I have found the care provided for my father in law to be of a very high standard. The manager has been a Godsend in helping us navigate our way through the care system and her kind and friendly manner means she is very approachable. Another lady has been so very much hands on and a great help in so
many areas of my father in laws care. The level of care from the clinical lead is outstanding and the care shown to my father in law is second to none.

I have spend three respite times in Rosedale and each time I have been very comfortable. I found the staff and carers friendly, smiling and very helpful and patient and always checking to see if I was alright. The food was very good with choices. All in all very good.

My husband has been at The Moors for eight months. He has settled very well into the routines and benefits from the consistency of the care they provide. All the staff are kind, caring and respectful, even when faced with the challenging behaviours that can come with dementia. The food is varied and
fresh; he enjoys it and eats well. The home is very clean and well organised with a good range of activities for residents. Everyone working there understands that each resident comes with an entourage. Family members and other visitors (including dogs!) are welcomed with warmth and compassion, and laughter is in plentiful supply. I have found it easy to build mutually respectful, supportive relationships with the staff: they work with us as a family to ensure that my husband is safe and as happy as he can be. The haven they provide is not just for my husband - the whole family benefits - and we are grateful for the work they do.
Reply from Sue Simpkin, Home Manager at The Moors Care Centre

Dear Viv, thank you for lovely review of The Moors, your husband is a delight to manage, I am so glad we are able to be his carers, and you can go back to being his wife and provide the support he requires without being exhausted yourself. Once again thank you for choosing us.

Mum was made very welcome and comfortable during her stay. The care staff and nursing staff were amazing. Always maintaining dignity and promoting choice. Throughout her stay, mum could be difficult however staff always remained patient and understanding. Everyone involved ensured that mum's end of
life was comfortable and dignified, in particular the manager and nursing staff who worked very hard to ensure the medical care was in place and appropriate. Thank you. x

Dad has lived in the dementia unit for almost four years now. He isn't the easiest of residents to deal with but each and every member of staff from the domestics up treat him with care, compassion and respect. The staff are all proficient in reading him, anticipating his needs and when to leave him
in peace. I like that the staff all have their own unique techniques to get the best out of Dad.
Although Dad refuses to participate in any of the entertainment activities within the home there is usually something happening on an almost daily basis.
Reply from Lindsey Harrison, Home Manager at Belmont House

Thank you very much Anne for your thoughtful review and kind words. It is a privilege to care for your father, and we are pleased to know that the team's professionalism, positive attitude, and compassionate approach are evident in their daily interactions. At Belmont House, we are fortunate to have a fantasic team, and we truly value the dedication they bring to their roles.

Received ample admission information and admission was very smooth and painless. I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. Good communication with management and I was kept up to date with regards to the admission procedure.
As my mother has only just arrived, I am unable to judge anything
else. There are a few teething problems but hopefully this will be resolved in time.

I cannot rate this home highly enough. They have been so supportive from the first day visiting through all the transition and then with difficult times. All the staff go above and beyond not just for the residents but for families. The home is so clean and food is lovely. Always activities for families
to join in such as mothers day and fathers day which is so important.
Residents are always so well presented and clean. The home has a lovely 'home' feeling and couldnt ask for a better care environment for our family member. Thank you to everyone at this home!!!!

My uncle has now been a permanent resident of The Moors Care Centre for three months and in that time, myself, and other family members, have been so impressed with the level of support and care provided. The most important thing for us all is the wellbeing and happiness of my uncle who has also expressed
how much he likes the set up and the care he receives. I find one of the most impressive aspects of the Home is the interaction between all of the staff and my uncle and I have also witnessed this with other residents. The communication between the staff and family members is also very welcome. Please keep up the good work and a big thank you to all of the staff for their efforts, this is very much appreciated.

Ashfield Court

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother of 93 was drawn to Ashfield Court but its sense of family. Since arriving she has found herself surrounded by kindness and patience. Carers quickly got to know mum's character and her preferred routines. They gave her the space to settle in at her own pace. She has enjoyed being able to go
outside, tend plants, explore the library, watch a film and begin to make friends. Meals are a highlight, and she can't speak highly enough of the chef. Her health and happiness have increased because of this. I did worry that mum may feel isolated living at the top of the building, but she loves the view, is frequently checked in on and enjoys an independent morning walk around the building. Many of the staff have been part of the team for many years and obviously enjoy caring. Mum has begun to trust that she only has to ask for what she needs, and nothing is too much trouble. Mum feels safe. Having a nursing team on site helps and a to of her anxieties have been lifted. So too have mine and I can relax into simply being a daughter again.
Reply from Les Marshall, Home Manager at Ashfield Court

Thank you for those wonderful kind words, your mum is definitely very popular around the home. I can't say I have ever seen your mum without a smile on her face and a sense of purpose of where she is going. I am so pleased that we, as a home, are providing you with comfort and reassurance in the care and attention we give to your mum. To have you both recognise that, makes what we all do worthwhile,

The care my dad receives at Ashfield Court is fantastic and just right for him. They seem to 'get dad'. All members of staff from management, admin, nurses, carers, cleaners, dining room, activities, volunteers etc are professional and friendly and they spend time even though they may not have time.
A massive thank you to each and every one for making Dad's last however long special.

I came to live at Belmont House shortly after the death of my husband. I acquired ensuite accommodation in the residential Courtyard Unit and moved in the week the premises opened. That was in November 2006. After 9 years, I moved into the nursing Garden Unit as I needed more care. Once again, I am
in ensuite accommodation. Belmont House is a person-centered Care Home. I am treated as an individual and not expected to lose my personality or my personal preferences. The Care Staff are always very attentive and are obviously well trained. The Home Manager, is extremely approachable and bends over backwards to make life comfortable and enjoyable for the residents. I think the fact that I have lived happily at Belmont House for over 18 years speaks for itself!
