A year ago my elderly mother was in a private flat and unable to cope, due to lack of mobility, severe hearing loss and mental decline. My sister and I visited several care homes in the area, and noticed how much more engaged with residents the staff at Oak Manor seemed compared to the others. That
first impression is reinforced on every visit. The staff all seem to enjoy their work and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are incredibly kind and patient with my mother, who can often be moody and difficult, and always have time to chat with me. Oak Manor is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Her room is a good size and the ensuite bathroom is always immaculately clean. One of many examples of staff going the extra mile happened on Christmas Day 2024. I'd left it too late to book a restaurant for lunch, so staff carried a dining table and chairs into the room, and served up a 3-course traditional Christmas dinner complete with table decorations! Oak Manor are a class act.

Our mother was a resident for 3 and a half years and died on Tuesday 26th August. Every member of staff we dealt with was kind supportive and gave her much love and affection.
The senior colleagues dealt with the circumstances efficiently and with the utmost empathy.

Oak Manor is a fresh, clean, bright and airy place. The staff are friendly and fun. We always feel able to approach them and feel that mum is safe and loved. On one occasion our mother suffered a bad turn and was not expected to live, the staff were finishing a 12 hr shift. They all came by at the end
of their shift and waited in line to see her for 15-20 minutes to say hi and possibly bye. It was so touching. It is a lovely place and we feel very lucky to have found it. Our mum is very happy there.

Following a fall, which fractured a hip, my mum has been cared for and rehabilitated in conjunction with a physiotherapist, with the utmost care and compassion. She is determined to walk on her own again, and often forgets she has had a hip replacement. Not to single anyone out particularly, but thanks

My dad has been a resident at Oak Manor for almost 6 years now, I cannot express enough how well my dad is looked after, every member of staff are so friendly and always take the time to speak to dad, make him laugh and have banter with him even though he has very limited speech and is very deaf. Oak Manor, Shefford is an exemplary Care Home. We cannot speak highly enough about the wonderful manager and her staff.
Sadly Mum wasn't a resident for very long. However, every single member of staff (especially the carers but also all the other staff) were caring, kind, thoughtful, gentle and compassionate
towards not only our Mum but also myself and my brother. Mum passed away peacefully in a lovely bedroom surrounded by some of her personal belongings and I was able to be at her bedside the whole time.
Oak Manor is maintained with the utmost care and attention. The environment is homely, the food is delicious, the staff appear to enjoy working there and, by their own admission, are like one big happy family. They genuinely 'care' about their residents and want it to feel like 'home'. They engage with the residents and the regular activities enhance their quality of life.
A big thank you to the manager and all her staff. We wouldnt hesitate in recommending Oak Manor.

I have no words to express my gratitude to everyone who made Vaisakhi so special for mum. A very important Sikh celebration. One staff member collected a special meal from London Sweet Center and even paid for it to treat Mum. Another staff member and others on their shift decorated her room with lights
etc. Mum was overwhelmed. Thank you so much to everyone at Oak Manor. Place my mum calls her home.

I would just like to say how amazing Anjulita Court is. My Auntie is in there and has been in there since the end of December. She has settled really well and is happy. Her room is lovely, the facilities are great, she loves books, there is a library. I was particularly impressed with the research they
did. They wanted to know all about Auntie as a person, not just a client, her likes and dislikes, her past and present, her interests, her achievements etc. She is not just a number on a door, she's a person.
The staff, what can I say, are professional, highly trained, really efficient, really good at their job but also, incredibly kind, caring, funny, they interact with the clients in a way that goes above and beyond their job description. I and my family would like to say a huge, thank you.

Anjulita Court in general is a very well-run care home with amazing staff. The level of care shown to my mother has been exceptional, particularly by the whole care team on Mill. My mother has some complex needs and the staff deal with this brilliantly, accommodating those needs with empathy and care.
I am always updated on her well-being. Everything is always very clean, the food is very good and the staff are warm and friendly. I have experienced a few care homes over the years and Anjulita is by far one of the best I have seen. It gives me great peace of mind knowing my mother is safe and very well looked after. Although I am a friend, I am next of kin to a husband and wife who went into Anjulita Court in May 2023. Every time I went to visit them, they both said they were so happy there and well cared for and they loved the meals. It is such good value for money. Sadly the husband died suddenly just before
Christmas, but their care and support of his wife has been amazing. I know that and the support of another friend who lives there has been a great help to her. The husband wasn't always easy due to dementia, but their care of them both has been above and beyond. I have visited many care homes but Anjulita Court has been the best one I have seen. The manager and staff have always been very caring and helpful to me as well.

As a family, we are very happy with the care that Mum is given. The staff are always very attentive and helpful. They are professional and keen to do everything to make Mum happy and comfortable.
Last year Mum had a cut on her leg. We were informed about it immediately and were well supported during
the time when Mum had to go to hospital and during her subsequent recovery.
In summary, we are very pleased with the care home and would happily recommend it to others.

I can not speak highly enough about this home. My Dad was in respite while my partner and I went away for 12 days and the care was second to none. It is clean, tidy, warm and the staff were exceptionally warm and friendly. The admin staff, special mention to one man who could not have been more helpful.
My dad only has mobility issues and no dementia concerns and he has said that he would be more than happy to revisit when we have a few days away in the future. We just wanted him to be safe as even though he lives with us and is fairly independent his mobility and stability are not good and he frequently falls. This gives us peace of mind whilst we are away.
Even though my dad did not take part in any activities, his choice, I know from the program that there is more than enough to keep residents occupied.
We have already pencilled in some future dates.
