes!

The center is excellently managed and you can tell the team works really well together in what is a highly stressful industry. I leave feeling very reassured and grateful that my mother is in such good hands. The combination of caring and expert nursing care is also very good, and they always make my Dad so welcome as he visits daily and stays a long time. There is a great range of of activities on a daily basis too!

Reply from Daisy Mendoza, Home Manager at The HawthornsThank you for your incredible review. The care and services we provide to your mum and dad are our passion, and receiving feedback like yours is both uplifting and inspiring. Your kind words truly motivate us. The quality of care and the warmth of our community are essential, and we proudly embrace your mum and dad as part of our extended family. I will share your feedback with the entire team. Thank you once again for your inspiring review.

My sister has been in Dussindale Park for the past 9 years
she is very well cared for and I have had very few complaints over the years
She is kept very clean and her room is always clean no nasty smells. The staff are
always very friendly and take care of her very well. The management team are
all
very helpful especially the manager and one other lady. Nursing staff also extreamly helpful and keep me updated with my sisters health. This home is very well run and if I do have any complaints they are dealt with very Quickly. I am very pleased I chose this home for my sister as her care is very good and all her needs are dealt with and they make her comfortable as she is totally reliant on them. Thank you to everyone at Dussindale

During her 80-day hospital stay, I was informed that given my wife's needs, I would not be able to care for her at home, and having experienced during the past 3 months, Dussindale's (the Dale) provided professional and personal care and attention, and the specialist knowledge and facilities, I can
now say that the right decision was made - for her Care to be at the Dale.
The facilities are very good, (personalised room, bathrooms, restaurant, lounges - all clean and fresh), then there are the daily activities, to never ending 'on demand' drinks and freshly prepared foods, and of course, there is continual over-arching nursing attention.
It is the Dale Team that makes it work - it's a 'can do' attitude, making my wife comfortable in all respects. Quite simply, they know what they are doing, what to do, when to do it - and do it all with care, patience, and a smile!
I am certain the manager will always make sure it remains '5 star' for her residents - thank you to all!!
