My mother has been a resident in Glen Rosa for 7 years now, and continues to be very well looked after by the excellent staff there. The staff really care about the residents, and I am repeatedly touched by the way they look after my mum. There are a lot of activities arranged, even in Kitwood which
is the dementia section of Glen Rosa). My mother even got up and danced at a recent music session! I would have no hesitation in recommending Glen Rosa to anyone looking for a good residentail home.

Dad says that the staff provide good care and are friendly and helpful. The home appears to be clean and tidy with a good level of staffing. His only complaint (hence 4 stars rather than 5) is the food not being that great particularly anything involving pastry which he finds hard and difficult to cut
through. However he has put weight on since moving in so is definitely eating enough and appears healthy.

My 77year old husband has been living in Glen Rosa for 11 months. He settled in to his new home (upon discharge from Hospital), very well and easily due to the incredible support of all the staff.
Myself and our 2 daughters couldn't possibly think more highly of Glen Rosa. All family members who
visit are made to feel very welcome.

My husband spent two weeks in respite care at Glen Rosa in April, 2026.
He was treated with kindness and dignity, loved the food and activities. The staff went out of their way to make him comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. His room was warm and spotlessly clean.
As his wife and living
nearby, I was welcome to spend quality time with him. It meant a lot.

My Stepmum has been a resident in the Dementia section of Glen Rosa for nearly two years now, and settled well into what is a lovely , safe, warm and caring environment. As my sister and I both live overseas, we were concerned that we find the right home for our mum, as our visits are limited. There
is a high standard of cleanliness and catering and a good selection of activities and stimulation for the residents. The staff are all friendly and attentive and provide the care and support that we needed to be sure of for our mums wellbeing.

My mother was a resident for just under 2 years. In that time she found all the carers so thoughtful and supportive. The nursing care was very diligent, working closely with GPs. The atmosphere at Gledhow Care Home is very friendly to all family, visitors and residents. All I can say is thank you Gledhow!

My mother passed away in February after a long struggle with dementia. She had also been a resident in another MHA care home. My experience of Mum's care at Gledhow was exemplary. I could go into the home and would be recognised, told what my Mum had been up to in the last couple of days and was constantly
reassured that staff were seeing her not as a resident but as a human being. Her room was comfortable and safe, reflecting her need for specific bed arrangements due to her lack of mobility. A nurse was always available for me to discuss how Mum had been, and the receipt of a monthly call was also welcome and reassuring. Myself and my brother could only really ask for reassurance that Mum was safe, well looked after and stimulated through the comprehensive activities programme and we got that in abundance. Her passing was very peaceful and calm and again I feel that was down to the care she received.
Reply from Rita Kaur, Home Manager at GledhowThank you so much, we're glad to hear that Gledhow provides good care for your mum, we will continue to provide the high standard of care, and I will share this lovely review with my team.

Within the last 2yrs we have gone from, assisted living, to residential and now with moms health changing we was on the lookout for the perfect nursing home. We came across Gledhow and on entering the home was greeted with warmth + welcome and know we'd found the perfect home for mum. Beautiful room,
kept clean + tidy, lovely caring staff and management and all very approachable. The care and compassion shown to our mum is remarkable. We couldn't of wished for anywhere better.

The staff are fantastic and provide care, activities and support which makes my dad feel safe and secure and engaged with those around him.
Rachel and Adam run the place really well and

My mother spent the last weeks of her life at Gledhow. The staff treated mum with total dignity and respect throughout her stay, and even after death the care they showed to her body, and the guard of honour that was provided when the body was being collected, will live with me forever... I thank the
team wholeheartedly and will be forever grateful.

I enjoy volunteering at Glen Rosa. All staff are attentive to the needs & wishes of residents. I am in most weeks for a couple of hours, there are regular & varied activities throughout the year. Residents are treated with care, kindness, respect & dignity. There are places for rest, places for games
& play & social times. The house is comfortable & a nice place to visit for a relative - there are always biscuits! Everyone says hello when I come in & asks how I am. I am given training to keep residents & myself safe as I work. I know when I a\sk for help, the staff will respond. There is lovely garden for sensory experiences & for residents to care for.

My wife has advanced dementia and has been in Gledhow for over two years. She has Alzheimer's, Vascular Dementia and Aphasia, so has lost her memory almost completely, has limited understanding and her speech is mostly gibberish, so she now needs everything to be done for her. The staff get her up each
day, shower her, dress her, help her to the lounge and make sure she is comfortable there and help her with her meals. The staff are all pleasant, hard-working and helpful and deal with the many problems that arise with residents in a calm and sympathetic way. The fact that you can visit at any time without an appointment illustrates that the home really has nothing to hide, and I am very happy that my wife is there and is so well cared for.

My husband has been a resident at Glen Rosa, Ilkley since April this year and my overall impression is how kind and caring all the staff are. They joke with him and always have a word for him in passing. He is in Kitwood and especially enjoys the railway carriage and going on train journeys. He also
enjoys watching sport on the large tablet. The music therapy is also much appreciated. He seems contented and settled and enjoys frequent visits from our family and grandchildren who live opposite Glen Rosa and the children are always welcomed by the staff, as am I. As I live very close by too, I can enjoy quality time most days so think I would know if he was unhappy. He also enjoys the food which seems to be very good, if rather on the sweet side! He is treated with dignity and kindness, and I am very happy with the care he is receiving.
