Since our friend came to permanently live at Claybourne we, as friends of the resident an only praise the care and love we see around all residents. The atmosphere is amazing and we are all treated the same, visitors & residents. The staff work so hard to, from the domestic staff, chef and his staff,
management team and of couse the carers themselves. We admire & thank you all for everything you do.

Although this is the most difficult time for us as a family. Without the care and kindness of the staff, we would not cope.
The staff have shown a true kindness, warmth and compassion I never knew possible.
Special humans that we as family could not do without. Our dad is in safe, kind, caring hands.
Reply from Lorraine Beirne, Home Manager at Briar Hill House

My brother has been to 3 nursing homes this is by far the best one he has been too.
He is very happy there you can not fault the care that he is receiving there.
They make him feel more comfortable and it is a nice and friendly place.
He has been coming up to 3 years there. that speaks for it self.

My aunt was a resident here for over 4 years and passed away recently. Under the helm of the manager and deputy manager she was cared for with love and respect. Every member of staff is part of a jigsaw puzzle there which fits without a piece missing. This includes management, nurses, care assistants,
activity coordinators, laundry, housekeeping, the two lovely staff members in administration, the Chaplain, and the head chef and his team in the kitchen department. My aunt was always clean, well looked after, and certainly enjoyed the nourishing, tasty food she was served. When staff approached her, her eyes lit up and she loved them, a response that can't be faked with dementia. Be proud Weston House of the difference you make, in what is probably the worst time in anyone's life if they sadly succumb to Alzheimer's Disease/Dementia. And always be aware of the impact of acts of love and kindness towards residents and their families has on them. God bless.
Reply from Ruth Hazeldine, Home Manager at Weston House

Thank you for such a lovely review, it is wonderful to hear that you have had such a positive experience with the team and care at Weston House. It has been an absolute pleasure to care for your aunt. I will ensure that your kind words are shared with the team whom I am sure will greatly appreciate them.

Claybourne is an outstanding home, the person- centred care is very obvious. The staff are approachable and listen to your comments and wishes. The home has an inclusive, community feel. Standards from furnishings to food are high, it is spotless and well maintained.
There are many enriching activities
on offer , from fellowship services, armchair exercises, music therapy. The activities coordinator is full of ideas for varied and interesting things for all to join in.
My dad recently celebrated a milestone birthday,we were given a room for family to spend the day with him and the home provided a fantastic buffet.
The staff all genuinely care about the residents well being and have become like extended family, nothing is too much trouble, they all have such a positive attitude.
It's an excellent, well managed, well staffed home from home, it's a big step to entrust your loved ones into residential care but it's been a great decision. I cannot thank the manager and her team enough.

Wonderful, friendly place. Management takes time to listen, are very approachable and caring. All Staff go over and above, always creating a warm, friendly atmosphere, having time to spend with residents, listen to residents and helping them to participate socially. Rooms are clean and daily laundry
carried out. There is always something happening at Briar Hill House, they make sure there are plenty of social events available and family participation. When my husband was poorly, nursing staff did a fantastic job, all staff helping to care for him were on the ball. Briar Hill is well-maintained and any issues are dealt with efficiently. All meals are presented in an appetising manner, with a good choice, taking great care to ensure dietary needs are accommodated. I cannot thank the staff enough, they not only support my husband but me too, always a friendly face and so very caring and very hardworking.

Excellent home, with excellent friendly and caring staff, who are always happy to help and answer any questions we may have. You are treated like one of the family. I worked in a nursing home for 13 years, and qualified in dementia, this is by far a better home, higher standards and a place I know my
mum is happy, safe and well looked after.

A fantastic home, very welcoming. The staff are amazing and take time to get to know each resident individually, nothing is too much trouble. They all genuinely care for the residents and form great relationships with them. There are always varied activities to take part in such as chair Zumba and singing.
The gardens were a bonus as my mum loved to potter in her well kept garden. The garden at Claybourne is so special and attracts much wildlife too. The residents are able to make their own choices where to explore in a safe environment from several avenues each with their own lounge where they can stop off for a cup of tea along the way and are made to feel welcome. I am truly grateful for all the help and support and would not hesitate to recommend Claybourne.

As soon as you walk through the door, there is the sound of music giving a very calming atmosphere or sometimes a lively atmosphere to join in with the songs being played.
The staff are all lovely and caring, they have got to know my husband over the three months he has been attending on 2 days a week.
They understand his foibles and are able to cajole him along.
My husband enjoys joining in with the activities particularly the music and dancing. He also loves the freedom and space where he can wander around the various areas within the building. I'm sure he will enjoy the extra space outside when the weather gets better. I feel very relaxed taking him to Claybourne and he is always eager to get out of bed if he knows that's where he is going for the day.
He likes the food on offer and will eat more variety there than he does at home.
I really can't praise the accommodation and staff enough.

It is a huge relief for us to know that mum is safe and well cared for at Claybourne. The staff are always so patient, understanding and caring and the manager is excellent. Although mum is unable to walk around the grounds, she loves to see the beautiful garden and trees. The Fellowship and Sunday
services are also very important to her and there are other activities available to join in too. There is a good and varied selection of meals on offer.

The home had a festive feel all Christmas with activities everyday. The staff all went out of their way to ensure that all the residents had a fabulous time. The food was amazing and my mum very much appreciated everyone's efforts, mum especially enjoyed the church services and hymn singing and she
was really grateful to be taken out Christmas shopping. One staff member in particular even helped mum wrap her presents and wrote the gift tags.
I looked at many care homes for mum before I found Claybourne and none came anywhere near to providing the care and support that this home gives. Thank you.

Mum has been a resident for 18 months. Having viewed many homes, this was the only one we were confident would be right for mum. It is a warm family environment - the staff are very caring and confident with the residents. Dementia is a cruel affliction and the residents couldn't be looked after better.
By having visiting doctors rounds, dentist visits and chiropody the residents are able to be looked after without having to go into unfamiliar surgeries etc which can be frightening.
Always kept updated with reference to health issues and the manager is very proactive not hidden away in an office like many establishments.
Fully recommend.
