My aunt, who was a 100 years old, was only here for seven weeks before she passed. But in her last few weeks, she could not have received better care from every member of the staff who cared for her. They took time to chat and get to know her and treated her so well. It made a very difficult time easier
for the whole family, especially my uncle, who was so pleased with the care she received. Once again, thank you from all our family.

My husband was resident @ Dussingdale for 4 weeks until his death on 19/4/26. From the start when myself and daughter were shown around the home until Graeme's death I have nothing but the manager, every single person treated Graeme and my family with the utmost respect and kindness. All staff were
warm, welcoming, friendly and fully aware of Graeme's prognosis and care requirements. As a family we felt fully included in planning his end of life care. The home environment is maintained to a high standard, good personal care for residents is priority as is the cleanliness of individual rooms. During an incredibly difficult time for my family I would rate this home as 5 star!
Reply from Adina Radu, Home Manager at Dussindale Park Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review of Dussindale Park.
We are delighted that you had such a positive experience with our home. Our team works incredibly hard to provide a safe, comfortable, and caring environment for all our residents, and it is very rewarding to know that this has been recognised.
Your feedback will be shared with the whole team, as it encourages us to continue delivering the highest standards of care each day.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience-it is greatly appreciated.

Our mother was transferred from Hospital to Woodland nursing home for palliative care, from the moment you walk through the door your mind is put at ease, this is a home which provides exceptional nursing care. The staff are so warm and friendly and so very very kind. This is throughout the home, the
reception, the carers, the nurses, the kitchen and laundry. Everyone offers a tender touch, and are very much focused around patient centre care. Professional, empathy and outstanding are three words that I would describe the team. The home is spotless but homely and you are made to feel welcome and part of their family. My mums wishes were respected throughout and she was always cared with the utmost of dignity.
We could not have wished for a nicer home for our Mum to spend her final days.
Thank you.
Reply from Claire Royal, Home Manager at Woodland Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write this lovely review of Woodland, especially at such a difficult time for your family.
It was an honour to be able to care for your Mum in her final days. Even though she wasn't with us very long, she is definitely a lady we will remember fondly.
The team work hard to provide the best possible care to those that live with us and their families, and they will be heartened to hear your kind words of support.

Outstanding care with lovely staff who communicated clearly and consistently. Medication was administered safely with no issues. Staff were lovely and always went the extra mile to support mum and make sure she was happy and had everything she needed. They encouraged her to leave her room and participate
with activities. They catered for her dietary needs and made her feel safe and listened to. Mum wants to go back as a day visitor as she enjoyed the activities. Fully recommend

My father had been a resident of Hawthorns for almost 10 years before his recent passing.
It's a very painful process putting your loved one's into a care home setting and naturally you want the very best for them. Sometimes the all singing and all dancing settings do not always show the empathy, care
and compassion that the staff give 100% daily. Hawthorns is this care home that gives, hourly, daily , yearly and so on.
If I could give Hawthorns a gold award for their care of my father over these years I would do so one hundred times over.
My heart grieves not only for my lovely dad but also for not seeing the staff who have been like family to me. I have always received empathy, countless cups of teas and many hugs.
Thank you Hawthorns for holding my Dads hand every single day.
Reply from Diana Andrei, Quality Support Partner at The HawthornsThank you so much for your beautiful and heartfelt words. We really appreciate that you took the time to share your experience. Is was an absolute privilege to care for your dad over the years -he was a very special part of our Hawthorns family. And we will always remember him fondly. Please remember that you are always welcome to come and visit us anytime and catch up with the team who cared so much about you and your dad. Sending you our warmest wishes, and thank you again for your kindness and trust.

My father had a stroke and could no longer live alone. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in moving his bed against the wall and putting down a second mattress on the floor, and further crash mats in the room as he rolls himself out of bed and onto the floor in the night. I feel confident that
he is checked regularly. He is always smartly dressed, and his hair is brushed and washed. The staff all seem to know his likes and dislikes.

I feel that the standards have fallen over the last six months. I have the highest praise for all the staff and find their dedication exceptional. I attend Hawthorns daily & notice staff shortages on a regular basis I have been told the ratio of staff & residents is correct, unfortunately sickness,
holidays and training don't understand ratios. Certain times of the day, they are constantly firefighting. Recently the situation has got worse as there is now only 1 toilet downstairs, the other is used for storage. My 2nd complaint is there is a beautiful conservatory waiting for a new roof and it is still the same since January, which means the only place to sit is the lounge. There is no quiet room for residents and relatives to talk and read. Also part of the conservatory could be used for storage.
Reply from Eva Trochim, Regional Director at The HawthornsThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words about our staff and their dedication.
We are sorry to hear about your concerns. Following your comments, we have carried out a full review of our staffing levels and can confirm that our home has not been operating short of our required ratios. However, we understand that the day-to-day experience is just as important, and we are always committed to ensuring residents and their families feel supported and reassured.
If you would like to discuss your feedback in more detail, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly. Please do feel free to get in touch at your convenience.

Woodlands is mums new and forever home. Mum wasn't coping at home but we didn't think she would settle in a care home. Initially in Woodlands for respite, every single staff member are amazing. They treat mum with the greatest dignity and respect. They genuinely care. I hope this is mums forever home.
I am 100% confident the care they provide is second to none, I no longer have to worry - 10/10 and more.

My husband has been a resident at Hawthorns for 3 1/2 months. It is a small carehome with a friendly atmosphere. The staff are helpful and kind attending to R's considerable needs with patience and respect. Hawthorns is an old house and a little shabby but always clean and homely. Activities provided
are numerous but unfortunately R is reluctant to participate, hopefully this may change with encouragement. Meals are adequate though more fruit and vegetables would be appreciated. Overall Hawthorns provides a secure and caring environment with a friendly atmosphere - it is truly a home and not an institution.
