Review of The Willows Nursing Home from Margaret H (Wife of Resident) published on 15 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I am unable to care for my husband who has dementia and multiple health problem. All the staff, maintenance, catering, laundry, cleaning, care, nursing, activities and chaplain, show extreme kindness to both Alan and myself. I have no worries or concerns about him living there. I miss him but am welcomed whenever I go to see him. First rate.

My mother stayed in The Willows for respite care (to allow us to go on holiday). She felt very welcome and said she felt part of a small family. The staff were very friendly and caring, nothing was too much trouble. She felt safe which meant we could enjoy our break with no worries.

The Staff really do go above and beyond to help, my grandmother has settled in very well. Dementia is very cruel so to see staff that understand puts your mind at rest. I would highly recommend as we visited a lot it area before finding Mayfield.

Review of Mayfields from Dave B (Son of Resident) published on 11 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum had a fall in her bedroom unfortunately she needed a hip replacement operation. Only in hospital ten days and Mayfields were more than happy to take her back to look after her. They all did this superbly. Nothing was too much they just took it in their stride. And I mean everyone from staff, catering and housekeeping they all made this potential nightmare into a smooth transition from hospital to care home. Mums well up and at it again now and only uses the zimmer frame when tired. Can't thank you guys enough. Money can't provide this type of care, it comes from good people with even better hearts. Thanks so much from me, Dave B and our family xxx

The standard of care is excellent. The staff are very caring. There are great activities. Quizzes, exercises, music therapy and our chaplin leads a very uplifting service. The facilities and the rooms are good and the food is excellent.

Review of Mayfields from J D (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I have found placing my mum in care very difficult so I needed a home most importantly where my mum is safe and cared for but also where as a regular visitor to mum I am made welcome and that is what I have always found at Mayfields. If I ever have any concerns for mums care I have been able to speak to the senior management team and have felt listened too and solutions found. Importantly for residents the food is a very good standard and always varied, the home has a beautiful garden with lots of space inside too and activities going on most days and a church service on Sundays. I find Mayfields a very inclusive place for residents and family.

What a wonderful experiance we had while my dad was being cared for in The Willows. We felt cared for too and part of a lovely family. Unfortunately my father passed away but the consideration and empathy we were shown by all the staff in his last days was so much appreciated by my mum and I. Thank you.

I visit a friend and there is always a friendly welcome. The home has recently been refurbished + the rooms are decorated to a high standard. The home is kept beautiful + has a lovely light and spacious feel to it. My friend settled in well and all the staff are exceptionally kind to her. She isn't one for joining in the activities but there seems plent going on for those who wish to join in.

Review of Chapel Fields from Gill G (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 March 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

I couldn't be happier with the care my mum receives. From day 1 she has been incredibly well looked after, and it gives me such peace of mind knowing she is in a safe and secure environment. I feel at ease every time I leave knowing she is in capable hands. The entertainment provided is superb, there is always something going on and entertainment lady really goes the extra mile to keep everyone engaged, active & smiling. It's wonderful to see how much effort is putting into making each day enjoyable and meaningful. I'm truly grateful for the support, warmth and high standard of care provided, it makes all the difference.

Review of Chapel Fields from L G (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 30 January 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My father-in-law has been living at Chapel Fields for a little over 3 years. He is very settled and happy.

Being in his late 90's, he doesn't join in many activities but likes to attend the services. He particularly enjoys listening to the chaplains playing the violin, but finds some of the other musical entertainment a bit loud. He mostly enjoys the food but doesn't like rice, pasta or anything spicy. He is very well cared for by the friendly staff. Who are very helpful.

Review of Mayfields from M H (Relative of Resident) published on 20 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My relative had a respite stay at Mayfields during the summer. It was the first time we have used the service and we were very impressed. The staff are really helpful and the home had a lovely atmosphere, lots of activities. They have a 50's Cafe on Wednesdays which we have been able to attend to keep my aunt familiar with the home and have booked another stay very soon.

My sister's dinners are always cold, so therefore she isn't eating them. Also her cups of tea/coffee are cold so she's not drinking them.

Review of Chapel Fields from Linda J (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 September 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Mum initially came to Chapel Fields in July 2025 for respite care as my brother was away in Thailand & my sister had major surgery. As mum's care needs increased it was difficult to care for her at home as the care providers at that time felt she was unsafe to leave alone. Mum became withdrawn & slept a lot but since coming to Chapel Fields she has gained a new lease of life. She is so well cared for here and the programme of activities keeps her engaged & entertained. Mum loves to participate in the quizzes (taking over as question master at times) & loves playing games, singing & socialising so I feel I have my Mum back again. Mum's every need is catered for and the food is amazing so Mum has even regained her appetite. Five stars, excellent care.

Review of The Willows Nursing Home from Elaine B (Respite Resident) published on 30 July 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My stay at The Willows has been a very enjoyable experience; the care has been wonderful. All the staff are kind, helpful, supportive and patient. The food has been delicious. I have met so many people whom I have enjoyed chatting with. I feel able to go home and cope on the farm now, which I wouldn't of if I had not come to The Willows for a rest. Best wishes for the future and to another 30 years of service.
