The team looked after our mother for her end of-life-care and we can only say how thankful and grateful we are to them . Their care was exemplary in a complex situation both for our mother and us. Always present if needed and across the whole team thoughtful and kind in every interaction . Nothing was
too much trouble and we could see this extended to all the residents. With lovely open country views and a homely feel Cedar Lodge is quite different to the more corporate style care homes we were more familiar with.

Thank you for your beautiful compliments. It was a pleasure to take mum into our care. We strive to continue giving person centred care and I am glad we managed to deliver that to mum. Thank you for the family support you gave us and mum, which was great throughout. I have shared your lovely words with the team and they were all touched by your kindness.

My mother was admitted to Cedar Lodge for end of life care. This was obviously traumatic for her and the family.
She was treated with care and compassion by the staff at all times.
As a nurse I was impressed by the standard of care offered plus the patience and kindness of the staff.
They supported
mum and us. We were kept well informed at all times.
The ambience is friendly with staff chatting to visitors, residents and each other, this creates a relaxed and homely feel.
The home is spotlessly clean and I noted the cleaner would stop for a chat with the residents after the room had been cleaned, I thought this was lovely and an indication management prioritised the well being of residents.
The home is clearly well managed and communication between the team members is excellent.

I would fully recommend Cedar Lodge to anyone looking for a caring, professional home for their loved ones. We looked around quite a few in the area and this one stood out, visible carers, caring for Residents, even one of the cleaners stopped when we looked around and said hello to us. It is such a
welcoming place. Very clean, organised and well run. The Manager is very active and visible there, she runs this as a home from home, and that they are one big happy family. All the Staff are welcoming and friendly and have the patience of Saints. I spent quite a lot of time here with my Mum and never saw any thing negative. All staff were warm and caring. The majority of staff have worked there for years which is a lovely sign, there is a fabulous activities coordinator who had her parents in this care home, if that isn't enough of a recommendation that this is a trusted place for your loved ones to live. Visit and see for yourself, this is a lovely care home. Thank you all.

As a family, we are so happy with everything at Cedar Lodge. We know Mum is given the best care, and any medical issues, the nurses contact us and talk us through everything. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone greets you with a smile, it is just like a big family, and we are part of it. Sending Mum
in August was 100% the best thing for us. Any questions we have had, the great management team have sorted them for us. The Cedar Lodge family opened their arms and took Mum and our family in.

Thank you for your kind words. I have shared this with the team; they appreciated your compliment. Team Cedar Lodge would like to thank you for bringing your mother to our care, we feel so honoured and privileged to give her the care she needs. Knowing that the service and care we give has not gone unnoticed and motivates us to deliver more person-centred care. You mum is a lovely lady who is full of respect and a dry sense of humour, she knows the staff by their names. We are always glad to help, remember we are in this together, one big family.

Cedar Lodge is a real home from home for my mum who has been a resident since February 2024. All the staff are like one big family, supportive of each other, supportive of the residents and there is a nurtured culture of respect. Everyone is treated as an individual and very well looked after, residents
are encouraged to make decisions and choices. The safety policies are adhered to with room alarms and access & egress restrictions. Visiting mum here is great, we can have quality time together and most of all, I can tell how happy she is to be with the people who work at the home and look after her. The home has recently completed refurbishment works for a new heating system plus facilities and has newly decorated rooms and carpets. I am very grateful to have found this place for mom and rate this care home as excellent.

My mother lived at Homewood and it was a very positive experience for us all. Sadly mum passed away recently at the home and I cannot praise them enough, for their love, care and attention she received during her end of life care. She was treated with dignity and compassion. Carers sat with her when
we could not be there and nothing was too much trouble. The care we have received from both the manager and all the staff has been second to none. I would recommend Homewood without hesitation.

I cannot adequately describe the wonderful love and care my wife and I received at Cedar Lodge. All the staff I encountered be they manager, nurse, senior carer, carer, chef or cleaner generated this loving care. This is no accident. The manager deserves considerable credit. I cannot imagine a better
experience.

Our friend spent 2 years at Homewood, where she was safe, free from anxiety and very well looked after by dedicated staff members. The range of activities was wide and varied. She needed much persuasion to move to Homewood from her flat, where she was simply not able to cope. We were so relieved when
she moved, and we are very grateful to the staff.

I struggle to put into words quite how grateful we are as a family for everyone at Cedar Lodge.
The care they provide my grandmother is simply incredible.
She is always clean and tidy, is always involved in what is happening day to day and all of her individual needs (especially around food) are dealt
with without issue.
Communication is fantastic and everyone is so friendly, you always feel so welcome when visiting.
We are so lucky to have found you, thank you so much.

I have passed your kind words to the team; they were overwhelmed with your kindness, and they also want to express how grateful they are for the wonderful support you and your family give to the team. You have given our team a boost of confidence to continue providing high standards of care. Your grandmother is one special lady with great sense of humour, and she is not shy to give us a valued opinion.

When my mother's dementia increased, we tried keeping her at home with carers attending but she found this difficult with so many different people attending. I looked at 5 different possible care homes and Cedar Lodge stood out as the place mum would be happy. The manager and staff are wonderful and
treat the residents as if in their own home. It has a real homely feeling. The manager was very accommodating and provided an extra low bed for mum as she is under 5ft. They also painted the room before her arrival and helped to put her favourite pictures on the walls. The staff are all very welcoming, caring and kind. Mum has been there for 15 months and is very happy. She just celebrated her 92nd Birthday and was spoilt with the most amazing birthday cake made by the chefs. They have started music therapy which mum has enjoyed and found of great benefit. Thank you to all the staff at Cedar Lodge.

Mum has been at Homewood for around 15 months now and I cannot fault anything. The manager and all staff are very caring, friendly and kind.
Mum has been able to furnish her room with items from home and bring in her precious personal possessions. The nurse carers have all medications sorted and I
don't have to worry about doctor appointments or prescriptions anymore. From the maintenance man to the cooks and cleaners, everyone is friendly and open to help. A particular member of staff sorts all the activities out and site visits which include a wide range of animals visiting as well as all sorts of games, chair fit, pottery etc. A visiting hairdresser helps keep mum and her friends looking smart. And the weekly church services offer comfort to many. I commend all the staff for their patience, assistance and the time they spend looking after our loved ones. Thank you.

I thought it was time to write a review for everyone at Cedar Lodge. My husband moved into his new home from Cedar Lawn on the 1st of Feb 2024, having received the shocking news Cedar Lawn was closing he was very happy and settled there and didn't think it would be as good. How wrong we were, Cedar
Lodge is superb all the staff and management are exceptional, so kind to us, and always available. My husband's care is exceptional plus it is always given in a caring, kind way. We are blessed. No one every moans. The staff are always available and we both thank each and everyone at Cedar Lodge.

You and your daughter are fully involved with your husband's care and what a blessing to have you around. You have given us tools to enable us to deliver the best care to your husband and I am glad that he has found a home. The transition was made easy all because of your support. I have passed the message to the wonderful team, and all have appreciated your kind words. Your husband's happiness is of paramount importance as is for all our residents at Cedar Lodge. When our sister's dementia increased, we were able to move her from Cedar Lawn to Cedar Lodge where the love, care, and attention she received under MHA continued. All the staff treat her with dignity and understanding, giving the personal touch by using her name.
Any medical concerns are communicated
immediately. The family are warmly welcomed and is included within the community.
We appreciate the time that the Chaplain gives to our sister as she can no longer attend the services.
When our sister was more active, she enjoyed the activities provided, particularly the art and music, receiving additional individual music therapy.
Our sister's room has a light and airy feel to it. It is always clean and fresh. We have been able to personalise it with her own framed pictures.
We cannot thank everyone involved enough for their dedication and understanding.

Mum was very lonely and very frail in her own flat and her mobility was very poor. Since moving into Homewood, her mobilities have increased remarkably. I can't believe the change in Mum's mood and general wellbeing. She's mixing with people and enjoying activities. I can't thank Homewood and all the
staff for everything they've done and continue to do. You are all marvellous. Thank you. I would just like to add, it would be better if more diabetic foods were available, i.e. desserts.

Mum moved into Homewood last October following a fall at home. From the start Mum's care was exceptional, the staff are kind, patient, and professional, and clearly well supported by the manager and his team.
The activities provided are many and varied and Mum's needs and wishes are listened to thanks
to the excellent activity co-ordinator.
The home is always kept spotlessly clean, the laundry and maintenance service are very good and the food looks tasty and well-presented. Would recommend Homewood to anyone.

My Dad was at Cedar Lodge for nearly 18 months. In all that time the staff have been so caring and kind. The home has a lovely friendly and family feel. This is a home with a big heart. The staff have gone above and beyond for Dad, and my brother and I are hugely grateful for their care and compassion.
We will always remember Dad's time there with fondness and wish everyone at Cedar Lodge the very best for the future.

Thank you for your lovely compliment and thank you for allowing us to have an opportunity to look after your father. During his stay at Cedar Lodge, you and your brother always gave us much-needed support, and you were great. We would not have been able to do this without your help. We worked together from the time of admission to the time we all agreed that Dad needed a different placement, which provided and was able to meet your dad's complex care needs. We were in this together to the end. I have passed your compliment to the team who appreciated it. Dad will be remembered and thank you for the roses, we will find a perfect place to plant them as we continue to remember his stay at Cedar Lodge.

My mum came to Cedars 6 months ago. I have to say I just wished I had found it years back. My mum is now getting excellent care and her condition is understood and handled with professionalism but with such kindness, I come away knowing Mum is in the best place and I no longer have worries. The staff
on every level are just amazing full of energy which just makes the home come alive. The therapy and entertainment that are given to enhance the residents' lives are brilliant. The spiritual side of the home has been wonderful and Mum enjoys the services on a Thursday. All I ever wanted was for Mum to live the last chapters of her life with people who understood and could give her the care she needed. She has so much more at Cedar Lodge from the time she went through their doors she became part of the family. I now sleep at night knowing she is in safe hands.

Dad seems well looked after and happy. The staff are all very attentive towards the residents and work very hard. Although busy the staff try to spend time with the residents when time allows. The home is well-appointed, the lounge being a particularly nice place to sit and chat. The garden areas are
nice to sit in in the better weather and are kept tidy with lots of flowers. Everywhere is generally clean and tidy with cleaning being carried out on an almost constant basis with only very occasional lapses when there have been crumbs left after a snack. Dad enjoys the activities and has made a group of friends who are usually sat together.

The care home manager and staff made my mother feel at home, one of the family of residents from the beginning. This has made her transition to a new way of life much easier than expected and put our family's minds at ease. My mother has made new friends, including the carers and often says she is being
pampered especially when she has her hair and nails done in the salon. As her sister observed "she seems comfortable where she is and looked really well." We are forever grateful.
Reply from Christina Samudzi, Home Manager at Cedar Lodge

Thank you so much for your lovely recommendation, I have shared it with the whole team, and they were all smiles. Thank you for putting your mum into our care, and the one thing that struck us most is the way the family have involved Mum in the decision-making, to allow her to make informed choices. We worked together to allow Mum to go back home for the weekend to determine if she could cope alone at home and she made a conscious decision to stay with us at Cedar Lodge. We would like to thank you for the support and care you give to Mum; Mum has made great friends and we have seen her support others which is of great help. We will continue to endeavour to deliver person-centred care to all residents under our care and Mum is one of them.
