The home has a warm friendly active staff and resident.
It is kept clean and the staff encourages the residents to take part in the activities.

It has a lovely atmosphere and the residents look and seem happy.

The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. My mother was very happy with her care and viewed her stay as a holiday. She also said she would be happy to return again. The visitors mentioned they were happy with the respect and courtesy provided by the staff. The only minor negative point is that we had a miscommunication about the discharge date. We were under the impression that the discharge date was 4.8.26. The staff thought it was 3.8.26. We were not told about it.

Overall Experience
My wife has been at Hall Grange since mid August 2025 and I with my two sons looked at Hall Grange (together with several others) for my wife who suffers from dementia and we were all thoroughly impressed by it including the gardens, the Wilderness and the area adapted for those suffering from dementia.

This initial impression has been more than justified by sons' and my experience. I go in frequently unannounced beforehand virtually everyday. The senior carers are very knowledgeable, experienced and helpful, kind and understanding. Furthermore all the carers I encounter are extremely friendly, caring and thoughtful and from my observations there is little turnover of staff which is particularly important in the case of those suffering from dementia. The staff appear to be happy in their work. It's very impressive that virtually all the staff (not only those on my wife's floor) know her name and greet her by such when they see her. There are many activities on offer but despite concerted efforts by the staff they have been unable to get my wife who also suffering from Parkinson's disease to engage for any substantial period

I absolutely love River View Lodge The staff are always very friendly and attentive. Ann and her team are very approchable and easy to talk to and their care is second to none, The home is always spotlessly clean and residents obviously very happy. I always get a phone call if there are any concerns which are usually small things

We are so grateful for the wonderful care my dad receives. The staff are truly amazing-kind, caring, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. The home itself is warm and welcoming, with excellent facilities that make it feel comfortable and homely. Moving dad into a care home wasn't easy, but the staff made the settling-in process so much easier for both my dad and our family during what was a very stressful time. We can't thank them enough for their compassion, support, and dedication. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for exceptional care.

Review of Hall Grange from P M (Brother of Resident) published on 27 July 2026 Submitted via Website

My brother moved into Bluebell Ward for respite care over Christmas 2025 and became a permanent resident in January 2026.
The staff are all amazing , very kind and caring and my brother is safe and very well cared for.
There are varied daily activities and Fun Friday in the hub is not to be missed.
All the staff are friendly and helpful from the most senior members of staff to the most junior and know all the residents by name.

Many staff have worked there for a long time and the continuity of care is excellent ,which is very important for the residents and their families.

We moved my dad into Hall Grange due to his dementia progression. I had visited a few homes in addition to this one, and I was keen for dad to come here. The environment is great, the gardens are fabulous. The staff are incredible; dad can be very difficult but they have all been brilliant with him.
They encourage making the room as homely and familiar as needed to make the residents feel more at home.

I would have no issue recommending Hall Grange to anyone who might be looking for a care home for a loved one.

Review of Davids House from Jillian C (Wife of Resident) published on 30 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My husband has been a resident for nearly two and half years. I have confidence in all the staff of Davids House to care for my husband. Davids House is clean and comfortable, a lovely garden where residents can go with support of a carer. The meals from the kitchen meet the needs of the individual residents. The Chef bakes a cake for a residents birthday.
If a resident appears unwell the GP who is attached is informed promptly . there is access to an optician and podiatrist.
The carers are caring and treat the residents as individuals. There are activities and outings arranged.

Thankyou to all the staff from the Domestics to the Team Leader and Manager.

Review of Davids House from Marian D (Niece of Resident) published on 29 June 2026 Submitted via Website

My aunt finally , after a couple of falls , agreed that she could no longer live on her own. So pleased that she's in David's House, always somebody about either talking to the residents or sitting with them or escorting them somewhere or crafting etc with them. It's always clean, nobody is ignored. My aunts room is always nice and tidy, they threw a fantastic 100th birthday party for her. David's House is lovely and " homely " lots of personal touches pictures, ornaments etc. . Every member of staff is extremely approachable and helpful.

Review of Hall Grange from Wendy S (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum was very well looked after for the last 4 years and our family were welcomed into the Hall Grange family. The carers were kind, caring and treated Mum with respect and compassion. Mums face would light up when she saw one of her favourites. At times communication with external (e.g. doctors) was challenging, but supporting staff from admin, housekeeping, maintenance were all so friendly and helpful. The activities team are fantastic and flexible to residents abilities . There is a wonderful music therapist and reflexologist who visit weekly.

Mums room was light, cosy and always smelt nice. The lounge and dining areas spacious with easy access. There are beautiful gardens available to wonder around which we all enjoyed very much, especially in the spring and summer. Mum seemed to enjoy the food with puddings being her favourite. The weekly "Fun Fridays"were quite an experience with staff joining in singing and dancing. We appreciate all that was done to care for Mum.

Review of Hall Grange from Suzanne P (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum had been a resident in Bluebell for the last four years. During that time all staff, without exception, treated my mum with care, dignity and understanding. The staff in Bluebell became my mums second family and it meant that our worries about mums safety, hygiene, meals, activities and quality of life were all catered for. Mums room was light and airy, we put her own little bits of furniture, pictures and ornaments in her room to make it more homely and individual. The room was always cleaned to a high standard and smelt fresh. The communal living areas are spacious and again bright and light, exactly what the residents need. There are new staff members doing the activities at the home now, who are beyond fantastic, creating relevant daily activities from painting, making things, baking, spending time in the garden planting, bingo, singing and fun Friday celebrations. An absolute asset to the Hall Grange team, especially important to residents with dementia to keep them active.

Review of Lawnfield House from Michael D (Son of Resident) published on 13 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The carers in Lawnfield House are very dedicated, patient, skilled and caring people. They look after my mother and previously my father, as well as all the other residents in a genuinely kind and authentic manner.

Whilst it's my observation that every carer on every shift (including the often overlooked nightshift folks) are all excellent & highly skilled individuals, I must especially callout the ladies and gentleman working on the 3rd Floor as we have the most interaction with those carers. They are truly fantastic! Additionally, we shouldn't forget the staff that work so hard in the kitchen who prepare and serve some delicious looking meals multiple times per day. And it's all done with a smile...

And finally, a mention of thanks to the managers Monique & Abi as well as several other staff members that organise Residents' Activities, Religious Services and other general personal needs of residents. MSD.

Majority of staff are lovely ( especially Pauline).
Within the dining area - staff need to be able to confirm what the soup was. Asked for cheese sandwiches on brown, got cheese and egg on white.

Insufficient food portions and the type of food for a diabetic. Time lapse between the last meal and breakfast is too long. Asked for an early breakfast due to church service - didn't arrive until 10:30 AM. Evening access to be reviewed.

My Father has been at Hall Grange for 18 months now. We moved him to be closer to me.

He is very well looked after and all the staff are kind, friendly, respectful and patient with him. The food has improved since he arrived and his favourite of scampi is made especially for him.

The activities programme is brilliant and the girls work hard to think of new things to do. Bingo, crafting, music, karaoke, quizzes, cooking and themed celebrations. Dad particularly likes cheese and wine and Fun Friday. There are drink making facilities for visitors in The Hub .

His room has a wonderful view of The Wilderness. There is a large patio and seating area for warmer days. The purpose built building is spacious, airy and full of light. It gives me piece of mind that he is well cared for. Any maintenance issues are dealt with quickly. The staff are a good support for me too. Thank you.
