Berwick Grange is the fourth care home my Mum has lived in since 2022. I'd say its the best one she's been in.

The quality of care and compassion from the staff is great - my Mum seems very happy. Facilities are good, as is the food she is provided with. Any issues are raised quickly and the management team take a pragmatic approach to things.

I feel so lucky & incredibly grateful that my Dad is at Berwick Grange. The staff are warm & friendly to residents. The manager has always been available for a chat when needed.

The residents are treated with dignity & respect & I particularly like that, (where appropriate) they are given choices. The building & rooms are always spotlessly clean. The activities are plentiful with local trips & the Garden & gardening activities are a real bonus!

My mum spent 6 years at this amazing home and I cannot thank the staff enough for their patience, understanding and care of my mum. They knew her very well indeed and delivered her care wonderfully with dignity, respect and humour. Priceholme is so much more than a care home - it's a family.

After a few respite stays, Mum moved permanently to Priceholme, and it feel slike she is one of the family. The standard of care is excellent, high level of professionalism. Residents are valued as individuals and care is offered on that basis too. Such a relief to know that Mum is safe and well supported and I don't need to worry. Recommend very highly!

My father found it quite difficult moving from his own home due to declining health, but the staff overcome his concerns with their kindness, thoughtfulness and determination to make sure he felt settled, which he now does.
There's always plenty going on and the staff are cheerful and helpful. I think this is due to their Manager having a very 'can do' attitude, nothing is too much trouble.
Over Christmas the activities have been excellent and family are always welcome to join in.

I would recommend Priceholme as a safe, caring, welcoming home, and the food is excellent too.

Staff are excellent at the best of times however I thought the run up to Christmas they went above and beyond for the residents. I was at a couple of events and watched them getting involved and helping out when they did not have too making sure there needs we're attended to then participating in events which I found quite touching.

Reply from Anna Gillon, Home Manager at Priceholme

Thank you for your wonderful and encouraging words. We always try and make activities and Christmas a magical time for the residents and, of course, you as our dear extended family members.

Review of Priceholme from Robert H (Son of Resident) published on 30 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Mother has been a resident of Priceholme for almost two years, during which time she has been very well looked after, being treated with care, respect and genuine affection by all staff at all levels. The Home organises activities appropriate for the residents, the food is very good and the general atmosphere of Priceholme is very warm and homely. The décor of the rooms is a perhaps a little tired, but in no way detracts from the overall atmosphere. Also, they are looking to carry out a refurbishment in the near future. Overall, I couldn't re3commend Priceholme more strongly.

Reply from Anna Gillon, Home Manager at Priceholme

Overall Experience
My husband has only been at Berwick Grange for four months but, thanks to the excellent care, support and expertise of the care team, he has settled well and is happy there.
The values set at this carehome are of the highest order...residents are treated with respect and dignity and every member of the team has excellent knowledge of the needs and character profile of every resident. Indeed everyone who works at Berwick Grange knows every resident's name and they carry out their roles, mindful of the needs of individuals. There is a notable sense of the care offered at Berwick Grange being a whole team effort.
Family members are welcomed and are well supported.

The home is well led; the manager and deputies are incredibly supportive. I have no hesitation in recommending Berwick Grange.

I came away feeling the utmost respect for all those involved in my care and behind the scenes. They knew without being told what I needed and were always cheerful.

I have one item which it might help to address - the top of the chest of drawers in room 19 was flaking away at the front and anyone whose sight is impaired might hurt themselves on its rough edges.

Reply from Anna Gillon, Home Manager at Priceholme

Thank you so much for your lovely words. We are very proud of our little home and all of our wonderful staff. It's nice for the staff to get the recognition they deserve. I appreciate you bringing the flaky drawers to our attention and be assured, these have been removed and replaced. I'm so...

My Mother has now been a resident for around 8 years, and the fact that she is still in the health that she is in is a testament to the quality of service that she has received throughout her time as a resident.
Staff are caring, professional and efficient, and all the family are very comfortable with the environment of the care home and we have absolute confidence in the management and the carers.
Facilities are generally well maintained and ongoing investment has seen some additions such as the summer house. The bedrooms could benefit from a little freshening up.
Activities are also arranged on an ongoing basis.
The food, which is all prepared fresh, has improved since the new chef has been employed and is first-rate.

Overall a well-run homely environment where my mother is well cared for and happy.

Review of Priceholme from Alison S (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 July 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The care and support is excellent. The people working and living there have become almost like an extended family to me in looking after my mother. There is always a friendly welcome, and swift and ready support for queries from myself, my mother, or other family and friends who visit. As visitors, we are welcome at any time of day. We can join in activities and offer suggestions. The staff all work so hard to help and support the residents. The rooms do need redecorating, and I know management are working to achieve this.

My mum and my aunt are being looked after at priceholme. I am very happy with their care. The staff are all really friendly and go to great lengths to support residents and families. The atmosphere in the home is warm and welcoming and it feels like a nice place to be. The staff put a great range of activities on and also do all they can to facilitate anything the residents would like to do.
