My father was a resident in his final weeks, and I cannot thank the team enough for the support and care they provided. Throughout his time, and especially during his end of life care, staff him and his family with utmost dignity and respect. They were kind patient and attentive to his needs, ensuring he was comfortable, clean and pain free. He died peacefully. Their compassion extended to the entire family at this difficult time. I highly recommend Lauriston to anyone looking for a safe environment for their loved ones

I would just like to say firstly what a wonderful approachable team that we have at the lauriston always prepared to go that bit extra to try and encourage the residents.

My mother who unfortunately doesn't like leaving her room is still asked by the team to join in the activities every time although she gives the same response they never give up hope on trying to encourage or persuade her.

Thank you so much for your kind review, we are so glad you have found the team approachable and that they go the extra mile to encourage residents to participate. We will continue to encourage your mum to join in and if she choses not to we will also spend time with her in her room, as it is important to us to engage with everyone even if they choose not to engage in the communal areas.

I personally chose the Lauriston to care for my Dad as my Nan was here in 2018 and cared for beyond our our expectations.
We contacted on the Monday, looked round on the Tuesday, they visited Dad at home within hours and he came on the Wednesday at midday.
Visiting my Dad today on the Thursday. It is the first time he has been comfortable in the last 2 weeks.
He is no longer agitated and resting peacefully.

Could not be more thankful for the care they have put in so far. Highly recommended.

Mum spent the last two years of her life as a resident at Lauriston. Like most people, she would have preferred to have remained at home but that was not possible. Lauriston was so welcoming, they really got to know mum. She had lost a lot of weight and was quite frail following a stay in hospital. The care she received soon had her on the mend. She put on weight and her mobility improved. She was encouraged to join in activities and be part of the community. She especially enjoying the regular visiting singers. Aside from the great atmosphere at Lauriston, it was the care, compassion and friendship she received from all the staff that made her stay there a happy one. In her last few months her needs increased and the care, compassion and nursing was second to none. When searching for a care home you can be taken in by glitz and glamour, however, if your loved one needs care and compassion, Lauriston is the place to choose. Fantastic caring staff who I can not praise or thank enough.

Well I never write reviews - ever, but this service has knocked me enough to give one. My father went into the Lauriston for respite. He had dementia and we needed some support. The care was incredible. He passed last Thursday after a stroke, and it was the best place for him to be. So professional and a lot of nurses on day and night. When he did pass one nurse came with another and prayed over him which was such a touching thing to do.

We were kept informed at all times when he was there and in his last hours, when we were at his bedside 24/7, the nurses ensured we were also ok and gave us food and drink.

My Mum spent almost two years at Lauriston in the dementia unit, after a long stay in hospital. It was such a relief when she arrived and the staff took over her care. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and they get to know residents and their relatives so well, they begin to feel like family. There is very low staff turnover. Mum was always treated with compassion and respect and was able to regain her dignity. She always looked well cared for and she enjoyed having her hair done. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff and they kept me fully informed about all aspects of her care. Lauriston is kept spotlessly clean. The rooms are comfortable. There is always an activity going on or an event to enjoy, provided by the activity co-ordinator, with the staff in the kitchen providing tasty treats for celebrations. Mum enjoyed the food, which was which was varied and nutritious. A safe and professionally run home. Mum could not have had better care. Thank you, Lauriston.

My mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and we needed to find a good care home for her.
Lauriston has everything we looked for and we feel she is being treated with the care and respect she deserves.
The staff are all friendly, know her, speak of her in a very kind way and give her the dignity and attention we feel she needs.

The home has a good feel, is always clean and tidy with plenty of activities and good meals. I could ask no more for my much loved mother.

Thank you to everyone at Lauriston for the care and consideration shown to my 76-year-old wife during her respite stay. From the outset, it was reassuring to see how calmly and professionally she was welcomed, and how carefully her needs were managed. Knowing she was in safe and capable hands brought real peace of mind during a difficult period.
All staff were consistently kind, patient, and attentive, and it was clear they took time to understand her routines and preferences. She was treated with respect and warmth, which helped her settle in more easily than we had expected. The atmosphere at Lauriston was calm, comfortable, and well organised.
We were particularly appreciative of the way the nursing staff managed her diabetes, which was handled carefully and confidently.
Special mention should be made of the food, which was of a very high standard and genuinely enjoyed.

Thank you for providing such a caring and supportive respite experience at a very difficult time in our lives.

My Mother died in April 2025 having been looked after for 3 years Lauriston MHA Care Home and before that at Richmond MHA Care home, which was also run by the manager.
The care she received from care workers, auxiliary staff and cleaners was exemplary. She was cared for with love, dignity and respect. My brother, sister and I are all so grateful for the effort made by all staff to ensure Mum's comfort and dignity right to the end of her days.
The effort with Christmas lunches, music therapy, hair and nail salons, not to mention the spiritual care from the chaplain and pastoral visitors was impressive and so reassuring. It was always a happy, joyful place to visit in spite of the very difficult circumstances of finding ourselves unable to care for a dearly loved Mother.

The manager is an inspiration, full of ideas which she gets on and implements. Nothing but praise for the Home!

My mum moved into the Lauristons after her hospital discharge in April 2025. I looked at numerous homes for my mum and was horrified at most, until I found the Lauristons! The deputy manager spoke with me on the phone and showed me around. I knew from the phonecall it was going to be the place my mum would live.
Ever since my mum moved in, myself and other family members have felt more than welcome. All the staff, whether it's admin, management, cleaning, nurses or hca' have always been so friendly and polite. They all treat my mum with dignity, empathy and with the highest standard of care.
The home always smells and looks clean.
My mum always looks very well looked after and content.

I'm so greatful to of found the Lauristons and am truely greatful to them. I work in care myself and can say how great they do as a home, as a group and individually.

My mother moved to Lauriston in 2022, having previously been a resident somewhere else. The move was managed seamlessly and and it quickly became clear that the standards of care were just as high, and Mum was not aware of any change at all.
This is an exceptional care home, where the staff form really strong personal relationships with residents, and you can relax knowing that your relatives are in safe, consistent, caring hands. You are made very welcome; staff are polite, helpful & smiley.

The environment is light, bright and modern, and full use is made of the lovely garden spaces when the weather allows. The management and staff have gone to great lengths to provide the best quality of life for residents. Highlights have included Garden parties, musical entertainers, a music therapist, the Namaste multi-sensory room, church services on site, ducks & pets, facilitating really special birthday celebrations & family events and the Magazine.

After a recent unexpected hospital admission my dad was suddenly in a position whereby he needed urgent respite care. The Lauriston was recommended to me by a family member and I immediately contacted the manager who arranged a home visit to see dad with her senior nurse. Dad was very quickly assessed and moved in that day. It soon became apparent that dad needed full time care and we decided the Lauriston was the only place we wanted him to stay in. Dad has very complex needs and every single member of staff are amazing with him. They make him laugh and smile and I can honestly say I've never seen him eat so much ! It's like living in a posh hotel, with daily entertainment with lots to do, the gardens are lovely and the interaction the staff have with all the residents is just lovely to see. Dad wouldn't normally be one to mix with others, however he is thriving and even though he had a few teething problems, he is doing really well and this is only down to all the staff

My aunt was 107 years old of lately very frail and confined to her bedroom (as she then preferred).
Her care was loving from the staff assigned and they were extremely welcoming to me. I can't say my aunt was entirely happy because she always longed to be able to be free and self-reliant in her old age.

Her final care was gentle and professionally thorough. Always clean.

Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure supporting your aunt. We can remember her 106th birthday and how special we made it by a vintage car ride with all her favourite people around her. The home manager and all the team at Lauriston are simply the best. The care and support they offer is excellent. They have been on the dementia journey with my mum and I for the last three years. It hasn't always been easy, but I, and my family, are so very grateful for all their care and understanding. All the staff are friendly and welcoming.

The little things mean a lot, from the attention to detail with meals and afternoon treats, the birthday cakes/celebrations for everyone to the namaste sessions and entertainment and they also recognise and accommodate when people need some quiet time. The managers are always happy to listen, take on board and respond to any comments or suggestions. Placing your mum into the care of others is a very difficult thing to so, I am so pleased we found the perfect place for mum and her last few years are the best they can be.

My father-in-law has been at Lauriston for about 10 months- he has extremely poor memory and has always had quite a strong personality. He has no insight into his condition and doesn't remember very much about his days, but the team always involve him in activities, treating him with dignity, warmth and understanding, even when he can be quite challenging. We are welcomed when we visit, communication with the team is very easy and they are knowledgeable: a very different experience from the previous location in which he was living.
The environment is extremely clean and well maintained, with attention to detail and the food is always fresh and well presented.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Lauriston to anyone who is looking for a quality place for their family member.
