Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum was admitted to the PAU Unit at Hawkhurst House in March 2025 after suffering a broken hip. The staff are wonderful, kind, compassionate and caring, managed by the manager Gail. Her office door is always open, and nothing is too much trouble.
Mum has now been transferred to the ground as a permanent
resident - I cannot speak highly enough of Gail and her team.
Reply from Gail Watkins, Registered Manager at Hawkhurst House PAUThank you for taking time to complete a review. It was our pleasure to care for mum on PAU and meet all the family. Although mum has moved downstairs to long stay she comes up to see us most days and she is always very welcome.
Thanks again

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I visited Hartford Court today for the first time and was really impressed. The home was welcoming and the administrator asked me who I was here to see and made sure I went to the right place. The home was immaculately clean and the staff were really helpful. My friend said she liked being at Hartford
Court as it was cheerful and she has made new friends. What she really likes is the fact that the staff treat her with dignity and respect. She has the options to join in activities as she wishes. This was a really nice visit and I look forward to returning. She also said that she enjoys the food - there is plenty of it and she always has a good choice. She told me that she had made the right choice when she chose Hartford Court.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at Hartford CourtThank you for sharing such a lovely review following your visit to Hartford Court. We're delighted to hear that you felt welcomed and were impressed with the cleanliness of the home and the helpfulness of our team.

It's especially wonderful to know that your friend feels happy here, has made new friends, and enjoys the welcoming atmosphere. Treating our residents with dignity and respect is at the heart of everything we do, so your kind comments mean a great deal to us. We're also pleased to hear she enjoys the food and the choice of activities available. Thank you again for your feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Woodlands House

from Russell P (Son of Resident) published on 8 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Dad went in for respite care on New Year's Eve 2025 / 26 and will now stay permanently.
The house and his room are lovely, the staff are very friendly and caring. I enjoy visiting Dad there and it has now started to feel like a second home for myself!
Dad is well looked after, he has good days and
bad days and often wants to go home but the staff are very patient and understanding with his mood swings.
I couldn't think of a better place for Dad to be, the house is lovely and well kept, and the location in the forest is gorgeous.
Unfortunately I have dropped one star as sometimes he cant reach his buzzer or phone when he is alone in his room.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at Woodlands HouseThank you for your kind review. We're so pleased to hear that your dad feels settled with us and that you enjoy visiting - it's lovely to know Woodlands House is starting to feel like a second home for you too.

Our team works hard to provide compassionate care, especially on the more difficult days, so your kind words will mean a lot to them. We also appreciate you raising the point about the buzzer and phone, and we will certainly review this to help ensure they are always within easy reach.Thank you again for your feedback and for trusting us with your dad's care.

I can't speak highly enough of Harlow Hall Care Home. My father is currently staying there, and the level of care, compassion, and professionalism from every member of staff has been truly outstanding.
From the very beginning, the team made both my father and our whole family feel welcomed, supported,
and reassured.
The environment is warm and clean, and there's always a positive, friendly atmosphere. Communication with families is excellent too, which gives us real peace of mind.
Knowing my father is in such caring hands has made a world of difference during what could otherwise be a very stressful time.
I'm incredibly grateful to everyone at Harlow Hall, they are simply brilliant.

A pleasure to visit my aunt. The staff are always obliging and friendly. We are able to sit in the lounge upstairs (if available) or in the dining room so as not to be in the way of others. The best thing to us is having a member of staff entertaining the residents all day. Brilliant, have visited many
homes but not seen that before. A big plus in my view.

It was my mums first time at a care home having suffered a stroke, Harlow Hall is a friendly and welcoming place, it is like a Boutique Hotel .

The staff are amazing and quickly ascertained mum's quirky ways

There are plenty of Activities and entertainment such as cinema beauty salon, crafts

a sky bar ,garden room & tribute bands .

Sadly, my mum can't join in with some of these activities as she is bedridden and blind, but she can hear what's going on, which she really enjoys listening to

Aldergrove Manor Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mom currently resides at Aldergrove Manor, I could not ask for better care. They have made her feel welcome from the moment she arrived as well as myself, having never had to deal with care homes before we were both very nervous. Our nerves were put at ease immediately by the Home Manager and Unit
Manager, they were friendly, kind and informative. This is then felt throughout the home, the staff are very friendly and caring, they show compassion and genuine care. The home is clean, well decorated and has a lot of space, there are a lot of rooms available for when more family visit as well as some quieter areas for more secluded visits. The home goes above and beyond to provide that extra bit of care, thank you for everything you do.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at Aldergrove Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted that your mom feels so welcome at Aldergrove Manor and that both of you felt supported from the very beginning. Hawkhurst House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I can honestly say that Hawkhurst House has made such a positive difference to my 91 year old mother's life. She is incredibly happy there, having made new friends, joining in the many varied activities, and really enjoying both the food and the care she receives. She seems not only happier but also
much more confident.
The staff are friendly and consistently show genuine care and attention in everything they do. It's clear they truly care about the residents.
The rooms are spacious and well equipped, with a TV, a comfortable sitting area, a kitchenette with a fridge (which is very useful), and an en-suite shower room. Mum's room also has patio doors that open onto the garden, which is absolutely lovely.
The management have an open-door policy and are always approachable, which gives great reassurance to families.
I'm so pleased we chose this care home for Mum-it has truly been the making of her..
Reply from Chris Walton-Turner, Manager at Hawkhurst HouseThank you so much for such lovely feedback. We are so pleased your mum has settled in and become a valued and active member of the Hawkhurst House family. We hope the weather begins to improve so she can actually open that patio door, use the garden and keep an eye on our guinea pigs, budgies and finches.

A nice, well cared for home which my mother-in-law seems to feel at home in. The facilities are fine, and there are plenty of quality activities. Our dog is always made welcome. My only complaint is that only the staff can open any external doors, so we are left standing in the cold and rain until they
appear. On busy days this can be a good few minutes.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at Tegfield HouseThank you for your review. We're pleased to hear that your mother-in-law feels at home and that you enjoy our facilities and activities-plus it's always lovely to welcome your dog! We also appreciate your constructive note regarding external doors and will review ways to improve the experience for visitors, especially on busy days. Mum was in The Lodge nursing home for 5 weeks for end of life care. From the moment mum entered the home she was shown love, care and compassion, also ourselves from every member of staff, nothing was ever too much trouble and always done with a smile. The care was exceptional. Mum was shown the utmost
dignity from entering the home until leaving with the staff forming a guard of honour for her final journey.
Reply from Jenni Laffoley, Head of Marketing at The LodgeThank you for sharing your experience. We are deeply touched by your kind words and feel honored to have been able to care for your mum during such an important time.
