Huntercombe Hall Care Home

from B C (Son of Resident) published on 31 October 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father was a resident at Huntercombe for two years up until his passing. The kindness, care and attention he received was exemplary. With such a wonderful building, decor and surroundings it provides a lovely atmosphere. The family enjoyed visiting and and seeing him well cared for. It's very humbling
to see the compassion and patience of all the staff. We will always be thankful in knowing that Dad was in the best hands for his final years.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My dad came on a discharge to assess, he has settled well and after some confusion of what happens here, we spoke to both a senior and a carer who went out of their way to explain my dad's situation. We felt very welcome and more happy with how my dad's care is. The only point I would make is there
is a lack of communication between the hospital, social worker and home about family expectations of their relatives' care. Overal,l I am happy with the home.

This is a lovely caring home. All staff are bright and cheerful and very helpful. The rooms are slightly smaller but I think the rooms vary in size. I have marked everything as 'good'. There will always be something that could be improved to raise to 'excellent' but have not found out what that is yet.
I would not hesitate this recommend this home to anyone.

I have just returned from a long day at Stowford House Care Home and wanted to say how extremely helpful, caring and cheerful all the staff have been that I have encountered throughout the day. I am very grateful for their care, support and consideration, especially in difficult circumstances. The
Assistant Manger went out of his way today and is always coming up with solutions to problems, always very reassuring.
My parents have both been residents since June and now very much feel part of the Stowford family! I feel extremely reassured every time I leave them.

Oaken Holt Nursing and Residential Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
From our initial meeting at Oaken Holt, we as a family are so happy our uncle, who was struggling at home, needing more care, moved there.
Nothing was or is too much trouble. In less than a year my uncle has become less frail, less anxious, put on weight and loves the food, activities and the staff.
Oaken Holt is so open to visitors with Adrian on the desk being a face so welcoming. But beyond that. All staff are so lovely and accommodating to family members also. I am kept up to date with weekly emails. Also invited to events held there! It's a family. In short my uncle is well, checked by nursing staff, doctors and so many more services offered. But more importantly he is thriving! He's happy, laughs, tells me stories of his days as they've been so great with entertainment being laid on all the time. It's a respectful, clean and homely home for those lucky enough to live there.
