Overall l, to date, my experience of the care home and care package my Dad has received has been a good one.
The most important thing for me is the safety, comfort and wellbeing of Dad and as mentioned this has been very pleasing.
Dad is well looked after, the staff treat him with respect and dignity
and I have no concerns in relation to him being happy and loved.
The management and staff are always friendly, helpful and approachable. Whenever I've had a concern ive felt satisfied this will be addressed.
Dad is happy here and thats the main thing.
This is all a new experience for me but having the comfort in knowing Dad is safe, well and looked after eases any additional unnecessary worry that comes hand in hand with dementia.
I'd be happy to recommend this home to anyone else going through the same experience as me and dad.

Mum arrived at Beechville in December 2025, when my dad who was her main carer fell ill and was not in a position to continue. Initially there under respite, she settled well and with support from ASC and the Beechville team we realised that round the clock care was definitely what was required and
a permanent place was allocated. I cannot say how fantastic the Management and team were during this time whilst our family also navigated the stressful situation we found ourselves in both with mum and dad. Their support made the transition so much easier and they did their utmost to attend to mums/our needs, always making time for us, listening to what we had to say and making sure action was taken where possible. Since then theyve got to know mum and the care and love shown is genuine. Entrusting someone you love to the care of others is never easy. Finding a place with staff you can genuinely trust is everything, and we couldn't be more relieved and thankful to have found Beechville.
Reply from Larissa Goddard, Home Manager at BeechvilleThank you so much for taking the time to share your family's experience with Beechville. Thank you for your trust and confidence in our team. We appreciate the responsibility that comes with caring for a loved one, and we remain committed to ensuring your mum continues to receive the highest standard of care, support, and companionship.

My wife initially accessed the respite services at Beechville when I require a stay in hospital. The way staff at Beechville facilitated my wife's transition was exceptional. It became clear that my wife required continued support after respite.
The experiences we wittnessed during the respite period
provide overwhelming confidence on this being a more permanent placement.
The love, care and compassion shown is palpable and a testamony to the quality of care and support my wife receives.
As I've had to navigate my way through this new challenging experience, I have also been supported by the staff which has helped me personally.
Reply from Larissa Goddard, Home Manager at BeechvilleThank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about the team at Beechville. We are delighted to hear that both you and your wife felt supported during what we appreciate has been a significant and challenging transition. We also recognise that this journey affects family members as well as residents. We are pleased that our team has been able to provide you with support and guidance during this time, and we remain committed to being here for both of you. Thank you once again for your thoughtful feedback and for placing your trust in Beechville. It is a privilege to support your wife and to be part of her ongoing journey.

I have always found the staff at Beechville to be respectful, kind and caring towards my friend and us as a family. There are plenty of age appropriate activities provided, which my friend enjoys. The management team are always open to suggestions and are willing to help in any way possible to improve
my friend's quality of life and to make her as comfortable as possible. I have, in general found the home in a clean condition. Occasionally I have requested an additional shampoo of the bedroom carpet. I feel Beechville provides it's residents with a warm and homely environment. On occasions I feel communication could have been better, but on the whole I am kept informed of anything significant. Occasionally I feel medical intervention could have been sought in a more timely fashion. However, I feel we, as a family are always supported, particularly during recent periods of illness. My friend considers Beechville her home and thoroughly enjoys being a member of the Beechville family.
Reply from Larissa Goddard, Home Manager at BeechvilleThank you for your kind feedback. We are so pleased to hear that your friend feels happy and at home at Beechville, and that you have found our team to be caring and supportive. It's wonderful to know the activities and environment are making a positive difference. We also appreciate your constructive comments regarding communication and the timeliness of medical intervention. Please be assured we take this seriously and will continue to review and improve in these areas. Thank you again for your support and trust in Beechville.

I have always found the care given to my father at Handsworth as very good. He always has clean clothes, is shaved every day and has regular showers. The carers do a brilliant job in often difficult circumstances, for example, due to sickness or leave absence, when they are under pressure and resources
are stretched. I appreciate dad's care, even more so of late, as he is unable to feed himself or communicate properly and is incontinent. The carers are so patient with him and do a fantastic job. The kitchen staff have to purée his meals and do a great job of making them tasty and dad seems to enjoy them.
Reply from Julia Ronan, Home Manager at HandsworthThank you for your lovely feedback and for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that you are happy with the care your father receives at Handsworth. Your kind words about our care and kitchen teams mean a great deal and will be shared with them. It is especially rewarding to know that your father continues to be cared for with dignity, patience, and compassion as his needs change. Thank you for your continued trust and support.

My mum has been a resident for nearly 4 years and we are so grateful for the excellent care she has received during that time. Of particular note is the welcome and attention she was given after a terrible experience waiting many hours for transport back to Handsworth. So many of the staff came and
made a fuss of her (and me) and a hot drink and food were immediately provided. It was such a relief for us both after a difficult time and I was confident that when I left she was completely safe and looked after.
It is hard to single out the best part of her life there, the staff 'get her' and frequently make particular food she has mentioned; her involvement in activities is now limited but she is always included and loves the visits of the children with 'songs and smiles'. Thank you so much.
Reply from Julia Ronan, Home Manager at HandsworthThank you so much for your lovely review and for trusting us with your mum's care over the last four years. We are delighted to hear that both you and your mum felt supported, especially following what must have been a very difficult and exhausting day. Providing comfort, reassurance and a warm welcome is something our team takes great pride in. It means so much to hear that our colleagues know your mum so well and continue to find ways to make her smile, whether through her favourite foods or special activities such as Songs and Smiles. Thank you for your kind words and continued support.

My uncle was in the home for almost 5 years. From the age of 100 to only 5 months from being 105. He was profoundly deaf since being only 8 years old. The care he received at Handsworth was wonderful. The staff were loving and caring and thoughtful. He was always kept clean and smart looking. The food
was carefully chosen and well presented. He was treated as if he was their uncle/grandad. It was truly a home for him.
My sister or I went to visit at least 5 times each week - so we were well aware of the atmosphere there. We were so fortunate to have found Handsworth.
Reply from Julia Ronan, Home Manager at HandsworthThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It was a privilege to care for your uncle during his time at Handsworth. Reaching almost 105 years of age is an incredible achievement, and we are honoured to have been part of his journey for the last five years. We are delighted that you felt he was treated with the love, kindness, and respect he deserved. Knowing that Handsworth felt like a true home to him, and that our team cared for him as if he were one of their own family members, means so much to us. Thank you for the trust you and your sister placed in us and for your regular visits, which helped us get to know your uncle and your family so well. Your lovely feedback will be shared with the team and will mean a great deal to them.

The staff are very caring. It would be good if the Activity Schedule was released on-line, consistently each week.
My sister has a meal there twice each week as she travels from Burnley. She said that she was more than ready for the winter menu to come to an end. She speaks highly of the quality of
food when the Activities Manager is on days off I would like to see more done to entertain residents. Entry and exit still difficult at week-end
Reply from Larissa Goddard, Home Manager at BeechvilleThank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are very pleased to hear your kind comments about our caring staff and the quality of the food provided within the home. It is lovely to know your sister enjoys her meals with us and speaks highly of the catering team. We understand the importance of keeping families informed and will work towards ensuring the weekly activities schedule is shared online more consistently. We also recognise the importance of meaningful engagement for our residents every day, including when the Activities Coordinator is off duty, and we are reviewing how we can further enhance activities and entertainment across the week. We are pleased to share that our seasonal menu updates are regularly reviewed to provide more variety and choice for residents and visitors alike. We are sorry to hear that entry and exit to the home remains difficult at weekends. Your comments have been noted and we will continue to look at ways to improve the visitor experience.

Handsworth has given my friend the quality of life he absolutely deserves after having to make a very hard decision to sell his home to begin a new life here, EVERYTHING is on point to giving the best care, he has been living a life of comfort here for approximately 18 months, it is completely reassuring
to know he is being cared for with dignity, kindness, in a safe and happy homely environment, all the staff are truly amazing on every level, Handsworth in my opinion is the very best home for excellence in exceptional care.

This is the third time that my sister has stayed at Handsworth Care Home to allow us both some respite. She loves it there and I love her being there. The security of driving away knowing she is loved and cared for by all of the lovely staff is so reassuring. We are both made to feel so welcome every
time. The level of respect and care is outstanding - her room is always lovely and the food is superb. I don't believe she even misses me :) :) I get photos whilst she's there doing some wonderful activities and her smile and joy just shines out and she always comes home with photos to keep and her craft creations. I would never hesitate to recommend Handsworth to anyone. It truly is a special place with beautiful and caring humans. The understanding everyone has of Julie's needs, her personality and her favourite things is amazing. I wouldn't mind a stay there myself but then I don't think I'd ever go home. HUGE THANKS to everyone. WE LOVE YOU xxx

My mum moved into Epworth Grange at the end of November 2025. She was suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's and had made the decision herself that it was the right time to move out of the family home. From the moment that she moved into Epworth Grange she was treated with love, care and dignity. Unfortunately
she fell and broke her hip and the trauma from the accident and operation accelerated her dementia and physical decline. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for how well she was looked after up until the very last moment that she passed away. Every single member of staff I had any interaction with was incredible. From management to care staff; from the cleaners to the cooks. I cannot recommend Epworth Grange highly enough.
