Review of

Trembaths

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
Our experience with this home has been extremely poor. One star feels generous given the number of issues we have had to raise and the formal complaints we have had to submit. Across multiple areas of my mum's care, we saw repeated failures in communication, basic care and record keeping. The provider
has even admitted by email they "cannot guarantee the accuracy of every entry made" in their own records, which raises serious concerns about safety and oversight.
We also found contradictions between what staff told us and what was written in care plans, especially around nutrition, capacity and daily care. These inconsistencies made it impossible to trust that my mum's needs were being properly understood or met. On several occasions, we discovered serious issues ourselves rather than being informed.
Families rely on care homes to provide safe, consistent, transparent care. That has not been our experience. My advice: Look elsewhere.
Reply from Mandy Carey, Area Manager at TrembathsWe are sorry you feel this way about the care your loved one received as it is a different experience to other reviewers.

My husband John had a short but most enjoyable stay at this lovely care home. The staff and management were very friendly and caring. He was involved in all the entertainment. The food was excellent.

I visit my friend from time to time when possible. I feel that she is well looked after and the care is good. She wonders a lot, but is observed and with care and dignity.

I write as a visitor. Although my Husband spent 2 years in this same care home, he had dementia and was always treated with respect. I cannot speak too highly of it. Recently my friend was admitted as she is elderly and unable to cope at home. I am pleased to say that she is very pleased with the care
she receives and she does look so much better in herself.

I moved into Trembaths Care Home three weeks ago. I am ninty one and recovering from a hospital stay and time in my own home. I only had use of my right side. Due to the first class care I have received I have slowly recovered use of my left side and I am slowly learning to walk again. I can only say
I am happier then at any other time since my illness. This care home is first class people who work here are skilled and kind, my every wish is granted. I've been helped in every way possible, my dads are filled with activities I enjoy especially the music. All my medical needs are taken care of and my visitors welcomed, I cannot speak to highly of this wonderful resource.

My mother has been at Trembaths for nearly two years since being discharged from hospital in need of nursing care and 24-hour oxygen. The care she has received at Trembaths has been exceptional, and her underlying medical conditions have been, and are being, managed to an exceptional standard. She joins
in with all activities, despite being in a wheelchair and on oxygen. She also enjoys the company of the other residents, the care staff and volunteers. Trembaths is a top-class nursing home which I would recommend to any prospective resident.

My husband has been a resident at Trembaths for 2 years. The staff are excellent, very caring towards the residents and supportive to their families. My husband was admitted to the hospital in December and after a 4 week stay returned to Trembaths, where staff have done an amazing job returning him
back to his old self.

Well when I heard how much the monthly fee was I was stunned. However, having visited Trembath on two occasions, I think it is money well spent. The food is good, tasty and well cooked and smells delicious. All the staff that we saw were polite, cheerful and absolutely care for their clients. The care
home manager is brilliant, very easy to chat to, he took us on a trip round the home, including the dementia suit. It is so well set out. Very peaceful. Nicely dedocrated and the clients are obviously settled.

Trembaths is an excellent care home, the staff are extremely kind to both family and those in their care. I am pleased to say the food has improved very much although it could still do with more improving. Activities are limited and could be looked to see if different things could be included. Management
is excellent and always ready to help family.

Reply from Grainne Wokes, Home Manager at ElmsideThank you for your feedback. We value all feedback and would welcome the opportunity to get further feedback on your concerns around food and drink. We have commenced meetings with our residents and their families to discuss food and look at ways we can make improvements to meet the wishes of everyone in the service. Ever since I went to Trembaths I have been treated as part of a loving family, although it is my husband who is the resident. My husbands care & comfort have been exceptional in every way. The kindness of all , including cleaners as well as carers has been lovely, both to him & all our family. I thank
god he is where he is & although I miss him, I no longer worry about him. Thank you to everyone.

We are so happy that our dad is in Trembaths. He is so well looked after and cared for. He has had fewer issues and infections since having their 24-hour care. The staff are, without exception, friendly, kind, caring and respectful, to both him and other members of our family. The manager has gone above
and beyond, with support and advice on dealing with various agencies. We can't thank them enough.

My brother was admitted to Elmside Residential Home from hospital in Hamstead London. He fell in his bedroom and was taken to hospital where he died, having broken his leg, together with other complications. Sadly he only had a very short time at Elmside from admission to death but the family could
clearly see Elmside was excellent.

I viewed six homes in the area for a wonderful lady with dementia who was my neighbour. The two ladies are truly exceptional managers, complemented by the office and grounds staff. The homes I saw with the exception of Elmside struggled to achieve a welcoming, kind atmosphere. They had less light, their
gardens were not beautiful, they didn't always smell fresh and the staff felt as if they were struggling, dispirited or were watching the clock for the end of shift. Staff at Elmside are mostly young, clearly carefully chosen, caring. I would wish for Elmside's care if things change.

My Mother is 99 and moved to Trembaths in mid-December 2024. She was in a state of shock after a flood in her flat in October and made an emergency move to live with two daughters one after another. She is now settling down and gaining her confidence back under the care and help she is now getting.
