My mother Eileen moved into Maple Leaf @ Ripley August 2th 2026. She moved from another care home, as they could not meet her needs. Maple Leaf have been excellent with mum's care. They are kind, patient, understand her needs, likes and dislikes. This has had a huge impact on mum. There are a lot less outbursts. Mum is a lot happier, back to singing. Look clean and tidy. Thank you to all the staff.

My husband has been a resident at Maple Leaf House for five years. Staff provide expert care to a high standard and the well-being of residents is at the heart of all they do. Residents enjoy a wide range of activities and visiting entertainers. The staff work hard to ensure time spent at Maple Leaf is as enjoyable as possible. I could not wish for a better care home.

My husband only spent a short time at Maple Leaf House before his death. It was a difficult time leading up to him moving in but it was a great relief to find a place where he was looked after with such care and compassion and I had peace of mind knowing that he was being cared for day and night. Maple Leaf house is bright and cheerful and the staff are hardworking and always welcoming. They did everything they could to make Mike's last few days as calm and peaceful as possible and I can never thank them enough for that.

My mother was resident at Moorland House for 18 months until she passed earlier this month. The standard of care and affection that the staff showed to mum was outstanding. Especially during her final days.

During dad's final couple of weeks, as he deteriorated quickly, staff were extremely supportive and always available for a chat. They showed genuine care, not just for dad, but us too. As he drew close to the end, we wanted to stay with him night and day. This was no problem at all. We were brought extra chairs, blankets and pillows, offered camp beds and were looked after with food and drinks. We were made to feel part of the family and dad was looked after with such care and dignity, able to pass away peacefully with his family by his side. We cannot fault anything of our experience. At such a sad difficult time, we were all cared for with love and dignity.

The care home very rarely smells of urine, and is always clean and tidy. The recent upgrading of the home has been beautifully painted.

My mum is in the advanced stages of dementia and receiving palliative care; she has been bedridden for over a year. She moved into Maple Leaf House in June this year, and in just a few short weeks, I have been absolutely amazed by the difference in her.

She has been able to have her feet cared for, and her hair cut and styled. But most wonderful of all is seeing her now dressed in her own clothes, sitting upright in a chair, and joining the other residents in the lounge. It brings me such joy to see her part of things again.

Her room is lovely and bright, with a huge window looking out over the beautiful rose garden. Music has always been her great love, and I am so grateful that it is always playing gently in her room.

Every single member of staff has been truly wonderful. They have done everything possible to make my mum comfortable and to give her dignity, happiness, and the best possible quality of life.

I went to the relatives' meeting this week, and the manager took us around the home to see all the new decorations. It's beautiful and a lot of thought has gone into it. The carers and volunteers are wonderful and so caring, nothing is too much. There are activities arranged every day, and inclusive of all. I'm so pleased I found this home for my husband.

I have been a volunteer for nearly a year now. The residents receive the best care possible and the carers go above and beyond and meet all of the residents needs. The residents are treated with dignity and respect.The home its self is always kept tidy and clean and it's home like in the lounges so that residents can relax. There are many activities/entertainment that all residents can participate in so no one is ever left out. The management and domestics are an amazing team and get involved with the residents. The facilities are a good value for money there are taster days that happen so residents get to try different foods and also coffee and cake in the coffee shop and lounges that they can have anytime. No resident is left hungry or without a drink, they are very well looked after. Families also get the support they need when visiting loved ones and get dealt with respectfully. All of the staff are amazing and this home and team are both certainly great.

I am so proud of the way that the carers and staff have coped during all the work being carried out at Maple Leaf, decorating and new flooring, and a general upgrading of the public areas at the home. There has been a lot of disruption, and each wing in turn has been 'evacuated' while the decorators and then the carpet fitters were carrying out that work. There is still work to do, but we are all looking forward to seeing the final result. Well done to you all.

2. One carer Mum said was rough and caused bruising. I could establish the name of this person but said she had not been seen since the incident by that person. Otherwise really happy. Cake and card on birthday was a nice touch. I feel she is in good hands.

What could have been a very traumatic experience has been made so much easier because of the care from Moorland House.

When I moved my cousin to Moorland House over 2 years ago her first comment opening the door was "it's lovely and warm". She'd been very attached to her house for 50 years but couldn't cope even with 3 carer visits a day.

It is most important now that she regards Moorland House as her true home. The rooms are excellent including high ceilings. The home is in a beautiful area and she is fortunate to have a fine view. There is a spacious garden too.

She needed a high level of care initially but as she adjusted and her health improved she has moved through medium to a low assessment which has helped with the fees. She'd become very confused running her own home and her mental health has improved in Moorland House. She feels very well looked after and is happy and articulate.

The home is well organised and the care staff (day and night) very responsive. Recent redecoration and improvements show management really listen to the residents and help to maintain overall quality.

My mum's room is very nice, however I do feel the home has a number of maintenance issues which need addressing i.e. the heating. My mum is cold in the mornings and has a portable heater to rectify this however she cannot see to put this on and is reliant on staff to do this for her. The majority of staff are brilliant. However, I do think communication and processes could be improved such as ordering medication and passing on messages and actioning these. There are long waits for medication which you could buy over the counter, I don't know why this happens. The food has improved since this was discussed at the relative's meeting however the quality isn't consistent. This review may seem negative however the home is warm and welcoming and the staff are lovely. Sometimes it's the small things that make a big difference.

Mum is in a safe environment. We know that she is being looked after and cared for. We don't have to worry about her having a fall at home. There are many activities for her to get involved in. The home is in a lovely setting too

Mum has been resident in Moorland House now for over four years. She has been looked after really well by the management and staff, who treat her with a lot of dignity in a friendly, caring atmosphere. It's reassuring to know that Mum is checked on and has her needs met day and night. She is very content and feels really at home, especially in her room which is clean and bright with a great view. For visiting relatives and residents alike, it's like an extended family. We all enjoy the extra efforts the staff make at different times of the year to offer outdoor and indoor special events. Staff are also attentive to requests or comments that are made by relatives. Many thanks.

Mum has been a long term resident (10 years) at Moorland house. Following some years of poor management and declining standards at the home the situation is now rapidly changing under the refreshing efforts of an excellent new manager (and team). I'm sure there are still improvements to be made but already the change is dramatic and the home feels like a supporting caring environment again where the physical standards of the home and the staff engagement are now returning to the high standards that the residents deserve. Moorland House feels like a good place for mum to live and we have confidence that her physical, mental and spiritual needs are being very well looked after. We are greatly relieved to see the renewed energy and focus in the house from the management team and have great confidence that over the next few years Moorland House will be an excellent care home.
