We arrived with our Chinese Aunt in January 2026 and warmly welcomed. She has a lovely room near the lounge which works well for her. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. The need for transferring my Aunt from another area quite quickly, was handled with empathy and encouragement. It happened
smoothly and all staff were very helpful in the difficult and sad circumstances.
There are issues to work through and we look to working together with Claremont to support these, so our Aunt can engage more with other residents, be involved and enjoy what the home provide, and make new friends!
A lovely relaxing atmosphere & place to visit and be part of with Auntie. Her Chinese family who visited recently were very pleased with Claremont and thankful to see where she now lives. They received a warm welcome. Thank you for welcoming the family as we come and go!

What an exceptional care home! Since my mother chose to live at Claremont Manor her health and life experiences have been enhanced. With the extensive range of the activity programme, my mother has embraced new opportunities whilst also feeling confident to decline if she doesn't want to join in.
This
home is very well led by the manager and her senior team. Consequently, all staff I have met are committed and enthusiastic in their work. There is an atmosphere of fun and laughter, and a 'can do' attitude. I would like to thank everyone for making my mother so welcome in this home and giving her a new lease of life in her 90s.
Reply from Katy Ullah, Customer Relations Manager at Claremont Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. My mother moved into Claremont Manor towards the end of last year. On the day she moved in all her pictures and personal items were in the room and the handyman hung all the pictures for her on that same day. All was very welcoming and my mother settled in straight away. The care and support she
receives in second to none and all members of staff are very caring and friendly and all have a very positive attitude in supporting her. The nursing care is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. I highly recommend Claremont Manor to everyone.
Reply from Katy Ullah, Customer Relations Manager at Claremont Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your wonderful feedback. My sister is very well looked after and most importantly, is safe. The carers, nurses and hospitality staff manage her sometimes difficult and challenging behaviour and will do what they can to make things more comfortable for her. The staff are concerned with making the environment pleasant, keeping
it clean, well decorated and comfortable offering alternative spaces, inside and out, so the residents have a choice of other places to go if they do not wish to remain in their rooms.
There are usually at least two activities organised each day which give a variety of things for residents to participate in. My sister generally is unable to but does enjoy the musicians and music sessions that occur regularly. I have always been welcomed to engage with the session should I visit when my sister is attending one.
The staff all greet me and call me by name when I visit and will go out of their way to make my visit (and others that visit her) comfortable.
Reply from Steve Baker, Home Manager at Kings Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review of Kings Manor. The team work hard each day to make sure the people that live with us have all their needs met, be that physical, mental or spiritual and we are delighted you feel your sister is well looked after. As soon as I arrived at Claremont Manor I felt the happiness of the home. Driven from the Cotswolds wth my family - who had found this excellent home for me - we were warmly welcomed, offered refreshments and the help of a handyman who instantly hung pictures etc to turn my room into my new home. A
brief tour of my surroundings included greetings from carers along corridors, some open doors to residents rooms resulting in friendly waves. A 'knit and natter' activity was in progress in a large lounge - serveral other lounges for use to. From living alone for years I'd recently felt the need to know there was someone nearby should I fall, people to talk with, no more concerns - and I've found all this and more at Claremont - it really is exceptional in every way and my ratings reflect my experience.
Reply from Katy Ullah, Customer Relations Manager at Claremont Manor Care HomeWhat a fabulous review Pam. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback. You are the most welcome addition to our home, recently announced as our 'Hero of the Month' for being such a kind, joyful spirit who has brought huge comfort and support to our other residents and staff. We feel very lucky to have you!

Kings Manor, Ottery St Mary, has all the advantages of a new build - wide corridors, plenty of light, excellent sitting rooms, balconies and a good garden. Rooms too are light and airy. Staff welcoming, kind and very careful. My wife has settled more quickly than I could have hoped or expected. Thoroughly
impressed with everything so far.

Mum has lived in Kings Manor for the last 2 years. Unfortunately she has now passed away. The care, compassion and kindness of every single staff member has been second to none. The management team were fantastic with us when trying to negotiate entry to the care system. The lifestyle team were great
at getting Mum involved in any activity that was on offer. The catering team were all lovely and Mum enjoyed interaction with them. The nursing team have been absolutely amazing, especially in Mums final months. They have looked after all her needs, with kindness and compassion, and have also supported us as a family, and for that we are very thankful. I also can't leave out the Admin team who have always been quick to answer any questions and have been very approachable. The cleanliness of not only Mums room but the home as a whole is always exceptional. Now that Mum is no longer here we are going to miss them all as part of our extended family.
Reply from Marita Westaway, Home Manager at Kings Manor Care HomeThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. Mother-in-Law moved into Claremont Manor in June 2024. She has been well looked after during that time with the freedom to go where she wishes and excellent facilities for her to use. Unfortunately, since a recent bout of RSV she has certainly deteriorated in health and mood. The staff continue to look
after her well despite her now erratic moods and behaviour.
Reply from Katy Ullah, Customer Relations Manager at Claremont Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It has been our pleasure to care for your mother in law, it is upsetting that her health has deteriorated since the RSV. She is in safe hands and surrounded by people who want the best for her. Thanks again.

My wife has been cared for by the staff of Claremont since 22nd November. She has had Parksons for over 30+ years and is now in what is termed the complex phase. Her transfer from hospital to Claremont for initially respite care has been transformational. And while she has not been able to make a recovery
her well being both emotionally and physically has been wonderful. I cannot thank Claremont Manor staff enough for everything they do.
Reply from Katy Ullah, Customer Relations Manager at Claremont Manor Care HomeThank you Gerald for your kind review. We are delighted that your wife is thriving here at Claremont Manor, it is our pleasure to have her staying with us. We also enjoy seeing you everyday too!

An excellent care home. Caring staff. All the staff from cleaners and maintenance staff, through hostesses, carers, nurses, admin staff to the manager interact extremely well with both residents and residents' relatives. There is a very welcoming, friendly atmosphere whenever I visit and the residents
are looked after in an extremely professional but caring manner.
In the run up to Christmas there were a good range of activities for the residents and visits outside of the Care Home.
Christmas Day was lovely with gifts for the residents and flowers for the residents' wives. There is a very good attention to detail. Although my husband is unable to write, the staff had prepared a Christmas card for me from him which was a lovely touch.
Reply from Katy Ullah, Customer Relations Manager at Claremont Manor Care HomeThank you for your wonderful review, it is much appreciated. It was our pleasure to make Christmas special for you both, I will pass on your kind feedback to the team. Thank you.

The clinical and management staff at Claremont have been consistently caring and insightful. They have shown us that they want the best for Dad and that they are his advocate. Carers and nurses have got to know Dad as a person, not just a service user. Staff always know the names of residents that they
pass in the hallway, and they have a friendly, open attitude. Dad has enjoyed the food choices. Highly recommend.

My husband has been at Claremont Manor for just a week. The first impression is of a well designed and welcoming place. The staff (there are lots of them) are all friendly and helpful. Each of three floors has a lounge and dining room and a coffee station where you can get hot drinks, biscuits and
cakes. There is also a grandchildren's room, a cinema and a bistro. Other things as well, but I have yet to discover everything. The rooms are light and airy and offer good views out over the surrounding countryside. Beds are comfortable and each room has a TV and an en suite shower room. Security is good. My husband has special pressure mats on the floor so that staff can be alerted if he moves around. The home is well administered and very professional. The food is varied, nutritional and the helpings are good. Visitors can order meals in advance if they wish. Outings take place in the home's minibus. The grounds are pleasant, but not yet fully mature as the home was built in 2024.

My father moved to Kings Manor a few weeks ago - I am his eldest daughter. He has been treated with the utmost respect and all his needs have been catered for. He has been assessed for hearing and swallowing and he is back to eating normal food. He is a bit more chatty and verbalising well. The staff
are all very caring and respectful, also approachable. I'm very happy with his care.

When my mum arrived in Claremount Manor she was so happy to see that she had been given such a nice place to recuperate from hospital , and I was so thankful for this . We have recently lost my father and it has been so heartbreaking for my mum as they were together 66 years .
Id like to thank all
the workers and management for taking good care of my mum , and the social workers who made this possible .
My mum spent three weeks in Claremount for restbite after being in hospital . All the care staff were wonderful and did all they possibly could to make the service users happy . It was a very well run home , food was good , cleanliness , and good activities for all the service users.
When I visited my mum , the members of staff were lovely, and did all they could to make me feel welcome .
Thank you all .
Merry Christmas

Claremont Manor provided the best possible end of life care for my mum. The site, room and facilities were immaculate and beautiful and the staff were unfailingly kind and patient with the size of family and number of visitors. Mum was treated as a much-loved individual, not just any old patient,
and she felt confident in the care she was receiving. We could not have asked fir anything more in those final precious weeks of mum's life.

Our mother moved to Claremont from Torbay Hospital, following an unexpected and devastating terminal diagnosis, which also rendered her paralysed. She was resident at Claremont for just under a month before passing away and we could not have hoped for a better place for her to spend those final weeks.
The facilities, staff and care were exceptional, not just for our mother, but for all of us. We are an extremely large family and Mum had many visitors throughout her stay as she came to the end of her life.
We were all treated with kindness and understanding as we navigated the remaining time we had with her. And the care for Mum from all the staff, which we witnessed first hand, was full of compassion, dignity, professionalism and understanding.
At a truly tragic and traumatic time for her and all of us, Claremont provided the ideal environment for her and us to say our goodbyes. We would all like to thank them very much indeed.
