My dad moved into Manor Park Care Home in October 2025. I am really pleased he has settled in well. He is clean and well cared for he is also really comfortable. The staff are all really friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. They decorated the spare room space for his birthday in
November, and baked cakes and buns for all the family which was a lovely touch. If ever there are any concerns, if you speak with the manager she sees to things right away. I'm so glad I chose Manor Park it feel homely and welcoming.

I am happy with the care shown and given to my husband who is non verbal, bed bound and suffering from dementia. The staff are very approachable should any problem arise. I feel confident in nursing care provided, and that I will be informed immediately of any change in my husband's medical condition.
The pleasant staff make for a family atmosphere and a lot of hard work went in to making Christmas a special time for residents.

My mother has been a resident on Blue Bell Ward since July 2024.
My mother has advanced dementia and has growing needs.
When my mother first moved in, the place appeared to suit my mother's needs.
It was quickly apparent the home was failing to meet basic needs for my mother and other residents
too.
She was loosing weight and her general appearance was not good.
I also feel her emotional needs we also not met.
All our concerns were presented in a professional manner and escalated upwards as and when required.
Problems continued and management / nurses were inept and changed on numerous occasions.
Social services and CQC became involved and many concerns were raised.
From my perspective the blue bell ward upstairs was a forgotten area.
After numerous meeting and change of management and staff the home now appears to have turned a corner.
Things are running much better and there is a positive atmosphere
Please keep it up for everyone's sake.
Thankyou.

We were very lucky to secure a place at Howgate Care Home in Idle.
Dad was welcomed into Howgate Care Home in May 2023 following a massive stroke. It was a difficult time for Dad and the family as we all adjusted to him moving from regular independent life to a care home.
The administration team
and management helped us navigate the process and provided endless support.
The care staff are absolutely amazing, they cared for Dad like he was one of their own family. He was encouraged to retain some independence. They genuinely cared for his physical and mental health.
They recognised when he was home sick or his mood was low and made time to chat, making him feel like 'somebody' when he felt like a 'nobody'.
Staff encouraged him to take part in some of the numerous activities available, when he was reluctant they brought the activities to him.
During his time in Howgate he was always treated with the upmost respect and dignity.
We would absolutely recommend this care home.
Reply from Paulina Drzewiecka, Home Manager at Howgate House Care HomeThank you so much from all of us at Howgate House for such a lovely review regarding your dad's care, which he experienced here. It was a privilege to be able to know your dad and look after him as well as we all could.

Mum became a resident in July 2024 and from that time was looked after with respect and dignity. Mum sadly passed in September 2025, and for all that year, the care she received was excellent, with many of the staff often going the extra mile. In the last couple of months of her time, Mum, myself, and
my wife were looked after with care and compassion.
Reply from Paulette Taylor, Home Manager at Manor Park Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words. It was our privilege to care for your mum throughout her time with us. Once he moved into the staff have been nothing but kind and caring not just to dad but also all our family. The nurses and cares work extremely hard but despite them being so busy have always
have time, patience and kindness. We have been very happy with the care dad has received at Willow Bank Nursing Home and would like to thank all the staff or their kindness and dedication.

Friendly staff, always happy to answer any questions we may have regarding my father's care. Sometimes can be a wait to access building but it's understandable that staff can be busy when visiting at weekends and if office door is closed. Not usually an issue during the week. Father is happy and settled.

~Having looked at 2 other homes, I picked up on Howgate's sense of homeliness, which was not apparent at others. We were very pleased to find that the staff are caring, dedicated individuals who genuinely enjoy their role, which resulted in a low staff turnover and familiar faces throughout. Fun activities
were put on daily by enthusiastic staff & excellent visiting entertainers, family members encouraged to join in & be part of the community. Staff sorted out any necessary admin without prompting and were always proactive in keeping me updated with mum's progress. I found Howgate a compassionate, caring, professional & homely place and was very pleased with all the staff and the care received by my mum, which is all that we could have hoped for.

Corinthian House Nursing & Care Home

When his money ran out to pay full fees for his previous home, and the only option to keep him there was to pay top-up fees we couldn't afford, we had to move Dad to a no top-up fees home. The whole process was challenging and draining, but finding Corinthian House was a breath of fresh air!
The whole
set-up is head and shoulders above Dad's previous home, which was a quick selection during Covid, when options were limited.
Since moving, Dad has recieved a much better level of care and the family are well informed and kept up to date. Dad is brighter and smarter in appearance and has had the warmest of welcomes. Nothing is too much trouble and visiting is more if a pleasure for us all. We wish we had had the luxury of more choice 4 years ago, as Corinthian House would have won!
We're grateful to everyone there, without exception- a truly wonderful place.
Reply from Nikki Higgins, Home Manager at Corinthian House Nursing & Care HomeThank you for your feedback. It is a pleasure looking after Dad and having the family come into visit. We really do try to make it a home for home, not just for our residents, but for their friends and family too.

My dad was here for 2 weeks respite, 4th-8th August. The initial home visit by the manager went ok. 5 times we had to keep reminding the staff to put denture adhesive in Dad's teeth. The toilet was in a bad state 6 times during Dad's stay. Poo left on wall for over 1x week, stale urine on the toilet
floor. Very poor cleaning. Disappointed.
