Kippingtons Nursing Home

from Doris C (Sister of Resident) published on 19 February 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
From the moment we walked into reception and were given directions to find my sister (room 20). We were greeted by smiling and happy staff. My sister's room was spacious and with many personal items. Lots of family photographs. Every area was spotlessly clean. My sister seems happy and contented, she's
93 and recently became a resident.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Kippingtons Nursing HomeThanks so much for this lovely review! We really appreciate you taking the time to share how happy you are with the care your sister is receiving in our home. It's particularly lovely to hear about how happy and friendly you find the staff, and how you find the home to be spotlessly clean. It's a pleasure to have your sister with us.

Southlands Place

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I would like to thank the wonderful team on the ground floor for their superb care of my mother. At a recent hospital appointment the consultant was very impressed by the comprehensive notes and information I was given to take to the appointment by the team. It appears this is not what they normally
see, but it is standard practice for Southlands Place. The consultant also commented on how well cared for her skin is. "You are somewhere very special" were his words to her. We know that. My mother is cared for so well and not just physically as her emotional wellbeing is just as important to them.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Southlands PlaceThank you so much for your kind words! This lovely review really means so much to our whole team. It's great to hear how impressed the consultant was with the care your mother is receiving, especially her skin. If there's ever anything more we can do for you or for her, please don't hesitate to ask!

Kings Lodge

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The King's Lodge staff gave excellent care and support to my mother over the last year.
All staff involved in the home were very generous with their time and support and would go over and above what was required to give residents a safe and caring environment. The activities team went to a great
deal of effort to ensure the residents were provided with a variety of fun events.
Mum was supported by an excellent nursing team and warm and empathetic leadership by Sajila, home Manager.
Every single member of staff worked incredibly hard to provide Mum with the best experience possible at the end of her life. Thank you.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Kings LodgeThanks so much for taking the time to write us this review. We're very sorry for your loss, though it means so much to the whole team to hear how happy you were with the care your mum received at King's Lodge. It's particularly special to hear you felt the team went above and beyond to create a caring environment for residents. Thank you.

My dad has been a resident of Heffle Court for 11 months now. Since our first meeting, Dad has been treated and cared for with dignity, love and respect. We have been kept well informed of any issues concerning Dad's health and mental and physical well-being. The staff caring for Dad are truly wonderful
people, and Dad trusts them with his personal care. I really feel our family and the staff at Heffle are a team who want to make sure Dad has the very best care.

While the decision to move Mum into a care home was hard and extremely emotional, we can't believe how professional, empathetic and kind the whole team have been during the process of settling Mum in. We are lucky to be able to visit regularly, and it is like visiting an extended family. Mum is safe,
secure, well cared for, stimulated and respected. The staff are very communicative, keeping me up to date with any issues that may arise. They are kind, thoughtful, attentive and extremely professional. L'Hermitage has exceeded all our expectations, and we are very grateful.

Oaklands House Care Centre

from Julie A (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 18 February 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5
My mum in law was sent to Oaklands House Care Centre prior to a permanent plan after a hospital admission. On leaving hospital she used the toilet with help and wore incontinence pads for 'accidents'. Our experience here was not the best. She was left in bed as they didn't have enough chairs for her
to be taken downstairs - even though she could go in a wheelchair & sit at the table, most of the time. When she was in bed she was not dressed and on one occasion - in a wet bed. Now she has moved to a new home she is almost back to the level she was when she left hospital & has her dignity back.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Oaklands House Care CentreThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. At Oaklands, we pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care and a positive experience for all our residents. We're sorry to hear that, on this occasion, your experience did not reflect that. We would be grateful if you could contact us directly at manager.oaklands@ariacare.co.uk so that we can learn more about your experience and ensure we continue delivering the very best care for our residents.

Oaken Holt Nursing and Residential Home

from M C (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother lives at Oaken Holt Care Home
It is set in an amazing location with spacious rooms with a beautiful view some with direct access to the garden and would suit those residents looking for a more countryside location. The carers are very kind and caring to the residents. The whole team provide
a homely environment for the residents and my mother enjoys living here. It is also reassuring that there are nurses on site every day. The team have also been very supportive of the families. The food is very good. The permanent staff are very good but sometimes there are agency staff and a little lack of continuity. The activities I am not so sure because my mother is not interested in them but this is not the fault of the care home.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Oaken Holt Nursing and Residential HomeThank you for your thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased your mother is happy at Oaken Holt and that you value the caring team, beautiful setting and nursing support. We appreciate your comments about staffing continuity and will continue striving to provide the best possible experience for residents and families.

My mum has been a resident at Mount Pleasant for the last eighteen months, during which time she has thrived and has a wonderful quality of life. She is looked after so well and adores all the staff. She enjoys the activities, especially spending time with the children from the local nursery and the
Christmas Party. Any medical issues are dealt with promptly, as are any personal issues, and it is always evident how much the staff care for her and show respect, dignity and affection at all times. It is very reassuring to know she is safe and looked after to the highest standard.

The management and staff are a great bunch. They are kind, caring and helpful, always ready to answer questions you have. room for clients to sit and listen, and also watch the birds and an odd squirrel running around. I wish I had known about Miranda House when my husband first had to go into care.
