The home has been the most accommodating home I have visited. I have had nothing but a positive experience while visiting my granddad. Management have been extremely helpful. The overall quality of the place has also been excellent, and the service the residents we visit is above and beyond. The staff
have been helpful and have been a positive influence on him since he moved in here.

From the moment we first came to look round we felt that staff were genuinely interested in meeting dad's needs. Once he moved into the staff have been nothing but kind and caring not just to dad but also all our family. The nurses and cares work extremely hard but despite them being so busy have always
have time, patience and kindness. We have been very happy with the care dad has received at Willow Bank Nursing Home and would like to thank all the staff or their kindness and dedication.

Friendly staff, always happy to answer any questions we may have regarding my father's care. Sometimes can be a wait to access building but it's understandable that staff can be busy when visiting at weekends and if office door is closed. Not usually an issue during the week. Father is happy and settled.
Reply from Paulette Taylor, Home Manager at Manor Park Care Home

Thank you for your kind feedback. We're so pleased to hear that you've found our staff friendly and happy to help with any questions. We truly value your understanding regarding the occasional wait at the door during weekends. Our care team is often attending to residents' needs, and while we strive to respond promptly, we appreciate your patience and recognition of their dedication.Your comments help us continue improving, and we're grateful for your support.

~Having looked at 2 other homes, I picked up on Howgate's sense of homeliness, which was not apparent at others. We were very pleased to find that the staff are caring, dedicated individuals who genuinely enjoy their role, which resulted in a low staff turnover and familiar faces throughout. Fun activities
were put on daily by enthusiastic staff & excellent visiting entertainers, family members encouraged to join in & be part of the community. Staff sorted out any necessary admin without prompting and were always proactive in keeping me updated with mum's progress. I found Howgate a compassionate, caring, professional & homely place and was very pleased with all the staff and the care received by my mum, which is all that we could have hoped for.
Reply from Paulina Drzewiecka, Home Manager at Howgate House Care Home

Corinthian House Nursing & Care Home

When his money ran out to pay full fees for his previous home, and the only option to keep him there was to pay top-up fees we couldn't afford, we had to move Dad to a no top-up fees home. The whole process was challenging and draining, but finding Corinthian House was a breath of fresh air!
The whole
set-up is head and shoulders above Dad's previous home, which was a quick selection during Covid, when options were limited.
Since moving, Dad has recieved a much better level of care and the family are well informed and kept up to date. Dad is brighter and smarter in appearance and has had the warmest of welcomes. Nothing is too much trouble and visiting is more if a pleasure for us all. We wish we had had the luxury of more choice 4 years ago, as Corinthian House would have won!
We're grateful to everyone there, without exception- a truly wonderful place.
Reply from Nikki Higgins, Home Manager at Corinthian House Nursing & Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. It is a pleasure looking after Dad and having the family come into visit. We really do try to make it a home for home, not just for our residents, but for their friends and family too.

My dad was here for 2 weeks respite, 4th-8th August. The initial home visit by the manager went ok. 5 times we had to keep reminding the staff to put denture adhesive in Dad's teeth. The toilet was in a bad state 6 times during Dad's stay. Poo left on wall for over 1x week, stale urine on the toilet
floor. Very poor cleaning. Disappointed.

My mother became very ill at the start of June. Every step was taken to ensure my mother got the best care possible. Staff and senior carers were professional and assisted with her safe transfer to hospital. Upon returning she has been met with open arms as if she has returned to her family. All staff
have been monitoring to ensure my mum fully recovers. As a family we are extremely grateful to them. We appreciate mum's needs are complex and we will work with her unit to assist in anyway we can.

I would say Corinthian House Nursing & Care Home is a very good environment that offers good care, nursing staff, and care workers.
They try to bring out the best of each resident's character as the entertainment co-ordinator is very good at sorting out very varied entertainment to suit all ages and
abilities. The housekeeping is always of a good standard. Kitchen presentation could do with a little help to improve the presentation of meals. The manager and all staff very good team.

My mum has been at Howgate House for just over a year. We've been please with the care she receives, the team are very friendly and always have a chat with her and keep her spirits up.
She's a private person and despite trying to make sure she has a visitor most days, she does spend a lot of time
in her room which can lead to loneliness , the staff are great at encouraging her to join in the activities.
She needed extra care this year after a fall in her room and we were pleased with the level of care she received whilst practically bed bound. The meals are lovely and always lots of drinks and snacks provided inbetween. She has a big room which we have tried to make as homely as we can with her own bedding, tv, photos and cushions etc. we have peace of mind knowing there is someone available 24 hours if she needs it and you can't put a price on that. We've needed to speak to management on a couple of occasions and they're very obliging and always resolve any issues.
