My dad spent just under 3 years at Hall Grange, having moved in shortly after my mum died. We visited lots of care homes at the time and Hall Grange was by far the nicest and best option; it's clean, residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible, there are nice communal areas and gardens
so they aren't confined to their rooms, staff are always on hand (not hiding away as I saw in many places). The senior staff were so friendly and compassionate at what was a difficult time for us both and made an agonising decision for me slightly easier. Dad was made to feel at home immediately and encouraged to participate in activities. I was allowed to visit at almost any time, take in food and join him for meals. As his mental and then physical health deteriorated over time, the staff stepped in to do more and more for him with kindness and a desire to maintain his dignity. I was always kept up-to-date on his condition. I couldn't have hoped for better.

Here's a review for Lawnfield House:

---

My mother was a resident at Lawnfield House, and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care she received. Every staff member demonstrated genuine compassion and professionalism, but I must particularly commend Nora, Edna, and Casetta, whose dedication

to my mum's wellbeing was truly outstanding.

Lauren, the manager, was exemplary in her communication, keeping our family consistently informed about any changes to my mother's care. This thoughtful approach gave us tremendous peace of mind during what can be a difficult time.

Monique at the front desk went above and beyond in coordinating external appointments for hairdressing and podiatry, handling these arrangements with efficiency and care.

The facilities themselves were impeccable. My mum's room was always clean and comfortable, while the communal areas and gardens were beautifully maintained and created a welcoming, homely atmosphere.

Reply from Lauren Sparg, Home Manager at Lawnfield HouseI would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for your really wonderful, kind, complimentary and inspiring words that you have shared on your review for Lawnfield House. They were so lovely to read. I will certainly be sharing your wonderful words with the staff team, particularly with the staff who you have especially mentioned.

It was an absolute pleasure having your Mum stay with us at Lawnfield House. She had sincere empathy and care in her eyes. It was a joy caring for your Mum up until her last day here and we feel honoured to have been a part of her life journey in the final stages. She is definitely missed, and we will always remember her.

My husband has been a resident for just over 2 years, in that time he has received excellent care, not only physical but also psychological. He has an individual care plan, which is followed. There are activities for the residents along with music sessions. The management team will always spend time
to discuss any problems or concerns that I may have. All staff are professional, the cleanliness excellent. As soon as you set foot in the building, there is a friendly atmosphere. Thank you to Davids House.

The Meadow

from John W (Husband of Resident) published on 19 November 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife who suffers from an advanced state of dementia and mobility problems cause by a severely deteriorated hip was admitted to The Meadow on 16th September. I had chosen The Meadow after visiting and having received positive reports from friends whose family member or friend had been cared for there
and my wife had been placed on the waiting list. I was relieved that there was a vacancy at the point our need for this became acute. No other care home I had visited had seemed to me to offer the same quality of care.
I am very positively impressed by the quality of care my wife is receiving, at the attentiveness to her personal needs and the readiness to meet these. I personally am enormously helped by the support I am receiving in a life changing move for me personally. I feel welcome on my frequent, almost daily, visits and I arrive and leave each time with a great sense of gratitude that The Meadow is caring so well for my wife.

My father is a resident at Lawnfield House and has dementia. He is treated with the utmost respect and dignity by all the staff, who are kind, patient, and always make sure he's comfortable and supported. The home is well managed and has a lovely, homely feel. The management team are professional and
approachable, and communication is good - we're always kept up to date and feel confident that he's in safe hands. There's a real sense of community, and there are plenty of activities to get involved in if you wish. Every time we visit, we're made to feel genuinely welcome, which really means a lot to our family. It's a warm, caring environment, and we're very grateful for the wonderful care my father receives. I would highly recommend Lawnfield House.

Warm and welcoming environment and staff. The management and office staff have made the transition so much easier than we imagined and have gone the extra mile to support us with funding and other matters. Nurses and carers are kind and caring. Some 1-1 staff are fantastic, while others do the bare
minimum. Dad particularly loves the homemade desserts and garden (and cats).
Reply from Sarah Law, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you very much for the feedback. We are pleased to hear that it is a warm and welcoming environment for your Dad, and the team have been helpful to him settling in. We strive for all our nurses and carers to be consistently kind and attentive to the people that live in Kenbrook, so we take your comment regarding the variation in 1 to 1 staff very seriously and we will review this with the agency and look at what we can do to ensure high standards are delivered consistently across the board. It is wonderful to hear your Dad is enjoying the garden and the cats and we will feed back to the kitchen about their homemade desserts and ensure there is a plentiful supply.

I wanted to wait a while before leaving a review but after today's events I feel absolutely compelled to share my family's experience at Kenbrook. Mum moved in in April and the transformation in her health and wellbeing can only be accredited to the carers and staff at Kenbrook. Mum is extremely well
looked after by a team of carers who clearly love their role and understand the meaning of person-centered care. The staff are always friendly and polite and ready to chat with me whenever I visit. Mum is so happy here and every time I visit her she is brighter, healthier and enjoying her life and surroundings. Today was mums birthday and the effort kenbrook put into her big day almost brought me to tears. They had a cake, present and sang to her and made her birthday truly special. It can be tough when you're not able to be with your loved one everyday but knowing she's at Kenbrook gives me great peace is mind. Mum loves her new home and is happy. Thank you Kenbrook
Reply from Sarah Law, Home Manager at KenbrookThank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and detailed review. We were all very touched by your kind words. It is a privilege to care for your mother and knowing that you have seen a transformation in her health and wellbeing is the best possible feedback we could receive. We are very passionate about providing person centred care and having this recognised means a lot to us. I am glad you enjoyed your Mum's special day as we try and make people feel at home and comfortable and that it is a their very special occasion.

Lawnfield House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Both of my parents resided at Lawnfield House for more than 3 years until their very recent deaths. During that time they were treated with respect and compassion by all of the staff, who dealt with their complex health needs, hospital stays, and many other day to day issues in a friendly, supportive
and patient manner. This was extended to all visitors who were always welcomed.
Some things really stood out as making a difference:
Getting to know the residents and their families very well and encouraging everybody to join in.
Keeping us informed of any illness, concern and the overall well-being of our parents.
The size and layout of the care home. Lawnfield House has a small number of residents, with just a ground and first floor with some outside space, so it always felt intimate, safe and very caring.
We are extremely grateful to everyone at Lawnfield House for the love and attention they have shown to our parents and to us, and for making a difficult time so much easier.
Reply from Lauren Sparg, Home Manager at Lawnfield HouseI would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to post a review for Lawnfield House. Your kind words about our staff team are very much appreciated, valued and welcomed. A little praise can go a long way for our staff team for the work that we do, so thank you. It was an absolute pleasure having your Mum and Dad live with us at Lawnfield House all these years. We certainly do miss them. They will always remain a part of our Lawnfield House family.
