I am delighted with the care that both of my parents receive at Ty Gwyn. The staff are incredible; always helpful, welcoming and extremely kind. My parents have settled in so well and enjoy their days in their new home. And it really does feel like home. Relatives are free to visit at any time. There
are lots of daily activities as well as a salon for hair and nails. The menu is varied and food is well prepared. Each floor has a lovely dining area for residents.
A really lovely place.
Reply from Val Stan, Home Manager at Ty Gwyn Care HomeMany thanks for your lovely review. We are honoured to look after both your parents. I will pass your message to the Ty Gwyn staff team. They will be very pleased.

I volunteer on a regular basis. The home is extremely clean and the care towards the residents are very caring. Its the type of home that if a parent had to go into I would choose this one. I have seen first hand how the day to day running's are, activities are very good. Always something going on.

I moved to Morel Court in April 25 having spent 5 months in a nursing home. Because I made such a good recovery there, I'm now living in a care home. My experience so far is very good - it gives me more independence and freedom. The fact the home has only 39 residents makes it feel like you belong to
a big family. My room overlooks a lovely garden which, weather permitting, I take advantage of every day. All the carers and staff are always cheerful and willing to help. We enjoy good food and plenty of activities, so it's a place where I feel happy and being cared for.
Reply from Suzanne Taplin, Home Manager at Morel CourtIt is lovely to hear that you have settled in well and are happy with the service provided. We take great pride in the home and ensuring the environment is warm and welcoming for all. Our aim is to support people in our care, to not just live later life well, but to be able to thrive.

A little early to write a report as my wife has only been in care for 2 weeks. Did have one issue with member of medical staff. My wife has constant pain in her left arm due to stroke. One evening it was so severe that I believed she needed to see a doctor. This person was totally dismissive although
it was obvious the pain my wife had, experience with all other staff - wonderful.
Reply from Val Stan, Home Manager at Ty Gwyn Care HomeMany thanks for your review. I am sorry to hear that a member of staff was dismissive and as we have already discussed, your concerns will be taken further. At Ty Gwyn we are proud to offer an excellent quality of care for all our residents, and we also work alongside families and relatives, encouraging any feedback to strive for the best.

My ninety-five-year old mother has been diagnosed with mixed dementia. She moved into Morel Court, Penarth in September 2024, after a trial period and has settled in well. She was keen to have a room on the ground floor. She initially moved into a room on the second floor, but a room on the ground
floor was soon available. She enjoys the range of activities on offer and is always ready to join in. There have been trips out and Mum is always asking, 'where are we going next'. Three meals are provided each day (breakfast, lunch, evening meal). Mum always askes for a larger portion as she eats well. The daily menu is displayed in the entrance foyer and there are choices for individual taste. Daily personal help is excellent. In my mother's own words - 'At Morel Court I feel safe, warm, well-fed and watered'.

We looked a a number of potential care homes for my stepmother last year. Morel Court stood out from the rest of them from the moment we walked in. There was a lovely family atmosphere and lots going on for the residents. The lovely member of staff who showed us around told us everything we needed
to know and answered our additional questions. The communal areas are clean and cheerful and my stepmother's room is really clean and homely with all her important things around her. It is five months since she moved in and has settled well. She speaks highly of all the staff. Communication is very good with staff replying quickly to any queries and also emaiing me if there is anything I need to know including any health matters relating to my stepmother.

My mother moved into Ty Gwyn Nursing home on the 16th October 2024. This was a very difficult time for her and the family. However the staff team have been extraordinary. They are kind, caring, supportive, and extremely friendly. The nursing team are knowledgeable, reactive to changing needs , and are
well trained. The manager is visible around the home and knows every resident and leads her team well. The administrator is the nicest person you could ever wish to meet. She is caring, kind and so helpful. I often found nurse with my mother after the end of their shift just sitting and talking with her, they always made time for my mother and the other residents. An excellent home.

There is a lovely friendly atmosphere and it really does strive to make it a home from home for the residents. There is always something to do for the residents should they want to join in. My mum is looking very well since she has been there and it's obvious she is being well looked after. I am very

My mother has been a resident of Ty Gwyn since 2021. The care and respect my mother has received is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble or a problem. All the staff are polite and professional. They take time with my mother to make sure she is comfortable, happy and cater for her every need.
I am kept informed about my mother on a regular basis. It was a very difficult decision to place a relative in a care home but it has turned out to be the best decision because of the outstanding care that Ty Gwyn provides. I am always met with a friendly welcome and Ty Gwyn feels like one big extended family.
