I visit a resident as part of a group. We are all volunteers and visit people in care homes and in their homes as well. My experience of visiting Norwood Green Care Home is a very positive one as the staff are friendly and helpful. I could recommend it to any family who may be thinking of placing a
loved one in a care home for their care.
Reply from Miguel Norville, Home Manager at Norwood Green Care HomeFirstly, thank you for volunteering at our home and for giving up some of your time to put a smile on our residents' faces. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience also. Best wishes from all of us, Miguel

Excellent Care home I cannot praise the care my Aunty received highly enough. The home is extremely well run is very kind and compassionate and all members of staff we engaged with were brilliant from the receptionist to the carers and nurses and a special mention to the manager who was exceptional. My
Aunty arrived in Kingston Care Home in a very confused state and in poor health
After 3 months she has improved enormously thanks to the kindness and patience of all the team.My Aunty was treated with respect and dignity, I was impressed with the level of professionalism shown by all the staff combined with the relaxed atmosphere.I would highly recommend Kingston and would sincerely like to thank everyone for the care my Aunty received over her stay.

Today I visited Carolina, residing at room 52. It was 15:07 when I arrived and I found her at the lounge, half way through pants down, soiled, dirty and left sleeping unwashed. I immediately called the attention of 1 women who's said the she's all alone and cannot clean her. She has to deal with loads
today and there's no staff. Mind you, I don't go on normal days and I go on random days and this has always been the response to me every time I see others unattended. This time it was Carolina being ignored. She must've fallen asleep waiting for help. Luckily I was there otherwise it might've been hours till she's seen. I even offered to clean her up myself if no one wanted to but another lady came and sent her back to her room and wash. Before she washed her she told me that Carolina has been spitting and hurting them and that one staff was injured because of her. I asked how come she can do this? She's 83 fragile, can't walk and stand properly to hit someone. This is not good.

Sad to say the level of care was absolutely appalling and the room was awful dad walked talked and was self caring he just needed a bit of guidance. This was like a military operation, I got there they gave him a shaved head he is a man that always loved his mid length hair, we were not even consulted
, he was the given mild sedation to settle him in as he was not sleeping within 2 days he could not walk could not eat and they put pads on him that upset him so much day 5 he was in hospital with a severe infection , he is now in a new home, walks talks and no pads self caring , he is now the person he was before he got there. I felt quite intimidated when I tried to ask questions in the office I had 4 people at me a absolute disgrace

I arrived at the facility at 12.30 pm on Friday 20th February 2026 to visit my Stepmother whom I visit every few months as I live away from London. I was led to her room by a member of staff who was very polite. My Stepmother told me that she was very happy at the "House", and she had everything she
needed. Her room was very clean and whilst visiting a member of staff brought her lunch and later a desert.
I had a chat with The General Manager in his office, who was very impressive and informative and was well versed as to the mental health situation of my Stepmother.
Generally, I was very happy of her care in the facility.
Reply from Emmanuel Torsoo, Home Manager at Alan Morkill HouseThank you for taking the time to share your visit to Alan Morkill House. It's really reassuring to hear that your stepmother feels happy and settled, and that she feels she has everything she needs.

Mum has been in for a couple of weeks now, and our first impression is one of a friendly caring environment. The office team as well as the HCAs have looked after her, and if needed ensured that she is safe, at the same time saying no when necessary. Mum is very independently minded and appears to be
settling in nicely.

My sister-in-law has been a resident in Baugh House for nearly two years, and the family has been very pleased with the kindness and compassion shown by all the staff. At the beginning, and as a result of her dementia, she presented with some fairly challenging behaviour at times, but the staff were
very patient with her and were able to channel her energy into more positive pursuits. The manager, Alejandro, has gone out of his way, together with the staff, to find out about her interests and hobbies so that appropriate activities can be enjoyed by her.
All the staff are easy to talk to, ranging from the welcome from the receptionist to the interactions with the medical staff and management. My sister-in-law is settled at Baugh House and whilst she's very pleased to see family members, she's never sad when we leave. Baugh House is her home and she's very happy there.

This is a difficult review to write. In the beginning, the care at Lansdowne was very good. However, since the home changed ownership and the care home manager changed, standards declined rapidly. The majority of nurses and carers truly cared about the residents but there were problems with some of
the staff, and the way in which emergencies were dealt with, especially at night. Quite often, my friend was left in her room alone, even during activity time. Also, the food was not very good, sometimes just a sandwich for main meal. These issues were raised with the management team; and while an effort was made to improve matters, many troubling issues still remained. When our concerns were not fully resolved, the management solution was to evict a frail, vulnerable 96-year-old, arguing that they could not meet high expectations, despite promoting themselves as specialists in nursing care and complex dementia. I am sad to see such a decline at Lansdowne, and take no joy in posting this.

When we first came across Lansdowne, we were impressed by the welcoming mangement and lovely staff team; and for the first couple of months, we were happy with the care my mother received. Sadly, however, the ownership/management changed and, with it, the attitude towards the care of the residents.
Its
not often a care home evicts a resident because a relative has raised concerns about the care on offer. But that is just what happened to my very elderly, very frail mum. This care home, promoting itself as specialist in dementia and nursing, evicted her while she was in hospital, leaving her nowhere to go, and extending her hospital stay by two weeks while we found a more welcoming care home, where she is now being well-cared for.
The staff team are (mostly) still lovely; but this new management have made it difficult for anyone to raise concerns about the care their relatives receive, without risk of eviction, and are slowly eroding everything that made Lansdowne the place it was.
