Rownhams Manor

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I took my 90 year old uncle to view the home knowing that we might book a respite stay for him. This was depending on what our first impressions were!! Well let's just say we were not disappointed, we were greeted by all the staff and had a lovely tour round by Treasa. We had coffee and beautiful
home made cakes in the care home gardens.
Treasa made us feel very welcome and my uncle was ready to book his stay right away.
The rooms are beautiful and he chose his room instantly. Even other residents spoke to us and said how lovely it was there and he would not be disappointed..
Thanks to all the staff especially Treasa .
Reply from Treasa Commins, Customer Relations Manager at Rownhams ManorThank you so much for your lovely words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. It was an absolute pleasure to welcome you and your uncle to our home. We are delighted to hear that you both enjoyed the visit, especially the tour, gardens, coffee, and homemade cakes!

Treasa and the whole team will be so pleased to know they helped make your uncle feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you arrived. It means a great deal to us that he felt ready to book his stay straight away and that he found a room he loved so quickly.

Were also glad you had the chance to meet some of our wonderful residents and hear first-hand about life in our home. Creating a warm, welcoming, and happy environment is something we truly pride ourselves on.

Thank you again for your kind comments and we are delighted your uncle is now settling in well. Hope to see you soon.

I have a friend who resided at Kinglea Court, first impressions is that it looks a feels like a luxury hotel, my friend is honestly having the time of her life. Somer Valley House

from Graham M (Son of Resident) published on 15 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The team at Somer Valley have provided excellent care for my mum since she arrived there in March. She has been made very welcome since the moment she arrived. The staff have all been very patient and caring when they have dealt with her, showing a genuine understanding of her needs, and demonstrating
their ability to care properly for the elderly. All the staff that I have met are very conscientious and have shown they really care for the residents.

I live outside the Midsomer area and when visiting my mum since she moved to Somer Valley I have noticed a continual improvement in her wellbeing and mood, and she is much more relaxed than she was in the last care home where she was resident. Her relationship with her carers is very much better than it was at her last care home, and it is clear that she trusts the carers who care for her at Somer Valley. We are very pleased to have been able to move her here and feel confident the team will continue to meet her needs.

Reply from Emma Curtain, Customer Relationship Manager at Somer Valley HouseThank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review, it has been our absolute pleasure to be given the privilege of caring for your Mum and we are delighted at how well she has settled with us at Somer Valley House and that we can see her confidence, wellbeing and mood improving on a daily basis. Our Care Team have the biggest hearts and will be so happy to read your review. Thank you again.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother is a resident of Ponbay Lodge and, despite her reservations at moving to a care home, she had settled very well. This is largely down to the attentive and caring staff who will always go the extra mile to ensure comfort. When I arrive at Ponbay, I am always welcomed with a smile and kind
ords.
The food is varied and of excellent quality, and families are welcome to join their loved ones for lunch or dinner.
Two activities are planned for each day and are designed to encourage mobility, sociability and fun.
The environment is always clean and furnishings are tasteful and good quality.
Reply from Gailynne Peters, Front of House Manager at Ponbay LodgeThank you for your wonderful review and for taking the time to share your experience of Ponbay Lodge. We are delighted to hear that your mother has settled in so well, especially after understandably having reservations about moving into a care home.

I cannot rate Merceode Care home highly enough. We had to find urgent respite care for my father in law. The moment we walked in for a look around and were welcomed so warmly by Helen we knew it was the right place. The home is managed with love and compassion by Helen and Conor. They and the whole
team are friendly, warm, caring and go out of their way to overcome obstacles and to provide individualized care. The atmosphere is calm, the decor is attractive, the food is amazing. We as a whole family were treated with immense kindness in what was a very difficult time. Our family member passed away there after a short stay. We are so grateful he was there and experienced such wonderful care. I would not hesitate to recommend this exceptional home.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My experience of Bradshaw Lodge is limited as I have only visited once, but the overall impression was one of warmth from the staff, including the receptionist and kitchen staff. The decor was attractive, using warm colour very carefully and with taste. My friend seems to have settled in very happily,
joining in with the activities provided. I thought that the ensuite facility in her room was rather large in what was a comparatively small room.

I cannot speak highly enough of Fairwod Fields Care Home. It is clean and well decorated throughout with lots of extras - cinema rooms, beauty salon, garden room and library.
The staff are wonderful and have gone above and beyond in helping Mum settle and join in with the many activities. They have

Since there's been a new chef and more supportive kitchen staff there has been improvement on the food.. in the main, which better caters to elderly residents taste.
Niw that the home is almost full, I get the impression the laundry and cleaning staff could do with more help.. But that's only hearsay!
Reply from Sara Heath, Customer Relations Manager at Furze Field ManorThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you have noticed the improvements in the food since our new chef and additional kitchen support joined the team. Providing meals that are both enjoyable and suited to our residents tastes is very important to us.

We also appreciate your comments regarding the housekeeping and laundry teams. As the home becomes busier, we continually review staffing levels and support across all departments to ensure we maintain the high standards of care and service our residents deserve.

Thank you again for your valued feedback and support.

Copperfield Court

My dad was slowly dying in a hospital, Northampton. I spent every day I was off work travelling to see him and sitting by his bed side. He could barely talk, couldn't walk, had no memory whatsoever. Copperfield helped me rescue him, against all the wishes of the hospital and Northampton systems that
were leaving him to slowly die.. Every step of the way , they stood behind me backing me up and fighting for him too, although they only had my word for the funny cheeky gentle true gentleman he is and I knew would be again given the chance. He arrived immobile, grumpy, confused, sad with not more than 30 seconds of memory. They have nurtured him 24/7. He is his old self once more and it is down to them entirely. The staff are so magnificent I simply do not have the words. Kind. Funny. Talented. Warm and truly work as a team. Have fun with each other and the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. AMAZING! I can't thank u all enough. You saved him. And me. Grateful beyond belief. Thank you
Reply from Nicola Howard, CRM at Copperfield CourtWe truly cannot thank you enough for your beautiful comments and kind words. Reading this means more to us than we can say.
It has been an honour and a privilege to care for your dad and to see him regain his spirit, humour and personality again. Your love, dedication and determination for him have been incredible every step of the way.
We will be sharing your message with all of the staff, as it will mean the world to every single member of the team. Thank you for taking the time to write such heartfelt words - they remind us why we do what we do.
We are so happy that your dad is back to being the funny, cheeky gentleman you always knew was still there.
With our heartfelt thanks and very best wishes to you both.

Copperfield Court

I attended the care home to visit my grandma. It was a lovely atmosphere and it was nice to see so many other residents enjoying the sunshine.
I was greeted at the entrance by Nicola who instantly made me feel welcome and she was honestly very friendly. She came across very approachable, professional
and it was evident that she valued all of the residents.
It was clear to see that every staff member took pride in their jobs and looked after not only my grandma but also the other residents with comfort and empathy.
I left the care home knowing that my grandma was in safe hands and that she would be looked after which gave me a sense of relief and reassurance.
Reply from Nicola Howard, CRM at Copperfield CourtThank you for your kind words, I will pass this on to all of our staff members here at Copperfield Court.
We are delighted to hear that you know that your grandma is happy and very well looked after by our amazing team.

Estuary Gardens Care Home

We couldn't be happier with the care my mum receives at Estuary Garden. From the moment she arrived, the team made her feel welcome, safe, and truly at home.

The staff are exceptional - kind, patient, and always treating residents with dignity and respect. It's clear they genuinely care, not just

about day-to-day needs but about each person as an individual. That makes such a difference to families like ours.

The home itself is always clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully run. There's a lovely atmosphere, with activities and little touches (like events and gatherings) that bring real joy to the residents.

Knowing my mum is so well looked after gives us enormous peace of mind. We're incredibly grateful to everyone at Estuary Garden for the compassion and dedication they show every single day.

My dad became a resident at Bowesbury Care Home, Boulton Moor, Derby.
The carers, the managers, the housekeeping staff & chiefs! Have been nothing but welcoming, the food is very well liked by my dad. He has settled in very well only after a couple of weeks.
Everyone works as a team & are supportive
to me as well as my dad.
I can thoroughly recommend this home to everyone who is thinking of going into one!

Lake View Lodge

Father needed respite care. Lakeview was our first experience of using a care home facility and it was incredible. They looked after my dad incredibly well and he really enjoyed his time there. Visitors were allowed, and there were lots of activities every day if you wanted to take part, equally peace
and tranquility overlooking the beautiful lake too. A sunny location, lovely views and because its brand new, everything is 5 star.
Every one of the staff from the admin team to the nurses and catering team were all fabulous.
Should my dad need a permanent home or more respite, we shall return!
