Since bringing my sister to this home for respite care her appearance & health has improved dramatically due to the excellent care & attention given to her by the staff / management at Trembaths. She now is fortunate enough to be a permanent resident. We are conforted that she is in a safe & healthy environment & is receiving a regular well balanced healthy diet.

Overall Experience
Mum was extremely reluctant to go into a Care Home, but after a couple of respite stays, she was happy to move in permanently. The reason for her change of mind were the staff- they are helpful, friendly, caring, kind and above all professional. She was so impressed that even after a short stay, they all knew her name and she always got a warm reception. Now she is a permanent resident, she is enjoying her new life because there are so many varied daily activities to attend; crossword club, quizzes, flower arranging, etc., as well as having her nails done weekly! For us as a family, we are reassured she is being well looked after; we get updates of her regular weekly doctor's visit and any issues. Whenever we visit, we get a warm welcome from all the staff and can see firsthand how caring they are towards the residents.
Elmside is well run by the managers who not only set the lovely tone and atmosphere but are efficient in dealing with any queries and concerns.

Amazing! From the moment my aunt was here. She was happy, well looked after and nothing was to much trouble. Even making some of her wishes came true, to play a harp, have a tatoo (fake). We are always made welcome. The place is spotless and so homely.

Overall Experience
My mum-in-law came to reside at Trembaths in February 2026. The care she receives is outstanding, very person centred. All staff show care, compassion and commitment in their roles. We, as a family, are reassured that mum is safe and secure and her needs are all being met, even wen she requests a different meal choice or a piece of furniture in her room, this is always met with a willingness to achieve her wishes.

Overall Experience
My mother settled quickly into the home and still feels settled two years on. The staff are friendly, welcoming and are upbeat when I visit, and I know mum says she is well looked after.
They have activities each week and she is taken to church every Sunday, where she has been a member for many many years. She enjoys it when there are enough staff to take her out for a walk.
Mum likes her room and is appreciative that it has be decorated with her own personal possessions to make it feel more like home.

Review of Trembaths from Mark B (Son of Resident) published on 17 April 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
Our experience with this home has been extremely poor. One star feels generous given the number of issues we have had to raise and the formal complaints we have had to submit. Across multiple areas of my mum's care, we saw repeated failures in communication, basic care and record keeping. The provider has even admitted by email they "cannot guarantee the accuracy of every entry made" in their own records, which raises serious concerns about safety and oversight. We also found contradictions between what staff told us and what was written in care plans, especially around nutrition, capacity and daily care. These inconsistencies made it impossible to trust that my mum's needs were being properly understood or met. On several occasions, we discovered serious issues ourselves rather than being informed.
Families rely on care homes to provide safe, consistent, transparent care. That has not been our experience. My advice: Look elsewhere.

I write as a visitor. Although my Husband spent 2 years in this same care home, he had dementia and was always treated with respect. I cannot speak too highly of it. Recently my friend was admitted as she is elderly and unable to cope at home. I am pleased to say that she is very pleased with the care she receives and she does look so much better in herself.

Overall Experience
I moved into Trembaths Care Home three weeks ago. I am ninty one and recovering from a hospital stay and time in my own home. I only had use of my right side. Due to the first class care I have received I have slowly recovered use of my left side and I am slowly learning to walk again. I can only say I am happier then at any other time since my illness. This care home is first class people who work here are skilled and kind, my every wish is granted. I've been helped in every way possible, my dads are filled with activities I enjoy especially the music. All my medical needs are taken care of and my visitors welcomed, I cannot speak to highly of this wonderful resource.

Overall Experience
My mother has been at Trembaths for nearly two years since being discharged from hospital in need of nursing care and 24-hour oxygen. The care she has received at Trembaths has been exceptional, and her underlying medical conditions have been, and are being, managed to an exceptional standard. She joins in with all activities, despite being in a wheelchair and on oxygen. She also enjoys the company of the other residents, the care staff and volunteers. Trembaths is a top-class nursing home which I would recommend to any prospective resident.

My husband has been a resident at Trembaths for 2 years. The staff are excellent, very caring towards the residents and supportive to their families. My husband was admitted to the hospital in December and after a 4 week stay returned to Trembaths, where staff have done an amazing job returning him back to his old self.

Well when I heard how much the monthly fee was I was stunned. However, having visited Trembath on two occasions, I think it is money well spent. The food is good, tasty and well cooked and smells delicious. All the staff that we saw were polite, cheerful and absolutely care for their clients. The care home manager is brilliant, very easy to chat to, he took us on a trip round the home, including the dementia suit. It is so well set out. Very peaceful. Nicely dedocrated and the clients are obviously settled.
