Dad moved in to Laurel Court in December 2025. We cannot praise all the staff enough for the seamless way dad has settled in. All staff have been so friendly & professional and so caring. Dad is familiar with everyone and we can tell when we visit that he is happy there. They also have a laugh with
him & know what he is interested in. Managent & staff are so approachable,& everything we have requested has been dealt with quickly & efficiently. We cant praise everyone at Laurel Court enough.

Home from Home.
For those of you who are at the time to find a home for your loved one, look no further.
It is a very difficult decision but necessary when extra care is needed.
Handsworth was recommended to me and what a great choice. My mother deserves to be looked after as she looked after us.
We feel so blessed that mum is in great care in a great environment. The staff are excellent, attentive and caring.
Thank you.

The Home is very well presented and is maintained to a consistently good standard supported by caring, friendly staff. The management team are easily approachable and deal with enquiries quickly and efficiently. Meals are prepared on site by a professional catering team and are of excellent quality
whilst residents have a very good weekly programme of entertainment and engagement which is delivered by dedicated staff. Overall, this care home provides a safe, secure and pleasant environment and it has a nice 'family' feel to it.
Moving mum into a care home was a tough decision but any reservations we had were quickly dispelled due to the above. Would definitely recommend.

We would like to thank all the staff at Beechville that have looked after Mum. Since her accident and hospital stay, she has gained superb strength both physically and cognitively and has a new lease of life with all the things she can do for herself. It has been a tonic for her and a comfort for me
to know she was being well looked after.

In November, Dad, aged 92, contracted sepsis and was taken to hospital where we were informed he was not likely to survive 24 hours. Thankfully after excellent care he was declared fit enough to be discharged. However Dad was now frail with complex needs and would have needed full time nurses and
carers to support him at his home. So, we made the decision to find him the best care home possible. And we did - we found Handsworth!
We did visit other care homes and whilst they were doing their best, they were nowhere near as wonderful as Handsworth has proved to be. We feel so blessed that they were able to accommodate Dad. His room is nicely furnished and comfortable. The Home is well cared for and the food is excellent. The staff are really impressive -everyone of them from the management to the caterers and cleaners. But the biggest accolades are reserved for the brilliant carers. They have truly improved Dad's quality of life and health and for that we are grateful beyond words.
Reply from Julia Ronan, Home Manager at HandsworthThank you so much for your beautiful words and for sharing your family's journey with us. We know how frightening and emotional this time must have been for you all, and we feel truly honoured that you chose Handsworth to support your Dad.
It means so much to hear that your Dad's comfort, wellbeing, and quality of life have improved. Your kind comments about our home, food and team - especially our carers - will be shared with everyone, as they will be deeply touched by your appreciation.
Thank you again for placing your trust in us. It is a privilege to care for your Dad and to be part of your family's journey.

I think all the staff here are wonderful, can't thank them enough for the care of my mother, who passed away there this week. We have smiled and cried together and I will never forget any of their faces. Its been funny and sad, they couldn't have done anymore as far as I am concerned, they all have
hearts of gold, and made the last years of my mums life (Jean) a comfortable and happy one. God be with you all and bless you!

Dignity care & compassion abound at Handsworth. Cleanliness & good practice are consistently evident. It is always an uplifting atmosphere to enter being greeted with genuine warmth, interest & good humour.
The activities are varied, inclusive & stimulating.
At a stage of life when Dad can feel
diminished he is made to feel that he matters here. Sincere appreciation & admiration goes to all the hard working staff.

I have nothing but praise for Laurel Court. Mum has been here for 8 months and has received the best care. The staff are wonderful, friendly, kind and caring. They are always smiling and happy to have a chat. It took Mum a little while to settle in, which is normal as it's such a huge change from living
at home, but she sees Laurel Court as home now. She joins in the various activities especially music, crafts and bingo and recently celebrated her 90th birthday which they made very special for her. We feel so lucky to have found such a lovely place for Mum where we know she is well looked after and happy.

Epworth Grange

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Epworth Grange was Mum's home for the last three and a half years of her life until she died this year at the age of 96. She moved into the home following a fall, and although she was then already frail, the staff were wonderful in accommodating her changing needs.

Mum's room was warm and comfortable,

and kept spotlessly clean by the diligent support staff. A good choice of food was offered, along with regular cups of tea!

Great care was taken by the senior staff when administering medications. The home has close contact with a good medical practice, with an experienced and sensitive doctor frequently visiting.

Another plus for the home is the wonderful chaplaincy service provided by Fiona, and the varied social programme organised by Michaela. Adjacent to the home is a thriving Methodist church, which provides support each Sunday for any residents wanting to attend a service.

My family were very pleased with the service provided by Epworth Grange, and would strongly recommend it.

Mum went into this care home for respite for five weeks They could not have done enough for her, she has never stopped talking about her experience especially about the activity with the babies and tenor singer. I would recommend this care home and have nothing but praise for all the staff. Would definitely
use them again in the future if we can.
Reply from Julia Ronan, Home Manager at HandsworthThank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We're delighted to hear that your mum had such a positive experience during her five week respite stay. It's lovely to know how much she enjoyed the activities, especially the baby sessions and the performance from our tenor singer, which are favourites among many of our residents. Your kind words mean a great deal to our whole team. We're committed to providing a supportive and engaging environment for every person we care for, and it's heart-warming to hear we made such a difference to your mum.
We truly appreciate your recommendation, and we would be honoured to welcome her back again in the future, if the need arises.

This carehome is the standard that should be set for ALL other carehomes. It has strong and thoughtful leadership as well as staff who without exception are angels. My mother was resident for 18 months prior to her passing away. The quality of care my mother received from everyone connected to the home
was better than first class. Indeed the quality of care was not only first class but the the way the carehome facilities such as lounge, dining room, garden and bedroom as well as regular activities showed the highest quality of care was achieved. I have nothing but praise for Handsworth Carehome and thank them with all my heart for looking after my mum so well in the last 18 months of her life.
Reply from Julia Ronan, Home Manager at HandsworthThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It truly means a great deal to all of us here at Handsworth to know that your mum felt cared for, valued, and comfortable during her time with us. We feel very privileged to have supported her over the past 18 months and to have shared in so many special moments together. Your appreciation will be passed on to our whole team - they will be deeply touched to know their compassion and dedication made such a positive difference. On behalf of everyone at Handsworth, thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for trusting us with your mum's care.

My sister has stayed at Handsworth three times now for residential respite and we both feel SO safe and reassured when she's there. The actual property is pretty, well maintained and welcoming. The staff are all incredible. So supportive and so loving towards my sister. They always share photos of her
and she always looks so full of joy. She loves the staff, the food, the fabulous and stimulating activities and the fact that she gets to be away from me for a while! I can enjoy my break with no concerns or worries about her. I too feel cared for and listened to by the staff. Handsworth and it's staff are an absolute treasure and we are both so grateful to have them. HUGE THANKS to everyone involved for making my sister feel so at home and allowing me to have a worry free break from my caring role. She always comes home happy and well cared for, full of stories about the lovely stay she has had xxx

My sister has been a resident in Beechville since December 2024. All the staff and carers have treated her with so much kindness, patience and loyalty. She has had help, the utmost care and understanding in what has been a very difficult part of her life and has been given lots of smiles, encouragement
, good company and friendship. I can only say how much we both will miss all the staff here who have looked after her so well and have endeavoured to find the right care for her needs.
The management team have always been cheerful, helpful and sympathetic to our needs. Telephone calls have always been answered quickly and current information given. Visiting has always been welcomed.
