Review of The Cottage Wing from Marlene J (Respite Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My stay here has been a very good step towards my recovery. We have found the staff to be most helpful and obliging, with nothing being too much trouble. No request was turned down. Being a light sleeper, I found the call alarm was a bit loud, but even this was dealt with. All medical needs were met.

Reply from Karen Lanchester, home manager at The Cottage Wing

Thank you for your lovely review. We're delighted to hear that your stay has been such a positive step in your recovery and that our team was able to support you throughout. It's wonderful to know that your needs were met and that our staff made you feel well cared for. We truly appreciate your feedback and wish you all the very best with your continued recovery.

Review of Waverley House from Jennifer J (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Lovely care home for mum to be in. The nurses and carers are really caring and always looking out for my mum. Me and my family are very happy for mum to be there. It was a difficult decision for us to make for her to go in a care as I was mums full time carer for 3 years.

My mum went into the care home for restbite and they were very good then that's when me, mum and my family decided for her to go into Waverley permanently. The best decision made.

Reply from Allan Riley, home manager at Waverley House

Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt review. We know what a difficult decision it can be to move a loved one into care, and we're truly honoured that you chose Waverley for your mum. It's wonderful to hear that our nurses and carers have made such a positive difference, and we're delighted that you and your family feel happy and reassured. Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care.

Review of Glebe House from A M (Cousin of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Really easy to communicate with everyone with regards to organising respite, which will now become permanent care. The home was clean, bright and welcoming upon arrival both before moving her in and on the day of her arrival. The staff always make time to help and answer questions and have genuinely made the process easy for me as someone who was suddenly thrown into this new world with little knowledge.

Reply from Charlene Bickle, home manager at Glebe House

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're so pleased to hear that our team has made what can be a challenging transition feel easier and more reassuring for you. It's wonderful to know you found our home welcoming and our staff supportive throughout the process. We look forward...

Review of Hillside Lodge from Diane S (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum has been a resident at Hillside Lodge for a few years. The staff have formed a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for residents and their families. As a family we are so grateful for how well mum is being cared for, she is treated with dignity and respect at all times. The team leaders ensure we are kept informed of every aspect of mums care and wellbeing.
The residents rooms and communal spaces are bright, clean and well maintained.
The kitchen provides a varied menu, there are always options available so residents can choose what they prefer.
There are lots of activities on offer, and many have included family participation - which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Knowing mum is happy, safe and well cared for brings comfort to the family.

Review of Victoria House from D N (Relative of Resident) published on 30 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Overall the permanent staff are caring, and reliable. However there is an awareness of shortage of staff and buzzers can take some time to be answered - if two members of staff are required for a resident then this adds to the delay. The residents miss the little 'shop' that used to go around. The laundry facilities are excellent with a fast turnaround and the home always smells clean and fresh. Food is good.

Reply from Kristina Craig, home manager at Victoria House

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We're pleased to hear your positive comments about our caring team, laundry service, cleanliness and food. We also appreciate you highlighting the delays in answering buzzers and your comments about the residents' shop. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us continue to improve the care and experience we provide.

Review of New Elmcroft from Bob P (Son of Resident) published on 29 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our mum came to Elmcroft Nursing Home on 11th February for respite care after suffering a fall. Like many families, we were naturally anxious, but we couldn't have asked for a better place.

From day one, every member of staff treated Mum with kindness, dignity and respect. The nursing and care teams were exceptional, showing compassion, patience and professionalism every day. They took the time to get to know her, always making her feel valued and safe.

The management and administrative team were equally supportive, always friendly, approachable and helpful with the many arrangements and paperwork involved. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Knowing Mum was so well cared for gave our family real peace of mind during a difficult time. We are sincerely grateful to everyone at Elmcroft for their care, kindness and dedication. We would wholeheartedly recommend Elmcroft to anyone looking for a caring and professional nursing home.

Review of Llwyn Teg Care Home from Henry M (Son of Resident) published on 22 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Llwyn Teg is an exceptional care home and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. It has a very homely atmosphere and is a warm and friendly place, always clean, tidy and well cared for. But it's best feature by far are the staff who are superb. They are always very welcoming and friendly, carry out their duties with great professionalism whilst being warm and caring, and frequently go above and beyond to provide my Mum with the best care. The management team are very approachable and always find the time to discuss my Mum's care if I have any queries and keep me well informed on her care and needs.

It was a difficult decision for my Mum to have to move into a care home but after her living at Llwyn Teg for the last two and a half years now I have great confidence that she has the best possible care and genuinely would not want her to live in any other care home.

Reply from Rachel Owen, home manager at Llwyn Teg Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It means a great deal to our entire team to know that your mum has been happy and well cared for at Llwyn Teg. We truly appreciate your trust and support, and it is a privilege to be part of your mum's journey.

Llwyn Teg is a pleasant care home, providing good quality care. The day care staff work extremely hard, long hours but are always smiling and willing to help when needed. The building is tidy and the grounds are attractive.

Review of Glebe House from F B (Mother of Resident) published on 17 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
A 35yr old man stayed here. A worrying place in the heat, hot weather as he was not allowed downstairs into the garden, dependent on lift and carers, denied for two weeks.

Although choosing to not eat meat, he was fed meat.

The single bed has a double electric socket at hip level, I asked about moving the plug but not possible to the higher double ;point.
..hint, a 35yr old man, trapped in the above bed, could at least have more to eat than toast for every meal, 3x day.
His communication device 'broke' and was not mended or reported until Oscar was collected to come home.

I would avoid this facility, this is supported by the man involved.

Reply from Charlene Bickle, home manager at Glebe House

Within Glebe House, we are committed to upholding each person's right to choice, and having reviewed this matter, I am reassured that this principle was maintained on this occasion across all aspects of daily living.

My aunt settled in easily due to sympathetic staff. She has dementia which staff handle well. Activities are daily and inclusive, in a relaxed atmosphere. She is always clean, clothes washed. Room is kept clean and smells nice too. She likes the food which is cut up for her. I am always welcome when i visit and receive an update on how she is doing.

A very pleasant care home that suits all my mother's needs, i.e., hygiene, eating, activities, friendship, etc. Home is of immaculate decoration and very easy to navigate with wheelchair. Lots of communal space and staff are simply amazing. Nothing is too much to do to look after the residents daily. Overall, a fine and wonderful place to be (our happiness is key also, and we are so).

Both parents have been residents sadly lost my father late last year. During this period we have seen how hard the team work to care for them on my Farther's last days they came in on there days of to keep me company . They always greet with a smile and we are kept update on how my parents are .

If I have anything to question would be maybe more outings but I understand this is very difficult with the amount of staff needed .
